Chapter 3- Meeting Alfred Again

He does not remember much. All he can recover from the hazy memory he recovered is the name of his parents are Dr. Thomas Gabriel Wayne & Martha Wayne. Also, the killer of their parents was professional. But only their parents were targets. He and his sister were just bystander civilian casualties. That is why his sister is even alive right now.

All he can remember about the killer is that his left arm was encased in metal armor, or made of metal.

Suddenly his sister asked, "I saw you got shot in the head from behind, how you survived that?"

"The bullet just grazed my skull. I am fine." –Bruce replied.

-"Then why are you walking right now? You should be resting too."

-"I am doing just fine. I don't know how yet, but my injury recovered very fast. Only most of my memories are just hazy right now. Maybe because of a heavy concussion. But they are coming back slowly. Right now you need rest. I had enough rest, although I can't remember clearly how many days have passed since…"

"8 days."- Katie said.

"Ok. Don't worry. I will take care of you from now on. Now you just rest. I will talk to the doctors."- Saying that Bruce left the room. His sister needs her rest now.

After an inquiry in the reception again he found the name of the doctor that operated on her sister. Doctor Stephen Strange. Also, the payment for the hospital bills has been cleared by someone name 'Alfred Pennyworth'. How much of a coincidence is this? Other than his sister, everything is the same as in his previous world. As if someone wanted it that way.

After talking to the doctor 1st impression he had of the said doctor is a brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon. At the age of 22 years, he completed both his MD & Ph.D. At least he has the basis for his arrogance. So his sister is in good hands for now. According to the doctor, it will take 3 months to heal her spine. After that, there will be periodical therapy. She will fully recover within a year.

This is a piece of good news among so many bad news. Bruce's emotion has calmed down after hearing the news. After that, he left the hospital to catch a cab. He has to go to Wayne Manor if it is also here in this world.

On the middle part of Roosevelt Island, There stood a lonely manor. Inside the manor, Alfred is now trying to handle all the different problems that came up after the death of his master, there is even the situation of Katie, and also missing Bruce. No one knows where he is right now. Why did someone want to kidnap Master Bruce? He could not find any reason.

That is when there came an alert that someone is trying to contact from the main gate. From the CCTV he noticed that it was a local cab. The window glass from the back seat came down. He was stunned after seeing the face. Master Bruce.

For a week no one found any information about him from anywhere. But, there he is. Looking at the camera, as if directly looking at his eyes. He pressed a button, the gate opens up and the cab came inside the manor boundary.

Seeing that the cab came inside he ran after the front door, to receive now not missing Bruce Wayne.

Bruce came out of the cab. He saw Alfred standing there. He looks just like the Alfred he knows previously, who died from old age peacefully. His only regret was that he could not help Bruce anymore. He was a great man, his first teacher, and his lifelong friend.

From new memories that resurfaced after seeing Alfred, He knew that everything is the same here. Even his personality and talking style. He sighed in relief. As that he will not have to keep hiding from Alfred if their ideology is also the same. He will understand that over time. He stopped Alfred from asking any question for now and pointed at the cab.

Alfred understood his gesture. He paid the necessary amount plus a big tip for his help.

After they went inside the house, Alfred drowned him with questions. Where were you? How are you? And many other questions that he had to answer one by one.

He said he does not remember what happened after his injury. All he can remember is that he woke up in a small room in a monastery. He also recovered from his injury. How he got there and who were they, he does not know. Also, his memory is a little hazy right now. He went to the hospital to check up on Katie. She is doing fine for now.

Alfred said that when he got the message of the incident, Katie was already in the hospital, Bruce was missing and police had already done the initial forensic research. According to an experienced forensic investigator, there is a 6th set of footprints. He came from something like a helicopter, picked up Bruce and Katie, sent her to the hospital, and kidnapped Bruce. From the walking pattern they can only determine that the 6th person is a man.

According to the hospital, Katie was admitted there by a middle-aged black strong man. But the most confusing part is that there is no record of him entering the hospital in the security camera. As if he directly teleported inside the hospital.

There is also few more confusing part about this case, as there was no sighting of any helicopter. There was not even any loud sound. And they also could not find any motive for them to save Katie.

But Bruce understood it must be something that the sorcerers are capable of. That black man could only be Mordo. He was grateful for his help at first, but now he is indebted to him. If not for Mordo, Katie would also join their parents in the afterlife.

He did not tell Alfred about the sorcerers for now. It is night right now. His body is still not fully recovered for now. He need rest. So after some simple dinner, he went to bed.
