Returning back in time
Achilles' POV
"Ha! You are really selfish" she said as she glared at me I held her shoulder gently but she brushed it off. Tears starting to fall in her eyes. My heart hurts seeing her cry, I walked towards her and I hugged her but she pushed me away from her.
"Please, just trust me this time, " I said as I begged for her affection one more time. I heard her laughing bitterly and when I looked at her face, all I can see is the disgust coming from her eyes.
"Trust you and what? Break it again? Please, I'm begging you.
"Please Alanta, anything but this…" I said with my shaking hand. She took the divorce papers from the table then she dropped them in front of me. Now, I really can't do anything about it huh? I thought.
"Achilles, you already broke me when you cheated on me. When you brought her then you neglected me and your son, " she said with her voice shaking probably from anger. I took the divorce papers from the floor.
"Divorce me or I'll die. It's your choice, Your Majesty, " she said as she left our room that night. I stared at the Divorce papers in my hand. So, this is our ending? I won't accept this! I thought as I burned the papers on my fireplace.
"I am sorry, Alanta. But without you, I won't be able to take it" I whispered as I stared at the burning papers in the fireplace. Then I went to my study table and I worked on the remaining papers.
Morning came and my secretary entered the room. He looked at me with a confused look on his face, then he looked at the mess of my office.
"Your Majesty, please rest now. I asked the chefs to prepare your breakfast and I supposed that they have finished cooking it already" Felix said as he looked at his pocket watch.
"Yeah, I'll have it later. I will just finish this paper" I said. But Felix came by my side and he placed his hand on top of the paper that I was writing on and he pulled me out of my seat.
"Please. Eat. Now." He said with a threatening look on his face. I shook my head as I left my seat. I went towards the door and as I opened it. I saw Alanta on the front with some of her maids. I was shocked, I never thought that there would be a day where Alanta will come to me herself.
"Felix, can you go out first. I want to have some privacy with my Empress" I told him. He nodded, then he left the room with the maids leaving the two of us all alone.
"So, your majesty, have you thought about my proposition now?" she asked with a serious look on her face. I held her hand gently as I touched her face.
"I want to apologize, my dear. But I won't divorce you, because I won't be able to bear it if you leave me" I told her. She slapped my hand off of her and she smiled with a hint of sadness in her eyes.
"I see. So that is your decision. You are still selfish until the end huh?" She said then she left the room. I massaged my forehead before going to the dining hall of my palace to eat breakfast.
After eating, I was about to go back to work when a maid came running towards me. I frowned and Felix held the maid.
"What do you think you're doing? You are in front of his majesty" he said, but I told him to let the maid speak first. The maid was panting as she probably ran from another palace.
"Y-your Majesty! The Empress! T-the Empress jumped from the third floor of the palace! " The maid said with a scared look on her face. I didn't say anything and I started running towards the Empress' Palace right away.
When I got to her palace, I saw a large number of maids and other workers there, they are all crying. I can feel every fiber of my being shaken as I walk to the crowd.
"Make way! His Majesty is coming!" A maid shouted and the crowd stepped to the sides, making a way for me to go through. As I walk there, I can feel my steps getting heavier as I get closer. And when I can finally see her body, I walked quickly and I held her cold body to warm it up with mine.
"Oh, my dear, it's cold, isn't it? Wait, let me warm you up. Just wait for a second," I said as I hugged her whole body. I took her hands and I blew on them to warm them up.
Had I known that this threat was real, I would've divorced you instead…
Now, I truly lost you forever…

50 years later…
Felix's POV
I walked towards the room of his majesty where he lay in his bed looking all weak. He looked at me quickly and he looked ahead again.
It's been fifty years since the Empress died. His Majesty didn't cry. He just held her there, without any emotions shown on his face. It's like he has become numb, numb from everything.
After that, his highness the crown prince went on an expedition and he returned after a while. He had a victory banquet while his father attended it shortly then he buried himself with work in his office. The Astrovia Empire continued to flourish while his majesty became weaker and weaker.
"Is that you? Felix? " He talked. I went beside him as I sat on the chair beside his bed.
"Yes, your majesty. It's me," I said. He can't see anymore, you see. His vision was the first one to give up. But he still listened to the reports of the nobles while hiding the fact that he had gone blind.
"It's been a lot of years huh? Since I lost her," he said as he smiled sadly. This is the first emotion he showed after a lot of years. He chuckled and he coughed.
"Ha, it seems that my time is near. I will be going soon," he said as he laughed weakly. I listened to him as he continued speaking.
"I'm glad that the Empire flourished. The only regret that I have right now is when I lost her," he said as he slowly closed his eyes. I continued to listen to him.
"I hope, that I can have another chance to make things right again," he said as he smiled one last time then he closed his eyes and breathed his last. I held his hand tightly as I called for the maids to announce it.
Do not fret your majesty, I believe that you will get another chance to be with the empress again, I thought as I watched them take his body and clean his room.

Achilles' POV
"Your Highness! Please wake up already!" I heard a voice as I turned my body to the side. Then someone shook me and then a cold thing touched me that made me jump out of the bed.
"Who did that?!" I shouted as I looked around. And there, I saw Felix with his usual poker face. He held the Ice that he was holding. I frowned as I looked at Felix.
Why does he look young? Like super young I asked my thoughts as I stared at Felix. He held the Ice and he slapped it on my face.
"Ouch! The Ice can burn my face you know!" I said. Felix didn't react and he just left my room. Speaking of room, I looked around and I saw my old bedroom. The room that I used before I became the emperor.
"What?" I asked as I looked around. I still remember everything in this room because I loved this room the most. I looked at the mirror and I saw my young self again. I shrieked when I saw myself in the mirror.
"Why do I look young?!" I asked aloud. Felix poked his head inside the room and he looked at me as If I was crazy or something.
"Your highness, have you gone mad already? It is because you are young," he said. I went towards him and I held his shoulder.
"Felix! What year is it right now?" I asked him. Now he looked confused more than ever.
"It is currently year x829, your highness," he said. I let him go after that. This is the year before Alanta and I got married, I thought as I went to my table. Oh, you don't have to worry, I got dressed after asking Felix about the year.
As I thought about those things, the door of my bedroom opened revealing her. The woman I have ever loved, the woman that I love, and the woman that I will ever love in the future.
"Alanta…" I spoke her name as I can feel tears coming out of my eyes.
