Counter Attacks

Brent, Saiko, and Ben sat on a sofa in the Empire State's main hall. They all betrayed Neil's team simultaneously, coming together at the same spot.

"So... Are you guys volunteers?"

On a chair opposite them sits a man in a terrorist suit, with his terribly half-burnt face, the kind that will scare people away from him. Wondering about the identity of these three mysterious teenagers, he starts his investigation.

"...Yes...Probably." Saiko, the teenager in the middle, answered.

"Probably?"

"We are... you could say.. switches sides?"

...

"Oh! You betrayed your friends! That's a good one."

"Yeah, you could say that."

Saiko awkwardly laughed it off.

"Is it weird? That all three of you despite being separated from each other can somehow coincidentally ditch the plan and betray your team at almost the same time? As if you all knew when it would happen."

...

The three of them look at each other hesitantly.

"We... have discussed this earlier."

"What did you discuss?"

"We talked, that our small number of members in the team, cannot win over an entire company of armed... 'soldiers'. And that no matter how careful the plan is, there could always be a mistake and a high risk of failing, and if that happens, we don't know what terrible things will happen to us."

He pauses to take a breath.

"And as we guess it, his plan failed. So before we even start this, we decided that instead of risking our lives to follow the stupid plan of fighting back your organization, we will find the right time and opportunity, to turn the others in, in return for three of us to join you and be safe."

After Saiko finished his speech, the terrorist was almost jaw-dropped by this kid's talent. Not only is he confident talking to dangerous people like him, but he also speaks fluently, with clear and solid reasoning.

"You guys... made the right decision. You're smart, say, is this entire plan your idea?"

"...No." Saiko rolls his eyes. "It wasn't my idea. Brent, he came up with it."

"Huh? Oh, yeah! It was me who came up with this genius plan!" Brent didn't know what Saiko was talking about, but he decided to play along. "I knew that bastard Neil and his subordinate can't be trusted in the first place!"

Then, Brent started bragging about his intelligence, claiming it was all his idea, and everything from start to finish was under his control. A few minutes later, after he finished speaking, the man immediately turned back to Saiko.

"So, you guys came all the way here just to ensure your safety, what would happen after we left?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean we can't stay here forever, after a few days, we will leave this city, using some underground or underwater tunnels already prepared for us, after we make sure that the US declares war on the Soviet Union. But you, are not one of us, so what will you do? Go back to your home as if nothing ever happened? Or..."

He stops and waits for an answer from Saiko.

"Will you, let us leave?"

"... Who knows? You know about our plans, about our intentions, if you leave, who knows what you will talk to others, who can make sure that you will keep your mouth shut, for the rest of your life? - Or, you could come to Russia with us."

"Why?"

"For World War 3 that is coming, the USSR Army will need a lot of personnel, and I believe that you three could be some good help. That is if you are willing to learn Russian."

Hearing this made both Brent and Ben a little concerned. If they agree, they would have to say goodbye to their home, their parents, and move to a new country, have a new home, and learn a new language, all just to make sure that these terrorists won't kill them to cover up.

"We-"

"Я принимаю. (I accept)" Saiko suddenly speaks, leaving the terrorist bewildered.

"Ты говоришь по-русски? (You can speak Russian?)"

"Да, всего лишь немного. Я не использовал его с тех пор, как приехал в США, будучи ещё молодым. (Yeah, just a little. I haven't use it since I came to the US when I was young.)"

"Отлично! Я действительно подумал, что ты американец. Ты пытаешься вернуться домой? (Amazing! I really thought you were American. Are you trying to get back home?)"

"Не совсем, но я бы хотел попросить у тебя одолжения. (Not exactly, but I would like to ask you for a favor.)"

"?"

"Если бы я вернулся в Россию, мне бы хотелось, чтобы ты... (If I were to go back to Russia, I would like you to...)"

While the two of them spoke in Russian, a language that Ben couldn't understand, he decided to wait until they were done. Meanwhile, his attention shifted to the man's half-burnt face, wondering what terrible things had caused such a severe injury.

After a while, Saiko finished his discussion with the man. He stepped back and let the terrorist continue his business.

"Ok then, I still can't believe that we found someone as rare as you, would like to see you back at home."

"Thanks."

"K. How about you two? Do you want to stay, or go with us?"

"Before that, may I ask you a question? I don't want to be offensive."

"... Go for it."

"What happened to your face?"

"This?" The man points to his burnt face. "Don't worry, this is just not an injury, it's a victory mark, this is something I got when I was kidnapping the President, this proves that we are unstoppable."

"Oh... Ok..."

"So, what is your decision-"

"WE GOT AN INTRUDER!"

Suddenly, another terrorist rushes in with big news. Immediately, the man with the half-burnt face (AKA the one in charge of all the terrorists) stands up.

"Sir! We got an intruder coming in or, we don't know if he's outside or he's already inside!" He speaks while breathing heavily.

"How the fuck does nobody knows if he's inside or outside, what about the guards?"

"We don't know sir, someone just reported to us just a minute ago. We don't know because the reporter doesn't know either. The intruder could be sneaky, disguising as one of us!"

Hearing this, Brent began to recognize something, or more specifically, someone, which he had forgotten existed: "Oh... shit."

"Why did he come here anyway?"

When the terrorist inquired, the commander with a half-burned face immediately thought about the ones recently captured by the leader Gabriel.

"He is coming... for them! Contact the leader! And send more men to protect him immediately! Make sure that-"

BANG!

A gunshot rang out, and then several more followed. Judging by the direction and volume, the commander figured it might be somewhere on the two floors near him.

"He's already inside. All of you!" He shouts at all the terrorists in the room. "Go after the gunshot! Find and kill that intruder!"

"You." He goes back to the trio. "Stay here."

Then walks away, leaving the three confused about what they should do.

-----------------------------------

BANG!

"What the hell is that?"

Just as Gabriel starts to wonder, the walkie-talkie in his pocket speaks up.

"Sir! We have an intruder coming in! He's already inside the building! Be careful of the hostages, he may be coming for them-"

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The other end goes silent after the gunshots.

"Hello? Hello?! Is anyone there?!"

"Well, you look at that. Looks like your plan is going down the drain anyways."

"Is this, all your idea?" Gabriel questions Neil.

"No, but's it your mistake for underestimating us. Do you expect us to risk our lives going into your secret lair without at least 3 backup plans? Do you really think that you have found all of us and that we are that stupid to go all inside?"

"???"

"Even worse, you really think that I would let someone like you tie me onto a chair, without any intention, or tricks to get out?"

As Neil talks, Gabriel quickly gets overwhelmed by the situation and confused by what he's saying.

"What are you- shit!"

Suddenly, Neil quickly jumps out of his chair, using some tricks he had up his sleeves to free himself just minutes ago, and then rushes towards Gabriel.

The terrorist leader is surprised by the sudden attack and doesn't have a chance to react as Neil brutally pushes his body against the wall, using one hand to strangle Gabriel's neck.

"ACKK!"

"Mister President!"

Neil signals for President Mikael. Just a second after he jumps out of his chair, he swiftly throws a small knife that he used to free himself onto the president's lap.

Understanding the situation, the president quickly tries to grab the small knife, even though his hands are still tied to the chair. He struggles to move the tiny knife, the size of a finger, to his hands using just his feet.

"VA-SI-LIA!"

"Shut up!"

Answering Gabriel's call, Vasilia burst into the room, despite hearing some noise at first, she didn't go in until Gabriel yelled. Upon entering, she immediately sees the President struggling to get the knife.

"You're not going anywhere!"

And decided not to let that happen, then, before she could do anything, Neil used his leg and kicked her down to the ground, the President used his right leg to step on her stomach and push Vasilia down, stopping her from standing up.

"Get your fucking leg off me!"

With all four adults occupied in fighting each other, Chad takes his chance to be the free one and approaches the President, trying to get the small knife on his lap.

Then...

CHUF! CHUF!! CHUF!!!

"What the hell is that?"

As the sudden strange noise grabs their attention, all five of them look out into the window while still fighting each other.

CHUF! CHUF!! CHUF!!!

And witness, a civilian helicopter, armed with Gatling guns, right outside the window.

"Holy Shit! EVERYONE GET DOWN!"

BBBBRRRRRRRR!!!!!

The chopper opens fire regardless of whoever is inside the room. Neil immediately releases Gabriel and jumps back to the President's and Chad's side just a second before the bullets rain down, shattering the floor and the door with deafening sounds.

BBBBRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Everyone tries to move their bodies nearer to the walls to avoid being hit. Amidst the chaos, Neil quickly grabs the small knife that fell on the floor and uses it to cut the ropes that tie the President and Chad to their chairs.

"Go! Go! Go!"

As soon as they are freed, Neil pushes them to move out as fast as they can through the shattered door while they still have the chance.

The firing continues for seconds, but strangely enough, after Neil and his team successfully fleed, the armed helicopter flies away from the floor, leaving Gabriel and Vasilia still lying on the ground out of fear.

"Who the fuck was in that helo?!"

Gabriel furiously wonders. But he has a more important issue to care about, the most dangerous man, Neil Phildom, and his comrades, have escaped.
