WSD Loves Money!

At some point during the war, he unintentionally got a commanding officer killed. On top of that, the other party had ties with the High ranked Royal blood.

As a commoner, it was an unforgivable act he has committed. Even if nobody had learned his origins yet, it was impossible not to take into account that there are numerous eyes spying on him. It would be easier to learn his secret if one digs deeper into his background.

He planned on escaping but he was unable to let go of his ties with the Hariya Academy, the place where he had built all his achievements.

How could he simply let all those glories go to waste?

On the same night that he tried to flee, he was caught through the help of his fellow students who are envious of him. They reported where his whereabouts and got his belongings confiscated. But, considering the circumstances at a time of war, and the nation's goodwill, he was done after serving 2 years in the Royal Prison.

However, Spencer has lost the path to climb in ranks.

He was shown signs of dislike from every authority or any establishment; he couldn't even join a decent union to work as a simple laborer.

There were no merchants who would not care about the feelings of the nobles.

Especially the big-time merchants who lead the unions.

The ex-convict, Spencer the Cheetah turned into a sewer rat hoping to live his life while avoiding people's eyes. Over time he adopted several names to hide his real identity.

He really wanted to cross over to the enemy's country where they speak a language he doesn't understand, but as if he wasn't miserable enough, he was stuck with the strong sense of patriotism he developed from serving in the army.

Moreover, he was confident that he was loved by the Heavenly God but is also certain that this God only cared about keeping him alive.

What happens next is none of that God's concerns.

Where should a hated man, go?

In the end, he returned to his hometown, living in obscurity as a broken man defeated in life.

Until Harak the leader of the Westside Diamonds Gang discovered him. Harak persuaded him to return to Ragoria and exact an act of revenge against the nobles. Eventually, Spencer became their member, but soon he gradually lost his vision of revenge, and then just drifted day by day for the sake of money.

Time went by, his greed for money continued to grow, he became one of its core members adhering to its golden rule: Money before anything else.

But on this day, a familiar name he has once been so proud of came being mentioned by this person who is currently holding a death threat—Gun pointed at his face.

"Why are you looking for him?"

There is a mixture of dread and hostility for he felt apprehensive and aggressive within his reply, but Jayce is unfazed. He dealt with a lot of these kinds of pressure on a daily basis and the first thing he thought of is to smirk.

"Hmph. Easy there punk! You'll grow some fangs with that glare. Didn't your momma tell you to be nice?"

Jayce coyly snudged as if the two of them were long-time pals.

Snicker.

Spencer is annoyed just by hearing Jayce speak. He truly wanted to know why this guy is looking for him. He even thought that perhaps Jayce had beaten his comrades into pulp just to look for him?

But no.

He already knew that Jayce is probably looking for those sacked people that the Men in suits were carrying as they ordered them to guard this place.

"Seems like I've hit a sore spot did I? I wonder what is your relationship with that Spencer dude. Don't tell me you are his rumored lover?"

Of course, that was just a joke. Jayce is just probing Spencer to speak more as he tried aiming the Gun at a better angle. And his frustration grew as he felt that even closing his other eye won't help him.

There is some truth that Jayce never wanted to admit.

The truth was, he sucked Big time with guns! That is why he rarely even uses it and prefers to use his fists instead. But a few people only knew this weakness of him.

In fact, he is too embarrassed to even admit or that most people who knew had already died.

'Yeah... that's right. Using a gun doesn't suit me. I hope they would just tuck their tails and run away...'

Jayce sincerely hoped as he thought of many tricks on how he could intimidate the remaining Westside Diamonds Gang.

He looked at Harak, to Spencer, and the other baldies. Jayce could only conclude that with their fierce eyes with no hope of surrender, he could only do it in a rough way.

"Fine... I don't really like some bloodshed tonight. For I fear that I might have to bloody my hands later. You guys love money ain't that right? So tell me, is a thousand Gold credits enough for you guys to leave this place?"

Jayce made an offer and the members of the Westside Gang eye's suddenly softened upon hearing the sweet word, credits.

For the first time in a while, Jayce regretted solving his problem through his fists.

'Fuck! are they kidding me with those eyes? I should've told em' from the start!'

But as if reminded of something, Jayce remembered his entrance.

'No! wait. Haven't I told em' in the beginning?'

It is pointless to bring that up. That didn't matter since the other party seems to like his offer now.

As easy as counting sheep, people's hearts could easily sway. Harak definitely knew of this and how his brothers need to keep their dignity out of being single-handedly bullied by one man, he plans on agreeing and just taking the money.

He might have to cut his deal with those men in black suits but that is a small price to pay for this kind of shame tainted on the history of Westside Diamonds Gang.

Calming his raging heart, Harak stuttered at first but eventually managed to utter a short reply.

"Fine, we accept!"

Harak relented and ordered his men to give way and a smile rose from the depths of Jayce's heart as he is successful in hiding his embarrassing weakness. No longer the need of using his gun to finish them off, he smugly walked slowly on the opening path laid out for him, then he tossed a golden card towards Harak while saying,

"You should've agreed the first time I said so. Hmph."

He did not forget to remark as his receding back gradually left, leaving behind the remaining Westside Diamonds Gang dumbfounded.

After the small distraction settled, Jayce is now officially back on his way to rescue Fiel Bancroft. He is once again reminded about what the hood would always say with the westside diamond gang: WSD Loves Money! Money is their God!

And it couldn't be more real than this.
