*Knock Knock*
"Elizabeth? It's me, Rudy." I finish getting dressed for work before opening the door for Rudy.
"Hey, come in." He walks in and starts looking around before finding a seat on my bed.
"Thanks again for letting me join you today." He says still eyeing my room. I smile at him before saying,
"Yeah, it's fine with me. I hope it won't be too boring for you." He shakes his head.
"Nope. Spending time with you will be all I've been hoping for, for a long time." He stands up before staring at me a little and then walking out of my room.
"Uh. Ahem... Thanks for that. Ready to leave I presume?" I start walking out as well, still a little flustered before leading him outside to my main vehicle.
Before I even get the chance to go to the driver's side of the car, Rudy runs and opens the door for me. I giggle with my hand covering my mouth before sitting and saying thank you.
He then sits and we leave for the office.
After arriving, Rudy hops out again and opens the door for me and I thank him again.
"So, hope the place looks better than you imagined it to be." I say as we walk towards it. He's still staring up at the building seeing as it's about 45 stories tall.
"I know, tall isn't it." He still doesn't say anything and just nods his head slowly so I laugh again and this time he looks at me.
"What?"
"You're cute." He seems to blush before speed walking away. "Hey, wait up!!" I start after him.
After finally reaching my office, my secretary comes in talking about the issues I've been trying to stay away from while Rudy is seated by the window looking out.
"Madam, the current issues of the day are sort of tiring I know but first things first-" I interrupt him.
"I know, I know... we need to focus more on sales. Sales first before trying to make completely new pieces." I put my chin in my hand while resting my elbow on the desk staring at Rudy.
"Madam? You okay?" My secretary says while staring back and forth between me and Rudy. "Oh right, he's one of your candidates isn't he? Would you like some tea sir?" He says directing the question at Rudy. He turns and looks at him before nodding slowly and the secretary leaves with haste to go do so.
"Sigh." Rudy looks at me cocking his head before standing and walking over to my desk to stop right in front of my viewpoint.
"Elizabeth? I know this kind of work is tedious so there must be something I can do to help?" He says seemingly concerned for me and I smile a little solemnly and he then sighs.
"Thanks Rudy. If you could actually, could you possibly take this phone," I hand my work phone to him alongside a sheet with the different numbers that are for the different departments, "and dial this number. It's my sales department head's work phone. And if possible, could you get her to come up here so I can talk with her?" He raises his hand to meet with his forehead like he's saluting.
"Yes Ma'am!" He says before taking the phone and walking to the small separated "resting" room I have to my office, to take the call.
"Sir, I have your-" My secretary walks in with the tea-tray in hand looking around the room for Rudy.
"He's taking a call for me." He nods before placing the tray nicely on the table before walking over to my desk.
"Ma'am. There is another thing that needs your addressing." He says pushing his glasses up more on his nose before staring at me seriously. I immediately know what he's talking about.
"When did he call?" I say with clenched teeth.
"Um... just today. He said he heard about this whole candidacy thing and-" I interrupt him again.
"Let me guess... he doesn't approve because he's the only person I could possibly be with," I say really upset. The secretary clearly can tell I'm upset because he starts slowly stepping away from my desk.
"Um... yes. Want the phone?" I let out a long breath before nodding silently and he hands me my other phone.
"Thanks." He nods himself before silently walking out of the office. Rudy walks back in and before he can even say anything, I can tell he saw the look on my face because the next thing he did was he threw the work phone I gave him, on the sofa in my office and ran over to my side.
"Something wrong Elizabeth?" He says patting my shoulder.
"Ugh. A nuisance in my life. I once dated a man named Nathan Hertz about 4 years ago. We dated for 3 years and then he became a ruthless, selfish, overprotective man. Someone completely different than when I met him in college. That caused me to finally decide it was best to break up and so, I didn't date anyone for about a year before my grandfather finally gave up and wanted me to marry someone. And now, we're here." I say sighing some more. Rudy pats my back.
"Oh.... so what does that have to do with why you're upset now?" He asks.
"Because... he keeps trying to say that he's a "changed" person now and that he hopes I'll come back. Now, it's even worse, because he heard that I have this marriage candidacy thing and so he believes he's the only one for me. Yes, he's rich so he's well-fitted but... I'm over him now." I say before resting my head on my desk. Rudy then walks to stand behind me before resting his hands on my shoulders.
"You should breathe first. And then, you should- you know what... I shouldn't continue. It's not really kid-friendly." He says nonchalantly and I laugh in response.
"Thanks for that Rudy."
"But seriously, he can't say that when clearly you said it was over. It's only common courtesy to respect others' wishes." I shake my head.
"I don't... know. He really changed and I don't know what to do because he doesn't seem like he will stop, ever." He starts massaging my shoulders while I just stay down with my head on the desk sighing.
"Well, for now, maybe we should just... forget him and worry about the other things that are important yeah?" He stops before pulling me up by my shoulders, and then he spins my chair around so I'd face him. He holds both armrests with his hands before hovering over me. I of course blush while looking at him.
No matter if he's younger than me, he still is taller and of course handsome. It's sort of hard to not blush at this point.
"Uh. Rudy?" I say still blushing.
"Maybe forgetting through distraction is the best way to do that." He gets so close that I swear I can feel his breath before he kisses my cheek and then backs away smirking. "See, I'm sure you've forgotten now.
"Forgotten what?" I say blushing crazily before Rudy laughs and I cover my face with my hands shyly.
"HAHAHA!! You seriously did forget?" He is still laughing and I blow a raspberry at him.
While we're both laughing, the sales department head walks in really tired and out of breath.
