The following day as Romulus promised I had 4 seamstress's show up at the door. When they got there Romulus told me he would be back later in the day. He would be back in the late afternoon to walk me to the ceremony. As he left he made sure to pull me in close and gave me a deep kiss. When he let me go the seamstress's were all blushing and acting shy.
As they all measured me and we began talking about fabrics, they teased me about my first night with the famous Romulus, and his brother Remus. I giggled at first but then it hit me. Romulus has a brother. When I asked about him the women began laughing and teasing me more but for the most part, out of all their jeering this is the story I was able to piece together.
Romulus and Remus
Romulus and Remus are twins. They were put in a basket and floated down the River Tiber as babies. A female wolf and she nursed them for a short time. Eventually though they were found by a shepherd who raised the boys from there.
When they were old enough they decided to found a city where the female wolf had found them. However, the brothers quarreled over where the site should be. The brothers were still having issues making up their minds.
According to the ladies, they think I may end up being their tie braker. We are very near where the boys were found by the female wolf. It will be up to me and my soon to be husband where we will truly build our city. The women seemed very impressed with this fact alone. Like I had the upmost respect due to my influence over Romulus.
After the women were through and I had seen them out, I was sitting down on the bed and laughing off this stupid conversation. I laid back on the bed and breathed out slowly. I had taken a rest to early. All of a sudden the door flew open and Romulus came barging into the room.
He came straight at me and slammed his hand on my throat, throwing me back onto the bed. I could not even scream! He was choking me, hard! He smelled me and brought his hand down my chest to my breasts. "I bet you think I am Romulus. Well guess what, I am not. I am Remus. Your soon to be brother in law. My brother seems to think that marrying you will give him some sort of advantage. I wonder how he will feel knowing that I am the father of your children."
My eyes became the size of saucers. I did not know what to do to get out of this situation. He loosened his grip slightly. "Oh, don't look so scared! I promise to be gentle. As long as you do not fight me. You might even enjoy it." He grabbed the hang over of my toga that went over my arm and tore off my toga completely. At the moment I was trying to concentrate on breathing. I did not care I was naked.
My mind was going one hundred to nothing. He straddled me and began letting out his little beast. He was so busy trying to release his little demand that he only had the one hand holding me down by my neck. I quickly jerked up my knee just as hard as I could. I heard a loud crunching noise and Remus fell off of me and onto the floor.
I laid there catching my breath. Romulus came through the door just them with a mighty grin on his face. The grin melted into a knowing look. I was clutching my throat, my torn toga was on the floor, and my aggressor was on the ground holding his jewels saying it was all my fault. "She came to me brother. She came onto me. She is not worth your time. Look how she lays there, still naked, after you have come into the room. She is not worthy of you."
Romulus walked up to me. He pulled my hand away from my throat. My entire neck had turned black and blue. I did not know it, but my breast had a bite mark where he had bitten me. Romulus hid his emotions well. He found my cup of water that was next to the bed and had me sip some of the water while he held the cup.
I thanked him, and Romulus put up one hand to me telling me to be quiet. Remus was walking around decently now. Romulus asked me to stand up. I did but I was not sure I was liking where this was going. Romulus pulled the blanket off that I had wrapped myself in. He put my torn toga back on. "My phoenix, could you please show my brother who you really are."
I was not sure but I thought I knew where he was going with this. I let myself light up. This time burning from my feet up. My dress repaired itself, and changed to red. My bruises on my neck healed themselves and I was able to talk again. When I extinguished the flame, even my hair had been styled to look adorable.
Remus looked on with his mouth agape. "You have to have my children. I will make you have my children." Romulus jumped up from his perch beside my bed. "So you dare admit, you tried to force my wife, on the day of our wedding no less!" Remus stared blank faced at Romulus. He did not give a reply. He looked back at me and his face turned dangerous.
I do not scare easy! But he scared me. I ran to the door, Remus beat me there. I ran towards the back door and Romulus caught me. He pushed me behind his back. Then stepping up to Remus he said, "I do not share my lovers. Not even with family. Make no mistake she is my wife. I want you at the wedding. However, I can and will make due. Will you support our union?"
Remus looked on in confusion. He really did look like someone had turned off the functioning parts of his brain. But the must have left on the blood lust parts because he looked deadly. He did answer this time though. "Yes my brother, let us go to your wedding." He opened the door for us to walk through.
Romulus and I walked arm and arm down to the rivers shore. There was an administer there to preform the ceremony. As we were saying our vow's neither of us noticed that Remus was slowly pulling out his sword. When the administer asked if anyone has any issue with our union, Remus spoke up. "I take issue! She is marrying the wrong brother! Therefore I challenge."
At that he took a swipe at Romulus. Romulus was able to dodge and he pushed me out of the way. Romulus did not have any weapons on him. This was our wedding ceremony after all. One of the farmers in the crowd that had begun to gather gave Romulus a sword. They fought like exports, trading blows and curses with each other.
After several minutes of this and them moving all over the place, Remus had gotten the upper hand. He had backed up towards me and the water wearing out Romulus. I had no where to move too. Remus grabbed me by my toga and yanked me into him. "I think I will take you right here in front of my dear brother. Maybe then I will get my point across. I am the better fighter."
He forced a kiss on me just as he blocked a thrust from Romulus. I was trying my hardest to push him off of me. But he would not let me go. Romulus had had enough of this farce. He stuck his sword in the ground and began walking off. Remus smiled and stuck his sword in the ground as well. Then forced me down to the ground. "I am taking you, right here, right now! In front of all these people. This will show you who the stronger brother is. It is me..."
Just as he was saying the last sentence a sword grew out of his neck. Romulus was standing there with his hand still on the pummel. "It is rude to take another mans bride on their wedding day. If anyone is going to take my wife." He pulled me out from under his brother with one arm. "It is going to me. Come here!" He kissed me like there was no tomorrow. The administer shouted "HUSBAND AND WIFE."
Romulus swept me off of my feet and carried me back to the little cottage we had been staying in. Romulus helped me to clean off his brothers blood off of me and my toga. Then he spent the rest of the night apologizing for his brother and all the trouble he caused. He told me storied about how the two of them grew up together. His brother was not really sex crazed idiot. Something had just come over him of late. Romulus wished I could have met him when they were younger and less full of ambition. Maybe just maybe things would not have boiled down to this.
It is so sad that his brother died the same day we were married. I said as much too. But Romulus swore to me, the problems between him and his brother were becoming to many to name. Remus would not agree on where we should build this city they both wanted. So now instead to honor his memory we will name the city Rome.
