Chapter 12

Harry whined holding a small red rubber ball in his mouth, Logan slung it across the den away from anything breakable.

After a few rounds, he lost interest and hid the ball behind a houseplant for safekeeping. He hunched over the desk trying to reach for the headband.

The damned dog swiped them and the reindeers bobbed when he hit the dirt, escaping through the dog flap.

"Damn it, Harry"

He rounded his desk and went after him, fortunately, he didn't go far.

His incessant barking filled the corridor, he glanced at the lady in a white cotton sweater and jeans, winter boots.

Harry dropped the headband at her feet and swished his tail, she picked it up stunned, and patted his head.

She took notice of him in a flannel lining tailored suit.

"Changed your mind?" Logan asked, the radiance on her face when she saw Harry vanished when she glanced at him, her eyes were full of contempt.

Keira brushed her hair behind her ear. "Yes"

He grinned, pleased that things were going his way.

"That was easy, wasn't it? This way" He dominated with his stature, Keira grimaced and followed by him into his office, lair...whatever, she marveled at the furniture and monochrome theme to his preference.

She settled on a chair made of the finest leather she had ever seen, the texture was nice.

The dog closed in on her, she couldn't take her eyes off his captivating blue ones, he was a very beautiful mixed breed, he had shiny golden brown fur, she lifted his dog tag "Harry"

Logan reached into his drawers and pulled out a ring, her eyes flickered at the clean-cut emerald caked with diamante.

The emerald looked real "I can't take that."

Logan prodded taking her hand, she gulped when he slid the jewel on her ring finger, despite his unexpected move, his fingers were very gentle on hers, they brushed hers lightly.

"I trust that you won't lose this ring, right?" He urged sternly, she was breathless and nodding shakily.

"Right"

"Good, we'll be meeting on the first day of December, I already have it planned out. Now we come to my conditions..."

A knock on the door cut him off abruptly, then followed a voice.

"Logan, you in there?"

That was Amy's voice, he glanced at Keira, her eyes enlarged.

They scrambled out of their seats

"Get in here," he said through clenched teeth, Keira moved behind the desk and he pushed her into the opening between the drawers and the other end. Her cheek brushed hard against his thigh and she rubbed it in annoyance.

The door opened and Amy Daniels walked in beaming at him, she flung her arms around him barely up on her toes. He smirked, returning her hug, she was a wildcard and a kickass snowboarder.

"You're not looking so bad yourself." He announced and wiped the excess eyeliner smudged off corner of her eye.

She punched him playfully on the arm  "I lost a bet with a friend, I'm going punk for a day"

She turned at the noise coming from his desk.

"What was that?"
