Chapter 24

"Logan"

She tapped him and he woke up wiping his mouth, he got up quickly wrapping his coat around Harry rubbing his head.

"Goodnight"

He dragged his feet to the hallway, Keira switched off the TV hurrying after him, she gasped when he raised the sheets and rolled in with his socks on.

"No, not here" She whispered, Sam was across from her room and she might wake up to this.

He was groggy without sleep, from the delicate light from the lamp, she saw the etching of his day-old beard sprouting.

"Logan_"

'"Where do you want me to sleep? The floor? That's what Harry's for" He covered himself from the shoulders down, lying on his side. The bed could barely contain his height, his feet were sticking out.

She heard him murmuring something and then flicked off the lamp, she stiffened in the dark, she crawled to her side and settled in the sheets, stirring from lack of sleep.

"Would you stop flinging?" He groaned.

He was a light sleeper, she thought. His broad back to her, with his cologne tempting her to move closer to get at what it was. She froze when his voice rumbled.

"I want you.."

The rest of what he said was inaudible.

"What?"

She winced when he rolled over, his body hanging over her.

"I want you and Sam to come with my family to the winter resort. It's winter month"

She blushed, his voice was fleeting and sluggish, it felt like it was the first time listening to him. She got a tinge of his cologne, pine.

"I am not the sporty type, Sam would be delighted"

She sighed, it seemed like time stopped with him being present and she had a hard time breathing, he was silent for a moment and she thought he might have fallen asleep.

"Why?"

She gulped "I haven't picked up a board in years" the last time she went snowboarding with Sam, she broke an ankle.

"Why aren't you coming?"

She sat up "Are you serious?"

He understood that the more people present, the more likely she was to go with him without feeling precarious.

"Is this why you came all this way?"

He grinned thinking back to the time at the den.

"Yes"

She settled back listlessly "Well, I haven't thanked you for helping us set up the festoon"

He rested his hand on his head, bolstered on one elbow over her.

"You can thank me by showing up"

"We'll see"

It was snowing by daylight, they arrived at the Daniels' property, Sam hugged her ski equipment with her hair up in a beanie with visors and a red airtight winter jacket, black pants, and boots.

Amy spotted her squealing "You ski, too?"

"Slalom baby" Sam retorted smirking.

Melissa helped Barry while he struggled to pack up their equipment.

"Can't we just rent these when we get there?" He asked tossing a pole in locking the doors.

She giggled at him and joined them.

"You two act like teenagers"

She said passing Sam's stuff to Barry, he groaned and opened the backdoors to the van again

"Come on Mel Mel, live a little" Amy smiled with her whole facial muscles.

"I live how I want to and don't call me Mel Mel..."
