The overthrow of the Republic is complete. The Separist forces have been smashed, and the Jedi Council nearly decimated, and the rest of the Order all but destroyed. Now absolute power rests in the iron fist of Darth Sidious- the cunning Sith Lord better known as the Senator, now Emperor Palpatine. But more remains to be done. Pockets of Resistance in the galaxy must still be defeated and missing Jedi accounted for... and dealt with. These crucial tasks fall to Darth Vader. In turn, the Dark Lord has groomed a lethal female apprentice entrusted with a top secret mission to comb the galaxy and dispatch the last of her Master's enemies, thereby punctuating the dark side's victory with the Jedi's doom.

Star Wars: Choices of one.

As Ja-ni and Mara Jade walked down to the bridge they passed the flight deck and thought about Vader. 


Come to think of it he had never told her about his past. Ja-ni wanted to learn more. Who was the man that cut off his limbs? Who was he before becoming the Dark Lord? 


She just wanted more information about him, but she knew that Vader would not give her any information nor the Emperor. Ja-ni and Mara Jade looked at the personal Scarlet Speedster and stood there for a minute. 


Ja-ni and Mara Jade started up the controls and took off. 


Ja-ni looked back on what she did and it probably wasn't the best idea she had ever had. 


The Executor was chasing them and in this small ship they couldn't out run or battle it. She should know something that could stop it from chasing her. They turned around and put all power on forward shield's and hoped this idea would work. 


Tagge watched the ship come towards him as he ducked and the ship passed them. Where is the ship now? Said Tagge. An officer responded. Sir the ship has disappeared. 


Vader had just stepped onto the bridge. Tagge dropped to his feet. Sir I am sorry but we have the ship. Said Tagge. Tagge was getting ready for the Force choke that Vader had put on other officer's that had failed him, but it never came. 


Vader was to preoccupied by his apprentice and Mara Jade jumping ship. He could not sense their presence he thought to himself. He would inform the Emperor and maybe he would know where they went. 


In the shadows of the Executor Ja-ni and Mara Jade had attached their ship to where the sensors would not detect them. They was real glad that they remembered to dissertation the transmitter that they put on the ship. They had remembered Imperial procedure that before they went into hyperspace they would dump the thrash. The hatch opened and there went the garbage. Now they detected themselves and would float away like the rest of the garbage. 


They jumped into hyperspace and Ja-ni and Mara Jade was safe. The only place they could think to start their search was the only planet that gave birth to the Empire, Coruscant. They started the engines and into hyperspace towards Coruscant. 


Back on the Executor Vader kneeled before the image of his Master. 


The Emperor had his eyes closed and was searching the Force to see where Ja-ni and Mara Jade was located. I see them on Coruscant searching for records of your past. But do not go to them. They will sense you and run away. Let me go to them because I can persaude them better than you can. Said Emperor Palpatine. 


Yes, my Master. Replied Vader. The image disappeared and Vader knew he could not let his Master get to them before him. Because they disobeyed him his Master would certainly destroy them. He turned around and the visor screen showed the image of Tagge once again. Commander Tagge. Said Darth Vader. 


Yes, Lord Vader. Replied Commander Tagge. 


I wanted to be on Coruscant an hour ago. Said Darth Vader. 


At once my Lord. Replied Commander Tagge.
