The day after (Part I)

Amanda.

She woke up at 9. It was Christmas.

She got out of bed and rushed straight downstairs. Whatever things were going on with her heart, The thrill of getting presents was a whole different thing.

"Merry Christmas,"

"Come, Amanda. Look at all the presents piled up under the tree,"

"Ooh, this pile is thicker than last year's!" Amy clapped her hands in delight.

"Yeah, here." Carlos handed her a thin, dark blue box.

"Is this from you?" Amanda asked.

"Nope. Find out for yourself."

Amanda opened the box as it wasn't wrapped in gift paper or anything.

A beautiful necklace came into her view.

It was silver with a tiny 'infinity' sign in emerald green color hanging from it.

There was a note beneath it.

Merry Christmas, Amy.

P.S I hope you're not mad at me even though I know you actually are mad. But still.

Later.

Seriously?

Only one person can write a note like this, In the whole wide world.

And yes, that's Mr. Ansel Luck. And he didn't even write his name.

She let out a chuckle.

"Who's it from?" Carlos asked.

"Ansel." She replied, unable to hide her smile.

Carlos raised his eyebrows knowingly.

"Shut up." She mouthed.

"Okay, now presents time!" The whole family gathered around the Christmas tree to open up their presents.

Ansel.

Meanwhile, At Luck's residence, Alex was tearing open his presents. Bella was sitting beside him watching him with a smile on her face.

Ansel was lying lazily on the couch in front of the television. Mr. and Mrs. Luck were sitting beside him.

"When'll you open your presents?" Bella asked.

"When I'll feel like it." He replied.

"Can I open them?" Alex asked.

Ansel looked at him then nodded.

"Seriously?"

"Yep."

Alex went over to his pile and started opening his presents.

Their parents went out of the living room to prepare breakfast.

Bella went over to Ansel and sat down beside him.

"Is everything okay?" She asked.

Ansel looked over at her and shrugged.

"What?"

"I kissed someone, and now I'm confused,"

"You. confused?" Bella asked, incredulously.

"Yeah, because I'm feeling something I never felt before,"

"And what is that?"

"I don't know, like attraction?" He sat up straight.

"Ansel, what do you mean?"

"God, I mean I guess I really like her or something." He looked at her.

"What?"

"Whatever, I don't know." Ansel got up and left the living room.

"Ansel?" Bella called.

"What?" He had reached the stairs.

"Whose the girl?"

"I can't tell you,"

"I know!" This was said by none other than Alex Luck.

"Who?" Bella turned towards him.

"Amy." He grinned toothily at Ansel, who was still standing between the stairs and living room.

"Shut up, Alex."

"I saw you kiss her!"

"When?" Bella demanded.

"Yesterday."

"How the f--,"

"Do not swear in front of him!" Bella warned Ansel.

"Weren't you asleep?" Ansel demanded, stepping into the living room.

"No, I was looking outside the window to see if Santa was coming and I saw you kiss her,"

"Fuck."

"Ansel!"

"Whatever, I'm outta here." With that, he turned and left.

Amanda.

Amy was stacking up the breakfast dishes when her phone pinged.

Jung

He had texted her.

I'm outside.

"Oh, God." She left the dishes on the table and went towards the living room window.

There he was, dressed in a black jacket and blue jeans. His hair was messy. He saw her and waved.

"Mom! I'm going outside. Be back in a minute!"

"Why?" Her mom entered the living room and demanded.

"My friend's outside,"

"That boy?" She asked.

"Yep." Amy nodded and made her way towards the door to avoid further questions.

She stepped out, It was freezing.

"Hi," Jung stepped towards her.

"Hi," She had started shivering because she had forgotten to wear her jacket.

"Amy, I know you're mad at me."

"Are you here to explain?" She demanded, folding her arms.

"Yes,"

"Okay, explain,"

"Amy, I would never cheat on you. Last night, It wasn't me... I mean that girl just came and kissed me and she won't stop when I tried to push her away,"

"Can you prove it?" Amy demanded.

"Don't you trust me?" He asked, looking into her eyes.

"Why should I trust you?"

"Because I really like you." Jung sat down on his knees and held out his hand to her.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.

Amy looked at him, her eyes wide.

"Jung?"

"Trust me, You're the girl I want,"

"Oh my god." Amy placed her hands over her face.

"Hey, don't hide that beautiful face of yours,"

She removed her hands and looked down at him.

"You sure?" She asked.

"Of course," She placed her hand in his.

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend,"

"Really?"

"Yes, and I trust you," Amy smiled.

Jung stood up and enveloped her in a hug.

"God, you're freezing," He started rubbing her back as if to warm her.

"Feels good," Amy whispered, He laughed.

"Yeah?"

"Mhmm."

He pulled away and cupped her face in his hands.

"You're beautiful." He whispered and leaned in.

But she turned her face away.

"You haven't forgiven me yet?" He demanded softly.

"No... It's not that. My mom, she's probably spying on us,"

Jung's eyes traveled to the living room's window.

"You're right. You take after your mother actually,"

Amy laughed and kissed him on the cheek.

"I'll go inside now." He smiled and nodded.

Amy turned and walked back towards the house. She opened the door.

"Amy!" Jung called, she turned to face him.

"I'll call you." He mouthed.

She smiled, He was her boyfriend now. They both liked each other and maybe they'll fall in love one day.

Who knows?

She sent him a flying kiss, waved, and went inside.

"That was your friend?" As soon as she entered the house her mom asked.

"My boyfriend," She replied.

"Asian?"

"Korean-American,"

"When do we get to meet him?"

"I don't know, soon?"

"Invite him over to dinner,"

"Like, today?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, it's Christmas after all," Mrs. Wealth smiled.

"Okay, I'll let you know,"

"Good, Carlos is bringing over his mystery girlfriend too,"

"Oh wow.Seriously?"

"Yep."

"Good, If Jung doesn't have any plans for today I'll invite him over," Amy smiled and kissed her mom on the cheek.

"It's nice to see you so happy,"

"Thank you, Mom."

Ansel.

He was standing by his window.

That guy from the party, probably Jung was just leaving.

So they made up. That's good.

But why was he feeling an uneasiness in his chest?

"Ansel?" Bella entered his room.

"Knock before you come," He said, softly.

"Are you okay? You didn't yell," Bella reached him and placed her hand over his shoulder.

"Yeah."

"Whom are you spying at?" She demanded.

"Why would I spy on anyone?"

"Looks like you were spying on Amy," Bella grinned.

"Nah, why would I do that?" He looked down at her and asked.

"Um... because you kissed her last night and you have a feeling that you like her," Bella replied like she was reading a news bulletin.

"Come on, Bels." He wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"Actually, I had something to tell you,"

"Yeah?"

"Well, I'm going over to my boyfriend's to have dinner,"

"Your mystery boyfriend?" Ansel asked.

"Yup, and now I'm going to tell you who's my boyfriend."

"Okay," Ansel nodded and looked down at her.

She was telling him, and Ansel's eyebrows completely disappeared in his bangs.

Jung.

He finally asked her to be his girlfriend. He was so damn happy.

This is the best Christmas ever.

He called his mother.

"Eomma, Do you remember that girl I told you about?" He asked.

His mother said something from the other hand.

"We're going out now, I'm so happy today."

He kept on talking to his mom who was in Korea at the moment.

He was happy. Really happy.
