Lucien left the following morning before Aliana and the sun was up. He was not keen on getting caught by her maids or any of the sailors patrolling the passageways. Lucien dressed quickly and caressed the sleeping princess' face, he smiled faintly and left quietly after that.
The ship was quiet and the lanterns were barely lit in the passageways as Lucien made his way to his own room. On light feet, Lucien walked as quickly as possible. Not a soul crossed his path as he followed the maze of passageways that rocked and creaked every so often with the waves outside.
Lucien loved ships and the ocean, he was sad they brought the woman he loved so much pain. Aliana was strong in every sense of the word but holding her and watching tears run down her face broke Lucien's heart. Being strong for someone like Aliana was a large role to fill, she was going to be queen and that thought was on his mind a lot.
