Once everyone settled into the inn, Aliana soaked in her bath and sighed. It was needed after a long day of travel. The snowstorm finally reached them and the icy wind howled and pitched the trees into a fit. A giant oak scratched the window of Aliana's room, startling her out of her daydream. She stretched her arms over her head and got comfortable again.
There was a firm knock on the door and Edith answered it, only opening it a small crack.
"It's Tristan," Edith whispered. "Should I let him in?"
Aliana nodded and Edith opened the door to let the Duke in. Edith slinked out of the room and Tristan locked it after her.
