Chapter Two: Hunting

[A/N: Forgot to mention, every level in an occupation will grant a stat point that's related to their job, for example, a Farmer would get a stat point in one of the following attributes: Strength, Vitality, or Dexterity or a Blacksmith would get a point in Strength or Dexterity]

[A/N: I also forgot to add in that willpower is an attribute, which I went back and added in]

Once I reached the woods just outside my small village, I tried to follow the dirt road, but due to age and the lack of travelers, the path has long since begun disappearing with all kinds of greenery covering and burying the road, making it nearly impossible to follow.

So, I had to resort to just heading into the forest and going in the general direction of the city.

And as I walked through the forest, I made sure to hunt when I could for food and for the small game's pelt and fur which I would be able to sell in the city.

I even got some notifications from the system!

[Do you wish to obtain the Butcher Occupation?]

Yes.

[You have gained the occupational skill, Fine Cut(1)]

[Do you wish to obtain the Survivor Occupation?]

Yes...?

Had no idea it was considered an occupation...

[You have gained the occupational skill, Danger Sense(1)]

[Hunter Occupation has leveled up, you gained 1 AP(Attribute Point) in Perception!]

So, just from two days of walking, I gained two new occupational classes, as I will now call them, and even a level in the hunter occupational class gaining me a point in perception, I couldn't use traps since I was constantly on the move, and if I did use any traps, it was during the night when I would set up camp and sleep.

And from my traps, I have only managed to catch a single rabbit which I butchered and cooked for breakfast the next morning on the third day of traveling.

[You have gained the general skill, Cooking(1)]

A skill which I would gladly take due to its usefulness.

One of the villagers in my village had their cooking skill up to the 40s and their food was just too good, almost as good as the modern food in my first life.

Sadly, this world lacked a lot of the necessary ingredients to make modern food.

Mostly spices and a few other things.

Salt was even a luxury in this world, which made me quite mad upon reincarnating here since salt not only helped preserve food, it also enhanced most food's flavor, which only made me miss modern food even more.

Not to mention due to the lack of preservatives, most food is dried or made into jerky/pemican, which just tastes awful...

Well enough about my hate of the cooking industry of this world, as I wandered the forest I came across some tracks of Goblins...

Goblins are one of the countless...sentient monsters that roam the wilds and actively attack everything they see.

And if there are signs of Goblins being here then that can only mean one thing, a Goblin Den is nearby...

Goblins are weak and small, but from what I have heard from my village is that if Goblins are left alone for long enough as they pillage and kidnap women to increase their numbers, entire cities of Goblins can arise within a year's time...

Looking at the tracks I make sure to keep my Hunting knife at the ready as I looked in the direction of the goblin's tracks.

With a single thought, I decided to follow the tracks back to their den.

This is a good chance for me to level up my Player Class.

[You have gained the occupational skill, tracking(1)]

Well, that will be useful.

There are multiple ways of earning skills, but the most common I know of is through leveling up, every 5 levels in a class, a person would gain a skill related to their class based on their actions and experiences, for example, a Hunter who was been tracking for months would gain the skill.

Which made me somewhat confused, since I manually learned the skill easily, even though I have heard it is extremely difficult.

But I certainly won't complain.

Following along the path, I soon found myself before a small and dark cave.

With a smile, I clenched the dagger in my hand and walked into the cave knowing full well that I was about to start a slaughter.

With light steps and precaution, I began walking through the dark cave, without any light.

Luckily for me, the Goblins put up some torches for some reason, even though I knew full well that Goblins had lesser night vision.

Either way, due to the torches I would be able to see them much easier than being blinded by darkness.

With a smile, I crept through the cave and soon found two goblins walking through the cave as they talked in their broken language that no many could understand.

Sneaking up towards them I watched as both of their ears twitched and they quickly turned around and for one of them to meet my knife in his throat.

And just before the other goblin could scream I pulled the knife out and slit its throat.

[Your main class, Player has leveled up and reached level 2!]

[You have gained 5 free attribute points for free allocation!]

5 Points? How wonderful!

I know that most common classes get around 1-3 stat points per level with the rarer classes getting slightly more.

With a smile I continued down the cave after assigning all 5 of my attribute points to strength, raising it to 25 points.
