Chapter 99: More

"So you weren't kidding?" Sam's deep voice came over the phone.

Addison adjusted the phone between her ear and shoulder so she could move the laundry to the dryer. "I wasn't kidding."

"Wow. You're so good at it, though. Do you think you'll get bored?"

"Being good at a job doesn't mean you love it. My heart just isn't in it the way it needs to be."

"What about being bored? I mean you were home for a few months, and you were going nuts. What's this going to do to you?"

"I have a feeling life's about to get really crazy. We have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow, and then I think we're going to start looking for a surrogate."

"What's my boss have to say about being a grandpa?" he asked with a chuckle.

"He doesn't know. In fact, I'm surprised you didn't know that I still haven't talked to them since I left."

"Well, I figured, but I didn't want to come out and just say it. He's been in a pretty bad mood since you left."
