Chapter 152: Not Your Fault

"I'm stuffed," Hailey groaned as she sat back on the sofa, the takeout container of noodles resting on her full stomach.

Pointing at the box with his chopsticks Wes asked, "You gonna finish that?"

"It's all yours," she said as she handed it over.

She tried not to watch as he shoveled more food into his mouth, but she couldn't get past the fact that Wes was not only in her house, but he was having dinner with her. They were having an honest to goodness meal together, and they weren't fighting. It was... odd. I mean they'd always gotten along when they were talking, but she never dreamed she'd be able to be in the same room as Wes and everything would seem okay.

"What?" he asked when he noticed she was staring.

"Just weird."

Wes put the container on the table in front of them, sat back, and then turned to look her in the eye. "Think we can get past all of it?"
