After Mike had left, Sue remained in the meeting room motionless. She tried to understand what happened. She wanted to disbelieve what she heard, but inside her, she knew this was true. She saw an honest, straightforward person filling some gaps to her. Gabs she knew existed, unexplained between her and Janet.
Sue knew Janet did not like her, and she never accepted her. Janet was a cold-hearted and ruthless person. She only liked and appreciated what belongs to her. She felt superior to everyone including, her husband.
Sue witnessed many incidents where Janet acted mercilessly, yet, the idea of Janet planning to get rid of her husband’s close friends was beyond expectations.
What sounded even more shocking for Sue was her father, George Knights. He was genuine with Sue. He treated her as a daughter. It was not possible for Sue to accept that this caring father raised her only out of feeling guilt.
