"Tony should be at his old hangout by now." Together, they walked to the car. Cranking up the engine, he eased the car into the traffic congestion.
"I'll be interested in finding out what he knows." She studied Zach's profile for a short while. She could see the way his mouth formed in irritation, Zach had something on his mind. "Okay, hotshot, besides the no leads, what else is bothering you?"
His jaw flickered. A few minutes of silence passed between them before he spoke. "Do you have something you want to tell me, Jess?"
"My life is an open book for chrissake. There isn't anything you don't already know about me."
He reached in his shirt pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper. "Oh, really? Then what's this?"
Recognizing it as one of the three threatening notes she'd received, she snatched the paper from his hand. "Where did you get this?"
"It fell out of your pocket when you went to the restroom at Lizzie's Diner. So now, do you want to tell me about this?"
