Patrick brushed Gabi's hair away from her face as she slept on the ride over to Maria's house. She'd had a full day, too much junk food, and she'd become overtired and fell asleep, but it felt good, allowing her to step over the line every once in a while. He couldn't help but smile when he pictured Gabi singing all the songs to the Lion King during the stage performance. He couldn't believe she knew all the words. A warmth encased his heart. It wasn't long before he was pulling into Maria's driveway. He watched as she opened the door and rushed down the stairs, almost tripping, trying to get to them quickly. Patrick stared at her for a moment. Her long black hair draped over her one shoulder made her even more gorgeous than he remembered. He'd been so anxious to see her, to make up for the lost time, that it brought a smile to his face. She was one of the few people who made him happy. He was glad Gabi was meeting her. He knew Maria would love her instantly.
