Chapter 55: MISPLACED JEALOUSY - PART 2

Jessie unlocked the door to her apartment and sashayed across the room, struggling to get to the table with the heavy bag of groceries. It felt good to be home. Zach had been wonderful to let her stay at his house, but she didn't feel right about him sleeping on the sofa while she slept in his bed. So, tonight, she was going to hang out in her apartment and enjoy the silence without any outside influences.

A glance around the apartment and she shook her head in disgust. It hadn't cleaned itself while she was gone, and the only difference to the room was the folded pile of clothing on the chair had dwindled, and she was running out of things to wear. She placed the bag on the table, dropping the pile of mail and keys from her hand next to it. Right now, the only thought on her mind was a glass of Pinot from the bottle sitting on the counter. Exhausted, she strolled toward the cupboard and grabbed a wine glass, filled it to the brim, and sipped it.
