Chapter 140: A MANIFESTO "Can you confirm the kind of car your father drives?"

"He owns a 2008 Sebring-white. Morton is the one who's been driving it most of the time."

"Relax, Ryan. I know it's easy for me to say when it's not my father, but you'll only wind up getting sick. Hopefully, I'll find something in here that will give us a clue as to where he's headed."

Ryan took a deep breath and blew it out. "It's okay for you and your team to look around for clues if you want."

"Do you have Ôpower of attorney'?"

"No. Because if I did, I would have thrown that fucker out the door long ago."

"I can't search without a warrant," Guardino said, "although if something is out in the open, I can use it." It wasn't long before curious neighbors stood a short distance away and watched the men going in and out.

"I'm not going to stop you from searching," Ryan said. "All I care about is finding my father."

"I'm sure, but we need it for our protection and for the case we're building against Morton."
