That only adds to their already tenuous relationship.
Greed, betrayal, sexual tension, threats on their lives, abductions, and missing witnesses makes for an ongoing parade of cases that seem unsolvable, but the fascination of seeing the evidence mount, regardless of setbacks, the pieces of the puzzle always seem to fit into a nice neat little package. Wolfgang Puck's Times Square location was Zach's all-time favorite steak house. With its large windows, wooden floors, and colossal wine wall enclosed in glass, it was enough to make any wine connoisseur envious. Coupled with the unmistakable aroma of the best beef in the city, he couldn't ask for more. He smiled at Jessie's animated expressions as she talked non-stop with Alan and Joanie. Leaning back in his chair, he was ready to relax and enjoy the evening.


"How are the wedding plans coming along?" Joanie asked.


Zach glanced at Jessie with a half-smile. "I've given Zach the authority to plan this wedding just the way his mom would have wanted it, and he's been doing a terrific job while I've been up to my eyeballs with the case I'm working on."


Alan turned to Zach. "Have I told you how much I love this woman you're marrying?" Zach's wide grin and slow nod said it all.


"Is this the one where your good friend was murdered?" Joanie asked.
