Jessie and Vega walked across the black and white checkered tiles and up the red carpeted steps into the hotel lobby of The Plaza Hotel. She'd forgotten how beautiful this historic landmark was, but its beauty was the reason guests paid the hefty price tag to stay there. For a brief moment the elegance of the room stole her breath as she made her way over to the Front Desk where a clerk stood behind the counter. After showing him her ID, Jessie identified herself. "I'm Sergeant Jessie Kensington and this is Detective Julio Vega from the two-one precinct and we're investigating a crime. Will you contact the Food and Beverage manager for me?"


"Do you have an appointment?" he asked.


"No, we don't but it's very important that we speak to her now, so I'd appreciate you letting her know we're here on urgent business." Jessie stepped aside to give another guest access to the counter, then walked to the lounge area and sat.
