Last Barrier

[ Third Person POV ]

The fog unusually thickened as they continued walking further down the tall grass field. The smell of grass fills the air; the moon is almost at its peak and the climate is starting to decrease.

The crow tit is pointing to the west as it indicates the wind blows.

"This would be the last barrier and we'll enter the pavilion" Lady Suan Ming said as she took her golden hairpin to draw runes. The red encryptions lighted as the barrier started opening. Behind the river is a plain field. Closed enough to reach the pavilion.

Lady Suan Ming entered the barrier to hold it behind. She was followed by Tae Hua and Eun Jo. When the Princess was about to enter the barrier, she accidentally slipped her way to the hole as it started to close.

We started panicking.

"No!" They all started to make a way to stop. The Princess screamed as she was about to fall down. Bai Ku Ji immediately caught her arm. Lady Suan Ming still holding the runes, started analyzing on what went wrong.

She asked Eun Jo and Tae Hua what's their common as semblance.

Tae Hua answered in a wondering manner, "We were born in the same month of the year"

"When?"

"12th month of the year" Lady Suan Ming smiled as she was able to connect the dots. And answer the hidden figures.

"Anyone born in the last quarter of the year, step forward." They all creased their head.

"I was born on the 10th month. The two of them were born in the last month of the year." Lady Suan Ming started off "If we look at it, Princess Xiao could not enter because she was born on the first quarter of the year,"

Eun Jo nodding his head in agreement "Anyone else? Jump, now!"

Before the barrier closes at the other side, Master Pu held his staff on the entrance until he could hold it in. Weicheng was pushed forward and ready to jump when others started backing off the hole. The barrier started opening up again.

"Jump!" Master Pu shouted as Weicheng jumped on the exact moment as the barrier closes. "We'll wait for you here"

Weicheng dropped to the ground as Eun jo assisted her. Lady Suan Ming shouted in pain on the other side as they hurriedly went to her side. Weicheng took her forearm, she folded the sleeve as the second flower petal appeared on her wrist.

Lady Suan Ming seared in pain as the petal started to burn her skin.

"Ahhh" Weicheng took the numbing pill, Princess Xiao gave. She pushed it to Lady Suan Ming's lips.

"The fourth flower petal will definitely kill her" Eun Jo said "I can't even believe we already consumed an hour here"

For every petal is an exchange of 30 minutes of time here. After the fourth petal, it will burn her whole body and seal her soul inside the pavilion.

Since they all decided the remaining members shall wait at the other side of the barrier to make a way to help them. The four of them started moving until the cloud started to clear, showing the tip of the pavilion.

[Tae Hua's POV ]

"It was indeed majestic and powerful" I said in between my breaths. I was totally in awe as I followed their lead from behind.

"We have an hour left. We have to hurry inside" We nodded to Lady Suan Ming.

The tall grass behind the barrier is not worth comparing to how the gigantic Night Pavilion is. It was covered by lanterns and it was almost as high as the sky.

"The top is where the Lord Dame usually appears" I saw Lady Suan Ming looking at the tip of the pavilion still searing in pain.

"Eun Jo" I heard Weicheng as called his friend while poking him behind. "Why do we have to go here if we're just looking for a person?"

"Lord Dame once said that another prophecy will appear for Tae Hua--" I felt Eun Jo stopped gazing at me behind.

"Should there be the--" he was about to continue when I deicided to finish off his sentence

"If a phoenix will rise into ashes after years of sleeping" I said as they all gazed at me.

Yes, it was all connected to me. The Empress was quick to create ways into tricking us. She wanted to sure that she can save me and to mend the empire.

"The second prophecy?" Weicheng asked

Before we could say another word the doors burst open. The dusty lobby welcomed us, we took a step forward as we completely entered, the door slammed behind us. The inside was filled with lighted lanterns all over., the floor was even made of high caliber woods. High ceilings.

"In every level of night pavilion comes with task until we reach the top. We have to hurry or we'll never be able to go back anymore."

If what I have had read was right, the book of full moon that can be found in archives. The first level of Night Pavilion is a dagger filled level. Each dagger have poisons that can hallucinate anyone who touches it.

My ears started to move as I heard the first dagger swept; I shouted "Daggers!". Their sudden moves created havoc as the whole floor was threw with daggers at each side.

"Poison daggers will make you hallucinated."

Eun jo started dodging all of the daggers using his own and Weicheng took his arrows to counter; they dodged from side to side. I took my jade sword as it clinks in ever daggers coming my way. My eyes shifted as I saw Lady Suan Ming at the side drawing another runes, we went to her side as we started encircling her. I left the two in defense as I tried to move forward and took the offense. I slashed all the hidden holes where the daggers are coming from.

As I am about to lose my patience, the daggers suspended in mid-air and dropped to the floor.

I hear Lady Suan Ming sighed 'That was intense"
