Alex was conflicted, he was extremely happy about his new suit and sword but he was incredibly pissed off that he had to exit through the sewers. Luckily the tunnel had already reached 80% completion, though it had also reached the hardest point of construction, the loading bay.
Since there wasn't much if any form of surveillance underwater Alex was going capitalize on that. He developed a loading bay that could receive a 40 ft long shipping container with ease in under 4 minutes. The loading bay was entirely water proof, capable of withstanding the water pressure present in the East River with ease.
It operated by opening a pair of doors at the river bed that recieved the container and closed before draining the water and dirt back out into the sea. During the period of time when the bay doors were being constructed Alex would loose all of his construction and manufacturing equipment.
But as soon as the loading bay was completed and the first container of materials and equipment arrived. Sadly the container would be here in three weeks, the cover for the container was that it was a new prototype container that was designed to be watertight in depths of up to 100 meters of water.
It was developed by a new company ( One of Alex's various companies) they were currently in the testing phase and were dropping off containers filled with various different items all across the globe. After this container was emptied it would be placed back in the river away from the bay doors and picked up a week later.
He'd fill the container with dirt after emptying it and the cycle would continue for a while. 60% of the containers dropped to the ocean floor contained materials and equipment Drake put in there.
There were blankets and clothes stuffed and compressed so that they didn't occupy too much space in the container. They would take the place of the resources and serve as reasonable experiment samples.
After ruminating on his future plans Alex made his way out of the sewer and in an alleyway, he used his new claws to make his way to the roof of the building to his right. Standing on the roof Dragon looked around before heading to a specific location, it was a front for the Aryan Brotherhood(Google them.).
They recently moved into Brooklyn and were preaching their propaganda in public and starting fights with the target of their hate and judgment. This wasn't a personal conflict though, he chose them because they were fanatics, they were more dangerous than the already existing gangs and also more stupid.
They didn't really belive in being too discreet, they barely manage to stay off the NYPD's radar. They were currently in the phase of accumulating capital aka robbing and stealing from local businesses run by people of colour and low level thugs.
They reason Dragon was putting off attacking them had to do with the fact that most of them carried guns. His first suit was not completely bulletproof, had he charged into their midst he would have been riddled with bullets.
Despite the fact that he has above average strength, agility and endurance he also had zero combat experience prior to his first night out. Even with his stats and reflexes making the right choices in a deadly situation requires experience, even with talent.
Dragon was aware of his shortcomings but the only way to rectify it was to garner experience, he made his way to the rooftop in front of his target building. He was a scary sight to behold, dressed in black light-to-medium armor, a katana on his back, a hood that created mystery and a mask that instilled fear. Sticking to his name, his chest plate was designed to look like a Dragon's face that was made of different layers that stacked to give it a more three dimensional look.
Dragon did recon around the building, he only spotted two lookouts on the roof who he swiftly knocked out. He made his way down the floors knocking out guards before he reached tonight's target.
This was a storehouse, the Aryan's used it to store money, drugs and important things. When he reached the final obstacle he knew that the time for stealth was over. There was 14 guards here, Dragon took out two shurikens from the pouches at his thighs and threw them at two guards wielding rifles on the platform above him.
Dragon's aim wasn't perfect, his level 5 Projectile Throwing Skill gave him absolute accuracy in a 15 cm diameter circle. When the skill reached it's max level the diameter would shrink to 10 cm.
Dragon initially aimed for their shoulder joints but instead hit their biceps at different spots. Not minding his misses he drew kunais from his epaulet pouches and threw them at two thugs. He aimed for their knees but got a thigh and a shin instead.
Hearing the cries of pain from their comapanions the thugs started firing randomly, one of them even shot an ally in the foot. He used some more shurikens to take out the lights in the room. Unfortunately he missed 40% of the time.
After some re-throws he was finally in the dark, he couldn't see that well but the muzzle fire was all he need to see to aim. He used more shurikens to take out the remaining thugs, the well timed cries of pain was all he needed to hear to indicate a successful hit.
After the gunfire stopped Dragon walked towards his felled foes to see if they needed medical care soon. Luckily they were injured but not dying, a few kicks to the head later Dragon made his way to the safe room.
He saw the room filled with cash guns and a few safety deposit boxes filled with jewelry. He looked through the items to see if there was anything dangerous or anything useful to him, when he didn't he just called the police and a few ambulances before heading to the roof.
Walking through the door he looked around and be saw something he really didn't want to right now, Phil Coulson waiting for him with a folder in his hands. Not wanting to let it slip that he knew him he said " I'll give you five seconds to jump off yourself or I'll come throw you off." while reaching for his sword.
" Relax, I work for the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division and i'm just here to talk." Coulson threw his badge and Dragon caught it gave it a brief look and just threw it back at him and said " You have 5 minutes."
Not wasting any time Coulson went on to talk about what S.H.I.E.L.D does and what they stand for and why he was here. Apparently he was being scouted, Coulson offered him an opportunity to impact the world on a larger scale. He then complimented his skills and threw the folder in his hand which Dragon caught.
It was the hospital records of his victi*cough* foes, there was mostly broken arms a few broken fingers and one shattered knee. But he saw something or actually didn't see something, the man he dropped of the roof, his records weren't there.
When Dragon dropped him he saw the broken limbs, but now there wasn't records in here, there were records from that night but none for him. He had his suspicions about the man but it didn't occur to him that he was on S.H.I.E.L.D's radar even then.
Not one for being modest he asked Coulson " How's your guy? how long before he can walk again?" Coulson heard the questions and was a bit shocked before asking " How'd you know?" and the response he got was " I wasn't sure until now. but it was his gun, it was standard government issue."
" Moving on, is your armor really made of steel? seems like that'd be heavy." Dragon just said " Its made of hardened chicken leather why would it be heavy?" Coulson was exasperated, he thought he'd be reprimanded, ignored or even though it was unlikely, the truth. Not be lied to so obviously, shaking it off he asked " So what do you say, are you joining or not?" Dragon answered him honestly and said " It's not time yet, i'm not ready, Brooklyn isn't ready yet. I spent my whole life here watching this place get worse everyday(He grew up in Upstate New York), I resolved myself to make this place better, safer, I can't leave until I fulfill my promise. I'll reach out when the time comes and i'd prefer it of you didn't keep any records of me."
After saying that he handed Coulson back the file before walking off the roof. By the time the sequence of events registered in Coulson's head and he rushed to the ledge Dragon was long gone. He touched his earpiece and asked " Anyone have eyes on the target?" and all he got was negative responses.
Shield was operating on the belief that Dragon was a well trained human, but he wasn't human. When he walked of the roof he leapt off the wall and hurried into the sewers through a manhole.
He was disgusted by the place but they kept proving useful. He made his way to his next target and went demolished them easier than the last one. While he was bombarding them with projectiles he felt himself reach level 4 and felt another barrier.
He checked his Skill List after the battle and saw his Basic Projectile Throwing Skill maxed out and bought the intermediate version for 10,000 Qps. When this skill was maxed out his target diameter would shrink to a 5 cm diameter.
With the increased accuracy and stats things proceeded quicker than anticipated. The Exp provided for taking down thugs armed with guns was a lot more than he expected. The type of gun also affected the payout.
Dragon took down all 12 of the remaining Aryan Brotherhood safe houses, and reached level 6. He also managed to max out Basic Martial Arts, Basic Espionage and Basic Parkour during the course of the night. The more high pressured and deadly the situation the more Skill Exp awarded.
He also finally experienced what it was like to be shot, he was shot eight times. 5 to the chest armor, 1 to the abdominal plate and 2 on the scalemail over his obliques. The last two actually hurt, although the scalemail was flexible and a deflected the bullet, he still felt the actual pain.
Returning to his base through a different point than last time he took off his suit and inspected it. The paint on the chest plates and abdominal plates were scratched but the armor platings was intact. The scales were unfortunately bent and needed to be replaced.
Alex replaced the scales and drew up some upgrades, Carbon Nanotubes to replace all the carbon fiber, a gel layer under scalemail to disperse vibrations, a fabric made of composite of Kevlar, Nomex and Carbon fiber, and dispensers for his projectiles under his armor plates.
All of these upgrades needed fine tuning and Angi was preoccupied so they would have to wait. He switched his attention to his system, be bought the Intermediate versions of, Martial arts, Espionage and Parkour.
Alex sat still for an hour while the knowledge settled before he went to bed. When he woke up the next day he decided to make a helmet capable of supporting an H.U.D with night vision and be capable of scanning for weapons, plotting courses, monitoring police scanners and tapping into surveillance feeds, further upgrades would come in time.
He decided upgrade the helmet from having eye-holes to a red v-shaped visor made of upgraded polycarbonate. He also designed a wrist mounted grappling hook, it had three rechargeable miniature tanks that stored compressed air. It had a high powered silent mini comressor that got power from a super battery Alex designed earlier( One of them powers the base and lab for the day ).
Although the batteries are good they were only a short term solution to which Alex had a plan to rectify it. The only thing Alex had to do now was wait for movement from the Aryan Brotherhood.
But that would change soon, they are most likely outfitting themselves with better weapons. In the mean time he would go back to terrorizing the low level and unaffiliated street thugs.
Dragon did just that for the the next few nights, by the time the container of equipment arrived there still wasn't any movement from the Brotherhood. On the other hand with the arrival of the container production and construction soared.
The final model of Alex's first suit was currently being assembled. This model would last him a while before it was time for a upgrade, the next thing to be upgraded was his sword.
They weren't designed to be used by someone as strong as him so they broke often, his plan was to make one from vibranium but that would have to wait. For now he was experimenting with alloys, he was close to something but he wasn't sure how close.
