Black Widow Brotherhood Raid (3)

Allan Blackfyre was a zombie.

This meant that he had undergone an experiment as he was growing older, in order to fight the passage of time. He had forcefully injected death elemental particles into his flesh, making himself an undead being.

Time no longer affected him, as he was already rotten. His vitality had grown exponentially, and he would not risk death anymore. Diseases no longer affected him. Only loss of magic power made him afraid. If he lost all of his mana, he would die, since it was mana that was his motor, rather than life force.

Allan was shining against large groups of weak enemies. His high vitality and regeneration allowed him to crush armies single-handedly. He didn't even use weapons. His hands alone were enough to cause a [Zombie Curse] that was lethal to those below the preparatory knight level, and potent enough to incapacitate knights.

Supported by the body refinement acolyte Bjorg, who wielded two axes and rampaged through the battlefield like a Northern Warring Hero, the pair of acolytes had killed over fifty soldiers already. Even the few knights no longer dared to approach after seeing their peers getting massacred. Some were considering running away, but they knew that they would be executed if they did so. If not by the Ivory Tower Master, then by the Crimson Clan elders.

Ivory Tower Acolytes wearing white robes were trying to support the army, casting healing and blessing magic, to no avail. Six had died in an instant by a Master Archer hiding in the shadows. Most gave up on participating in the battlefield to cast defensive spells instead.

It was a mistake. Arthur had long since left this battlefield and turned to hunt isolated intermediate-rank acolytes. Yet, the fear of getting killed prevented the Ivory Tower Acolytes from using their skills.

Of course, it was something both allan and bjorg looked forward to. With no more pressure, they could even begin to use spells. Bjorg immediately cast [Earthquakes], which destabilized all the soldiers in the surroundings. As for Allan, he cast a few [Shadow bolts], each spell killing dozens of soldiers, while injuring some acolytes in the process.

Meanwhile, Helena had met a worthy opponent.

[Emma Crimson - Level 8 Acolyte]

It was a newly advanced intermediate rank acolyte, the one who had been put in charge of the human settlement. Although she was the weakest 'elder' in the Crimson Clan as well as the youngest, she possessed high potential, with grade 4 talent. She wasn't even 25, yet her cultivation already exceeded Helena's.

This made her incredibly jealous, but at the same time, Helena was not afraid.

She possessed a magical artefact that allowed her to threaten intermediate-rank acolytes. Plus, she had more experience than most. Immediately consuming an elixir increasing her reflexes, Helena started to cast two spells: [Ice Shield] and [Ice Spear].

Emma was flustered. Every time she cast an offensive spell, Helena would either cancel her cast and hide, or block it with [Ice Shield]. However, Helena was smarter and would use her sling to destabilize her, creating a barrage of attack. Sometimes, rocks would be replaced by an incredibly potent ice spear.

If not for Emma's defensive magical artefact, she would have lost her life thrice in a matter of minutes. Just as she thought she was gaining the upper hand after Helena ran out of mana, the woman unfolded a scroll which summoned a lightning arrow. It pierced through her heart.

Just like that, a grade 4 acolyte who had the potential to become the next head of the Crimson Magus Household died.
