"Hello? May I speak to Miss Caroline?" I urgently asked the line.
"Wait a minute, Miss Heaven. I will connect you to her line." The operator responded.
"Okay, thank you so much." I politely asked.
I waited for almost 5 minutes before Miss Caroline speak up in the line.
"May I help you, Miss Heaven?" She asked.
"I got an email yesterday about changing the venue for my private signing event. I just wanted to confirm if the venue were in the Mariveles, Bataan?" I casually asked.
"Ow, about that? Yes, Miss Heaven. The company director and staff that you are going to signing a contract is currently on vacation in Mariveles, so they decided to change the venue from Makati City to Bataan. On behalf of them, I apologize for the short notice about the venue." Miss Caroline explained.
"It's okay with me, Miss Caroline. Thank you for informing me." I casually said.
We bid our goodbyes as she reminds me to come early to the venue before hanging up the line and texted her when I am in the hotel already.
"I need to tell this to Edge later." I said it to myself before going out to the bedroom.
I was waiting for Edge in the living room while typing another chapter of my ongoing novel. I felt a warm hug from my back. I turn around to see Edge, who is drunk and smiling like a maniac. Jeez, he smells like a bottle of alcoholic drinks.
"Problem, Edge?" I curiously asked.
"No, I am celebrating with my co-workers." He started as he sat down beside me.
"Celebrating for what?" I asked while shutting down my laptop.
I stood up to get him something to drink to sober himself. I made a hot coffee as I walked back to the living room, and I put down the mug on the center table. He drinks a little bit before answering my question earlier.
"We were done with our project here in Quezon City, and by November, we will be starting my latest project in Pangasinan. But the whole of October, we were surveying the area where we build this project." He explained normally.
"So, you are saying you are free tomorrow until my signing day in Mariveles and coming home after that day?" I assumed.
"I thought the venue would be in Makati City?" He confusedly asked.
"Well, I received an email yesterday about changing the venue, and I confirmed it to my manager earlier, she said yes. So maybe, by Thursday afternoon, I will be going there as early as my schedule and stayed there for Thursday and Friday night then by Saturday, I will driving home by myself if you won't come with me." I explained.
"I will come with you. I will tell Harold to pick up your car here to bring it in Pangasinan first so that we were going to use my car is going to Mariveles." He immediately declared.
"Are you sure?" I confirmed.
"Yes, because I am planning to pack up my things here before heading back to our province. I also plan to stay there because of my project. Can I stay at your house?" He said.
"Why? In my house? Are you nuts? We're not married yet. People might think something crazy about us---" He cut me off.
"Well, I don't care about what they would think. Why? You don't want that?" He seriously asked while blankly stared at me.
"How about to your parent's house?" I uttered.
"No, I don't want to, love. Besides, you are alone in your house, right?" He said casually.
"Yes, I am alone there, but my house is too small for us." I said as a fact.
"So what? We used to hang out in your small room when we were in college. Remember?" He smirked.
"Hey! What was that? Y-you, arrrgggh! Fine! I won't argue with that! You're so annoying!" I stood up as I marched to our room.
"YOU'RE BLUSHING!" He teased.
The days before Thursday afternoon, we were packing all our things here. He told me how much this condo unit means to him for almost two years of living here. I can see how Edge has matured as a guy as a factor in his career and the reality that he has a social life here in Quezon City. He brought me to his office to attend their last-day party. I enjoyed it a lot there, especially when Architect Veniegas said that she was two months pregnant and decided to rest for a year for their baby.
I emailed my manager, Miss Caroline, on Wednesday night that I will be going to the venue by Thursday afternoon, and she told me that we would meet there on Friday morning. I booked 3-days staying in the hotel, The Oriental Bataan, where my new contract company stayed on their one-month vacation.
"I love the view here." Edge commented while looking at the beach outside.
"Me, too." I said as I continued typing on my laptop.
"Love?" He called.
"Hmm?" I responded.
"What if I got you pregnant after this setup?" He randomly asked.
"What do you mean by that?" I stopped typing and seriously looked at him.
"I got you pregnant within this setup of us. Would you still planning to break up with me?" He asked.
I keep myself quiet for minutes. When I was diagnosed with PCOS sickness, it was too impossible for me to get pregnant. I am hoping that I might get pregnant if ever, but I cannot. But I need to have a safe response to him right now.
"Why are you asking like that? Are you planning to keep me by doing that to me?" I frankly approached.
"If it is the way to keep you to stay with me. Why not?" He frankly said.
"You're desperate." I whispered as I shook my head and continued what I was doing a while ago.
"I'm not desperate, Heaven. I want to grow old with you." He casually said before heading out of our room and leaving without telling me where the hell he is going.
