Today, it was 3rd day of November. The class resumed again after the semester break.
"Good morning, my little angels!" I greeted my class when I entered the room.
"Good morning, Miss Ace! Good morning, classmates!" My ten pupils in Grade 2 - Special Class stood up in their chairs with shake hands and bowed to each other.
I have three pupils in the exceptional class. Who was Martha with a near-sighted vision, Jude with an intellectual disability, and Leigh with giftedness. And the other seven students have average intelligence but a fast learner.
I asked Sydney to lead our prayer today.
"Amen!" We said in chorused.
"Is there any absent for our class today?" I asked.
"No one is absent today, Miss." Tyron answered.
"Great! How about a three clap for who is present today?" I happily said to them.
The pupils are clapping their hands three times.
"Before we start our lesson for today, we were having an activity called Finding Nemo. I attached in your chairs an envelope, but one of you had the fish shape envelope." I announced.
My pupils went hype and asking their activity.
"Miss Ace, are we gonna find a real fish?" Harika curiously asked.
"Not a literal fish, Harika. It was an envelope that shapes like a fish." I explained.
"What are we gonna do if someone gets the fish shape envelope?" Cornelius innocently asked.
"I will explain after you check your chairs first." I answered.
Everybody was checking their chairs until Andy got the envelope under his chair.
"Miss Ace! Miss Ace! I got it! I got it!" Andy happily announced.
They stop searching for the envelope.
"Everybody back to your seats. Andy got the Nemo!" I happily instructed.
After they got back to their respective seats, I explain the mechanics of the activity.
"Andy will be the one who holds the question to our activity today. Inside of the other envelopes has the puzzle pieces that answer the question. So better not lose it. Andy, can you read the question to the class?" I asked.
"What occurs once in a minute, twice in a moment, and never in one thousand years?" Andy read the notes. After that, I instructed them. Start to combine the puzzle pieces in the activity table as Blair, Martha, and Jude loudly said, "The letter M" in the class.
I gave them a three clap and announced that we were proceeding to our lesson for today.
After the short discussion about phonemic awareness which we were pronouncing the vowel and consonant letters, I gave them a 15 minutes break before taking a graded recitation from our lesson for today. Like the usual, Leigh got the highest score because she pronounced the letters correctly, while his twin brother Lesley got the lowest score of the recitation because he accidentally pronounces other letters in incorrect sounds. We ended the class by giving them homework about our lesson today.
After my two classes in the morning, it was already lunch break. I went to our faculty room to surprise myself. Kristine and Venice giggle to see Edge walking towards me with a food bouquet again and smiling brightly. I smiled while shrugging as Edge gave it to me.
We went to Aunt Rosa to her small cafeteria in front of the school to eat our lunch. It was a treat from Edge of all of a sudden.
"Weekend is waving!" Kristine suddenly said.
"Any plans for tomorrow, girls?" Edge asked.
"Date with my fiancé." Venice answered.
"No date. No boyfriend. Just in the house." Kristine frankly answered like her usual weekend.
They looked at me like waiting for my plans tomorrow.
"Visiting my parents? Again?" I answered in an uncertain tone.
"Can I come with you?" Edge asked.
But suddenly, Kristine spitted the water from her mouth to the floor.
"Sorry, sorry, I just misheard something. Hihihi!" She apologized.
Venice looked at me as we looked at each other to Kristine stared at us too as we chuckled and shrugged while Edge is confusedly looking at us. We end up chatting again about another topic. Edge told me that he would not be at home this night because they were having a night out with his colleagues after surveying their project here, but he said he tries to go home by dawn or early in the morning. I just let him go there, told him to enjoy, have some fun, and don't worry about me for tonight. After my class, we have an urgent meeting with the board of directors and my co-workers. We were discussing the upcoming event and seminars for November. Before going home, Kristine and Venice asked me to come with them to relax and to have a friend date like our usual Friday routine after class. I went go through with them, where they dragged me in the sauna and street food shop.
I was two blocks from my house when I saw Joe with his motorbike in front of my house.
I stopped my car in front of the garage and to go out in the car.
"What are you doing here?" I furiously asked.
"So, I'm in the right house. How are you, Teacher Ace?" He casually asked.
"I'm doing fine without you showing yourself in front of my house. My boyfriend might see you and punch you again. So, what are you doing here again?" I hostilely asked again.
"I was checking you out if you were doing fine with Royce. I heard you two have been in a week fighting on something serious, I guess." I seriously said.
"If I were you, go away, Joe. I don't want to have issues with you again to Edge or anyone who might see you here in front of my house. They might think that we are having a secret affair so go home now. I don't want to waste my time here. My relationship with Edge is doing great. No matter we fight on something, I don't want someone to meddling with us. We were good as a normal couple. And please, Joe, do me a favor. I don't want to interfere with you again. Even we are merely a friend. Joe, please, stay away from me or my relationship with Edge. Have a safe ride. I got to go inside. Bye!" I said before walking back to the car as I park it in the garage.
