Two young men were walking down the corridor of the school. The walls and the floorings were all pristine white, creating a sharp contrast between themselves and the endless darkness that occupied one's view when they looked out of the windows. There was an unnerving, subtle smell of blood in the air, mixed with fresh paint.
No noises were hearable as if the school was completely unoccupied. This silence, however, was disturbed by the footsteps of Song Lei and Bai Hao. Both seemed relatively relaxed as they walked with long but slow steps.
"The invasions have increased in number these last few days, haven't they?" Bai Hao asked. Song Lei wasn't sure if he was trying to say something important or make some small talk. Looking briefly at Bai Hao's face, he decided it was the latter and nodded without answering. Seeing Song Lei's uninterested attitude, the corners of Bai Hao's mouth slightly curved upwards.
