Chapter#7 Moving on

After that incident, Mariposa had been suffering from high fever that's why she didn't go to boutique. She was standing in the kitchen ,near the stove ,making soup for herself. "Hello cupcake." She jumped at the sudden voice and placed a hand on her heart . "You startled me." She said looking at Shane "Sorry." He said with a grin. "So how are you now." he asked her and sat on the kitchen tool. "Much better". She replied honestly . "That's good, so what was the matter." She frowned. "Which matter."

"The matter between you and Daniel." He said . She was shocked at his sudden question but tried to keep her posture normal. "It's nothing." She said without looking at him. "Ok , but, I don't believe you . So now cut the crap and tell me the truth." He would not leave her alone before knowing the whole story. She sighed in frustration.

She was avoiding that topic. She was trying to get over him and move on. She was nobody for him and it was better for her to accept reality as soon as possible. But she couldn't. He was always on her mind. She was constantly thinking of him and that too with Margeret. One day he would marry her and have kids. But for her, she would always be alone. After her parents' death she had nobody. The things which she had been through made her strong enough that she was capable of living alone. But now that she was blessed with a family. She didn't want to lose them again ever. She didn't want them to have any issues with Daniel because of her.

"Back to earth butterfly." Shane and his endearments . " What!!" She snapped. "Relax lady." He said . "I am sorry Shane. It's just I don't want to talk about it all ." Mariposa apologized . "No can do. What friends are for. So you don't consider me a friend. If yes then tell me the situation and we can handle it well." The boy wasn't buying her excuses.

" Ok fine , let's go to garden first." She accepted defeat. She picked up her bowl and marched out. He followed her. After settling down on the chair he said."So?" She took a spoon. "Daniel don't love me ." She said blankly. "So what , he will soon . It's impossible to not love you." He stated like a fact. "You don't understand, he loves someone else. He will divorce me soon and will marry her." Mariposa told him.

"What.? He has gone mad. I always knew he is an idiot. The most beautiful girl is his wife and he is still not able to see the gem. What a stupid business man he is." He said. "Stop joking I am already worried." She stated. "You love him." He asked more like told her. "What ? No! ? Why are you asking." She lied. "Deny it all you want. But your eyes speak louder than words." He said. "So this is the main problem. Our little fairy is in love." He said smiling. "It doesn't matter now." She didn't tell him about Margeret and the scene. "Let's make him fall for you. It would be fun." He sounded excited."No it's not necessary. I have already accepted my fate." She said sadly looking at the setting sun. "Who is asking you. Let me call Amelia." Now what they were going to do. She was stuck.

They talked about different things and after sometime Amelia came too. Shane narrated her the whole story . "You; brother sister duo !please don't tell anyone . I don't want the family to hate Daniel because of me." Mariposa requested them. " Don't worry cupcake. It will be our little secret." Shane assured her. "I don't want anything from him. He has full rights to love and marry whoever he wants. I just want to forget him and move on. I want to be brave and independent." She told them. "Look Mariposa you have become more confident. You are opening up to us . You are thinking about your future now. You have changed. And soon you will be reformed into a strong woman . Trust me.Just remember that whatever happens we are with you." Amelia said and gave her a smile. Mariposa smiled back. She always made her feel good.

" But you shouldn't give up on love." Shane said . "I believe love happens only once in life. All other things are compromises." Shane was right ."That's why I don't want Daniel to be with me. I want someone who loves me the most. I don't want someone's second option or a compromise." Mariposa told them . "I just want to be happy.and I want others to be happy." She added. "You will be . You deserve happiness cupcake." Amelia said and copied Shane at the end. "Not you too." Mariposa huffed.

" Let's forget about everything and hit a club tonight." Shane advised them."No I can't." Mariposa said . "Why." The twins both said at the same time . "I haven't gone to any club throughout my life. I can't." She replied. "Nothing will happen we are with you." Amelia said . "But I don't drink.what will I do their." She asked them hoping that they would back off. "You will strip." Shane said seriously."What." Her eyes popped out. "Shut up." Amelia glared at him."He is joking don't listen to his non sense." Amelia said. "You can have fruit munch. We will have our dinner at a restaurant and then we will go to club ,will rock the floor. Maybe you get some handsome man." Shane told his plan . But she shot a glare at his last words and shook her head. Amelia punched at his back. "aaaaaaa! Sis what?" He is such a drama queen. "But........" Mariposa tried to give some other reason. "No more arguements . It is already 6 . We should be getting ready." Amelia stood up ."Yeah and beside that you have locked yourself in the house for a week. It will be good for you too. Meet you at 8." Shane said and she nodded hesitantly. Two hours for getting ready . Mariposa shook her head at Amelia's obsession with styles, fashions and shopping .

Amelia selected her dress too it was a beautiful black short skirt with dark blue blouse. It reached till the mid thigh. She tried to say 'no' but Amelia didn't buy it . Amelia wore her black short dress . She did their makeup and straightened her hair. Wearing heels, they were ready. She looked good and was feeling better. She should forget about everything and should think about only herself. She thought and smiled at her reflection. "Girl come on Shane is waiting . He has called me." They headed outside. Shane was also looking good in his black attire . She just hoped that night would go well.
