Chapter 2: The Meeting

Khushi opened her eyes, as soon as she heard the door close. She didn't want to face him today nor does to want to say anything to him. She detached herself from the little girl she came to love as her own, pecked her forhead and went towards the window.

Leaning on the window frame she thought how did she got herself into this mess. Oh yes, it was because of that irresponsible brat of her ex-fiance Rohan. Truth to be told she didn't liked him yet she agreed for their marriage. Why? Because her mother and sister almost blackmailed her into it.

The Sharmas were a middle class family. Khushi's father Ketan Sharma was a teacher, her mother Mamta Sharma, a housewife, Khushi Sharma was herself an architect and her younger sister Kirti Sharma (who was a pampered spoilt bitch) was a model ( or she want to be one). And there was her elder brother Kartik Sharma, who was her constant supporter.

Ketan Sharma and Rohan's dad were childhood friends and they decided to convert their friendship to relationship. So they at first fixed Rohan's and Kirti's marriage ( as Kirti was always infatuated with Rohan) but when Rohan saw Khushi, he wanted her. He didn't really wanted to marry her but he wanted her in his bed. Khushi knew that.

She also knew that Rohan has a string of affairs and he is a womaniser. When the Basu's asked for her in place of her sister, Kirti was so mad that she threatened to kill her. Khushi had expected the reaction and so she refused for the alliance. She didn't know what her mother said to Kirti, that the next day her sister asked her to accept the alliance. Khushi denied but no one supported her except her brother so her mother and sister weaved a drama of killing themselves to make her accept the alliance. Her family thought that they would be rich if Rohan married her. So, that is how she accepted to marry Rohan and got engaged to him six months earlier.

From then Rohan tried everything to get close to her but she somehow always escaped. She didn't even let him touch her because she felt disgusted with it. He is a leach.

Even after engaging with Khushi, Rohan didn't change his womanizing ways and Khushi knew that too. She was looking for every chance to get away from him.

Her first chance came when Khushi spotted her sister Kirti and Rohan in a compromising situation together. It was a pure coincidence that she came to office that day. She forgot a file in Rohan's cabin the previous day( Yes, her family also made her resign her job and work as Rohan's P. A. which gave the leach even more chance to touch her) Since it was a Sunday that day, she knew that Rohan wouldn't be at the office so she could go alone and bring the file.

When she was nearing the cabin, she heard voices( or to be accurate moans). She opened the cabin door and her eyes went wide seeing her sister and her fiance clothless in a very compromising position. Khushi was disgusted and angry.

She went ahead to tell her parents to make Kirti marry Rohan but her sister and her so called fiance got in her way and blackmailed her. Khushi was a bold girl but when it comes the people she loves, she becomes weak. And when Rohan blackmailed her in the name of her brother saying he would make him pay if she opened her mouth and declined to marry him. Khushi looked at her sister because Kartik was their brother but Kirti was too nonchalant about it.

Khushi didn't give any head to Rohan's threatening and went ahead to expose them but when she heard of her brother's accident which happened because of her fiance, she gave in to their blackmailing. The accident didn't do any major damage other than scratches but it instilled a fear in her heart. It was three months ago.

One month ago when she saw him signing a deal with Rohan, she felt an attraction towards him. He hadn't noticed her but she was amazed by the way he commanded the boardroom. After the meeting when she was trying to get a cab to go home thinking about him, her eyes fell on a little girl not more than 3 years in the middle of the road.

Her eyes got wider and her heart beat fast seeing a car approaching the little girl with speed. Without caring about anything she went to save her and save her she did. She got scatches on her elbows but she looked at the little girl who was in her arms safe and Khushi sighed in relief. She was very angry at the girl's careless parents and was about to ask from the little one when she saw Aditya rushing towards them.

He snatched the little girl from her and hugged her so tight that Khushi felt it would be hurting the child. And it was confirmed when she said in a baby voice "Paa..... tigt".Then and there Khushi's heart broke and she didn't even know why. Maybe because he was the first guy she was interested in and he was freaking married with a child.

Aditya released her daughter and was about to thank that person who saved his daughter. Khushi saw him looked at her when she first saw his eyes widen in shock, then hope, then relief and something which cannot decipher. He was about to say something when she beat him to it

"Listen, Mr Bajaj, I know you business man an all but you are a careless parent. Who leave their daughter on the road..... " She went on scolding him and he listened to her patiently. She felt herself stiffen when she felt a hand in her waist and she turned to see it was Rohan.

He introduced her to Aditya as his fiance and saw another wave of emotions pass through his eyes before he masked it. He thanked her for saving his daughter and they turned to leave. Seeing them leaving she jerked away Rohan's hand, glared at him and left from there
