CHAPTER 18 END…Volume 2: Ydeo's Adventure and the Last Order of the Immortal Bishop - CHAPTER 18: WIND FESTIVAL
"Woah!" I shouted, I remembered something.
A week has passed since the abduction of Princess Mayari, and something is bothering me but I don't know what it is, I just remember it now.
"Ydeo, why are you screaming?" Princess Mayari asked.
"Well you see, something is bothering me." I said.
"What is it?" Princess Mayari asked more.
"Hey, Knight, let me ask you something, and please be honest with what I'm about to ask." I said.
"What is it?" The Knight confirmed.
"Remember when the General Movers took Princess Mayari?" I said.
"Ydeo, can you be more specific?!" Princess Mayari snapped.
"Yeah right, you must be the one who knows it best. I should have asked it at that time. I was distracted when you asked to find Zymon." I said.
"Hey, are you saying to not find me?!" Zymon entered.
"Ow, you're here?!" I said.
"So, what is it about?" Zymon asked.
"You probably don't know about it but let me tell you this." I said.
"I'm listening." Zymon said.
"When I saved Princess Mayari, something is off, am I right, Knight? I said.
"I am confused." The Knight said.
"When Lord-Blonde said that their alias is based on their character and hair, it turned out that everyone in the group is from different races. I noticed something." I started.
"What is it?" Princess Mayari insisting.
"The hair." Ydeo said.
The atmosphere change, Princess Mayari's face became serious. The Knight suddenly holds his wooden spear. It seems that they get what I'm trying to say.
"What's with the hair?" Princess Mayari asked.
"If by chance, I'll be Witty-Brown, Zymon will be Timid-White, Princess Mayari is Bratty-Blonde...."
"Wait, wait, wait?! Why am I a Bratty-Blonde?" Princess Mayari complained.
"Yeah right! Why am I Timid-White?" Zymon asked.
"Well first Zymon, you always scare-scream since we met."
"Who wouldn't? You run so fast and swim so fast! You even ate a shark! Who does that?" Zymon answered.
"I do, isn't that normal?" I avowed.
"No one does that! That is also the reason why I know that you're special, so be my guard, Ydeo." Princess Mayari suggested.
"Nope and don't try to confuse me again. I won't forget it this time. So you Knight will go by Uptight-Orange." I continued.
"And then?" The Knight said as he poses in to a fighting mode. I might scare him but I understand him.
"You see, the alias of the other characters doesn't fit their hair! They break their rules! I must teach them, I must go back and correct their mistake!" I astounded.
"Huh?! What are you an Idiot?!" Princess Mayari shouted.
"I see, I actually don't know their alias, Ydeo." The Knight said retreating.
"Don't mind him, let's just sleep go back to sleep." Zymon concluded.
"You really don't get it, aren't you? This people doesn't have a life, I pity them." I said.
I guess we better sleep.....
On that Morning I heard a sound of someone, singing, joy, and festival. That’s what I hear.
"Oh Wind of the Great Bathala!
Oh Spirit of the Great Bathala!
Sarimanok, please guide us!
Praise the Diwata of the land!"
"This song is great! Where does this came from?" I complimented.
I took Mayari forward to let her listen the sound and music. She really is a sound sleeper.
"Princess Mayari, wake up! Look at those people." I said as I try to wake her up.
"What is it Ydeo?" She said drowsily.
"A festival! They have festival!" I said.
"So? In Viyato, we have thousands of festival; I often went to those festivals as part of the royal family." She said uninterested.
"I didn't expect that, based on your story, you said that if someone saw your face, they will fall in love."
"I'm inside a carriage, and when I'm watching the festival I am far from the crowd. Even when I try to socialize with the people, no one dares to go near me. My father made a law that no one is allowed to touch me, if they disobey, they will get executed."
"Your family seems like a family of Idiots." I said.
"Eh?!" Princess Mayari's expression changed. She's looks like in trouble.
"Why make a face like that?" I asked.
"It is the first time; a person said that to my family." She said.
"Not even you or your brother?" I confirmed.
"Of course we do!" She said.
"Then someone did."
"You don't get it; for you own sake don't try to say those words again. If someone from the Viyato heard you saying that, they will execute you." She said.
"What a government your country is, our leaders can listen to complaints from our people. I saw Datu Maru accept those kind of complain." I said.
"Viyato is not Lucios."
"Then Lucios is not Viyato." I argued too.
"Whatever, just don't say those words when we went to Viyato, okay?"
"Why would I say it for the second time? I already made my point, right?" I said.
"Whatever, just don't do something that will make them kill you, alright?" She said.
"Why not listen to the song, pretty good, aren't they?" I suggested.
"Yes it is, it can touch your heart, and I’ve never heard a song like this." She said.
"Let's go and dance! No one knows who you are, people can touch you, and we can dance!"
"Yes we should dance!" She said.
"Oh Wind of the Great Bathala!" I sang as we go to the festival.
Meanwhile in the Holy Shrine of Mala-Laya, the Bishop asked Gustov as audience.
"Reverend Gustov." Bishop Maxim said
"Yes, Your Excellency!" Priest Gustov said.
"Tell them, to execute, order no. 1" Bishop Maxim ordered.
"What?" Priest Gustov was confused with the order of Bishop Maxim.
On the other hand, at the house of Bakunawa.
"Nothing changed." Bakunawa said.
"Ever since that incident, everyone leave this place. People call this town as the Home of the Beast. You will be safe in here, as we plan tonight I will take you to the Shrine and we will execute the plan." Priest Pontiveros said.
"Do you think that old man already know our plan?" Bakunawa asked.
"I don't know, if he knows we're already dead." Priest Pontiveros answered.
"Maybe he is already watching our moves. He is a sneaky bastard, and with his ability it will be hard for us to infiltrate." Bakunawa concluded.
"Both of you has the same element, you can change the flow of wind for us." Priest Pontiveros said.
"Yes we are both wind user, like our Lord Bathala. That's why He knows when someone is near. He might be blind for his age, but he can use the wind to feel the presence of others. That's why he knows when someone is going to attack. People think he is a living god."
"Can you practice your wind element now?" Priest Pontiveros inquired.
"I can only use the partial equip of my Sacred Arm, while on my Curse Blood, I can only change both of my arm, on the other hand, I still can't cast Amihan. She is too strong to control." Bakunawa said.
"You and the Bishop both have the gods of the wind Habagat and Amihan. Unlike you, the Bishop can fully cast Habagat. But from what I heard you unleashed Amihan before." Priest Pontiveros said.
"I did, but only when I use both partial equip of my Sacred Arm and Cursed Blood."
"I see, you use those as catalyst to active Amihan. It's not a bad idea we can use that as trump card. I'll be going to search around." Priest Pontiveros said.
"Good luck with that one arm of yours." Priest Pontiveros continued.
“Don’t mind me, better mind yourself."
Back to where Ydeo and the other camp.
"That Idiot, Ydeo! Where did he take Princess Mayari?" The Knight bellowed.
"Relax, we can find them." Zymon said.
"If a single insect bite my lady, I will kill him!"
"I feel sorry for, Ydeo." Zymon said looking at nothingness.
After an hour, on the festival.
"Where are you taking me again, Ydeo?" Princess Mayari asked
"Don't be stingy okay? We are near, look at those!" Ydeo answered.
"The moon? But it’s still daylight, how is it possible?" Princess Mayari said.
"Look at that crescent moon, isn't amazing? I don't know how they build that but its look like it is a symbol for their Shrine." Ydeo said.
"A Shrine?" Princess Mayari said.
"Yes, why? Do they have a lot of food?"
"Not just food! A Shrine with a crescent moon, the Bishop is in there! We can ask some help to him! I met him once when I was young, he knows my Father, he will helps us!" Princess Mayari got excited after seeing the Shrine.
"Everyone knows your father, right? But, anyway, let's go then! Time to eat!" Ydeo said.
"Yes, let's go! You're amazing Ydeo!"
"But I'm still not going to be your slave no matter what compliment you give!" Ydeo said.
"Be my guard then?" Princess Mayari suggested again.
"Still a no!"
"Okay, let's go!" Princess Mayari said.
Ydeo and Princess Mayari runs towards the Shrine. However they didn't know that danger awaits them.
"Take them as prisoners." Bishop Maxim commanded as he noticed the coming of Ydeo and Princess Mayari.
"As you wish, Your Excellency!" Priest Gustov said.
On the outside, the followers of Priest Gustov are already in their position to capture Ydeo and Princess Mayari.
"That's the gate!" Princess Mayari
"Wait!" Ydeo shouted.
Ydeo noticed Priest Gustov, and dodge his attack."
"Nice reflexes." Priest Gustov said.
"What do you think you’re doing?!"
"Taking you to the prison, what do you think?" Priest Gustov said.
"Who are you!? Don't you know who I am? Take me to the Bishop." Princess Mayari said.
"I am Reverend Gustov and I do not know you, young lady, but I will really take you to the Bishop, as a prisoner, that is." Priest Gustov added.
"Why aren't you having feelings for me, even if you can't see my eyes, my presence can give goose bumps to men?" Princess Mayari said.
"Why would I?" Priest Gustov said.
"Don't mind it! He is blind!" Ydeo concluded.
Ydeo took Princess Mayari's arm, and attempt to run.
"Excellent! That's an A for you!" Priest Gustov said.
"Hold tight on me." Ydeo said.
Ydeo dashes away from the scene.
"What are you doing?!" Princess Mayari shouted.
"He is fast, I can follow him but I can't leave the shrine. Bishop Maxim is about to give his orders for the entire Priesthood who is present in the Shrine. I'll cast a signal, for now, let the guards chase them."
Priest Gustov fired a blue smoke to the sky. The guard within the vicinity immediately saw it.
"Someone infiltrate, hit the gong!" a guard shouted.
The guards immediately prepared to have a wide search. Ydeo and Princess Mayari didn't know that Gustov put a blue paint in their body. It is a sign of being a criminal on run, in Mala-Laya.
Priest Gustov went back to the Altar of Bishop Maxim. It was also that time that the other Priest came.
"Good afternoon brothers, the Bishop gave his new order, it was order no. 1" Priest Gustov said.
The entire priests that arrived from the order of Bishop Maxin was shocked with what Priest Gustov said. They are confused, Priest Pontiveros somehow was able to come in the Shrine but the unexpected order, took him off-guard.
‘Order No. 1 he said? This is bad! Bakunawa must know this!’ Priest Pontiveros thought.
"Here's the Bishop" Priest Gustov announced
"Long live, oh wise one, your Excellency!" The Priest praised the Bishop.
"I'm glad that all of you are here, I hope you did enjoy the first day of Wind Festival! Most of you came from a long journey. But first I would like to call Priest Pontiveros." Bishop Maxim said.
"Me? But why?"
In the house of Bakunawa
I still can remember her, her scent is still here. She always sleeps beside the window, waiting for my return. The cup she always uses is still in its shelf. Her vivid memories of often staring the scenery in this window, is playing right before me .The chair she broke; her hair brushes, clothes, and her ring, all still fall in its place. I feel like she left all of these knowingly of what will happen.
‘Don't worry, I'll avenge you.’
Bakunawa was gazing on the window when Ydeo appear in his house with Princess Mayari.
"What are you looking at?" Ydeo suddenly asked.
"What the--! Why are you here?!" Bakunawa shrieked. He was shocked with the arrival of Ydeo.
"Someone is chasing us." Ydeo simply answered.
"And why did you come in here?"
"It feels like no one will come here, right?" Ydeo said.
"Yes, so will you let us stay here for a while?" Princess Mayari asked.
"Okay, but don't get in my way! Do you understand?" Bakunawa warned.
"We do!" Ydeo said.
"Yes! And look Ydeo, there's a bed in here, I can sleep here! There are hairbrushes! I want to brush my hair so bad, and this cup is so cute! I will make myself home, okay?" Princess Mayari said.
"Do as you wish!" Bakunawa said defeated.
"Thank you very much!" Princess Mayari gratefully chanted.
"Can I have some of this salted fish?"
"I'm going out!" Bakunawa said.
"Don't! Someone is chasing us!" Ydeo said.
"I can protect myself!" Bakunawa said.
"What the heck?! Why are there almost thousand men, outside of my house?!"
"Well, we enter the Shrine so..." Ydeo said.
"You Idiots!" Bakunawa said.
"They are in the house of the beast, let's burn them with the house." a head guard said.
I won't let you do that!" Bakunawa said
"Hey, I will help you!" Ydeo said.
"Maybe I will help for a little!" Princess Mayari added.
"Ydeo Punch!" Ydeo said as he punches the guards.
"Gentlemen, why not fight each other for me?" Princess Mayari commanded the guards.
"Partial Equip: Night Fall. Take this, Whirlwind Twist!" Bakunawa said.
"That man is the beast! Kill him!" a guard said.
"I never thought I will see you again, Sir Zairill!" The head guard said.
"You are that guard! Don't call me that, I am Bakunawa!"
"Do not hesitate to kill that man!" The head guard ordered.
"Do you really think that you can kill me?!"
"Wow! This never ends." Ydeo said.
"What should we do? There's too many of them?" Princess Mayari asked in worry.
"We can only fight; do you know how to use a weapon?" Ydeo said.
"I know how to use spear, my knight taught me." Princess Mayari said.
Ydeo immediately stole a spear from the enemy and gave it to Princess Mayari.
"Thank you Ydeo!" Princess Mayari expressed her thanks.
"Let's fight them all!" Ydeo said.
"Howl of the wind breeze!" Bakunawa attacked.
"Too cold!" A guards said.
"Partial Equip: Whip of Nature!" The head guard chanted.
"I guess I have to use it! Partial Transformation: Arm of Obsidian!" Bakunawa said.
"So you really a Monster!"
"Song of the Wind!" Bakunawa attacked.
"What happen? Did he just took down, a hundred men?!" The Head Guard said.
"He took down 100 men in an instant?!" Princess Mayari could not believe what she was seeing.
"Wow that is so amazing!" Ydeo shouted in glee.
"I won't make him my enemy!" Princess Mayari announced with passion.
"Let's wrap this up!" Ydeo suggested.
"I don't need your help! I alone am enough! Death Wind!" Bakunawa killed another hundreds of men.
"So this is why the Bishop is wary of you." The Head Guard concluded as he reached the final moment of his life.
"I took down, 387 men!" Ydeo proudly said.
"This is not a competition, Ydeo!" Princess Mayari said.
"I took 463 men!" Bakunawa said.
"Shit!"
"You only took 150 men, Princess." Bakunawa said while cleaning and finishing up.
"Why am I included? Well most of them fight each other for me so I’m not sure if that’s correct." Princess Mayari said.
"The Twilight is near, I have to go." Bakunawa said.
"Where are you going?" Ydeo asked.
"Just leave this country! If you need a ship go to the west coast of the Manyala, if you took a horse, it will take a day of ride from here.” Bakunawa advised them.
"But--!" Princess Mayari was not heard as Bakunawa left the place.
"My Lady!" The Knight arrived with Zymon on the scene.
"You came late!" Ydeo said.
"What happened here? You, Ydeo!" The Knight shouted.
"What?" Ydeo asked confuse.
"We can go home now; we'll take a horse and go to the west coast." Princess Mayari commanded.
"Why take a horse? We can go there in 8-9 hours if we run." Ydeo said.
"That's only works to you!" Princess Mayari shouted.
"I'll carry you then?" Ydeo suggested the alternative.
"There's no way I will do that!" Princess Mayari refused.
"You really are crazy, Ydeo!" Zymon said.
"But still I feel something off." Ydeo said thinking deeply.
