Volume 2: Ydeo's Adventure and the Last Order of the Immortal Bishop - CHAPTER 20: MYSTERY AND DEPARTURE
Inside the shrine, Bakunawa came back, he slowly walk as he see how the majestic shrine turned into devastated land. He sees dead bodies, angry, teary, and mostly hopeless eyes.
"You came back? Why are you here you idiot!" Priest Gustov said.
"Are you okay now, Bakunawa?" Bishop Pontiveros asked.
"I would like to talk to you." Bakunawa said.
"Before that I will say something." Bishop Pontiveros said.
"Brothers! This young man is Bakunawa! The Zairill we know is already dead! He is now Bakunawa! I want all of you to remember this young man as new person!" Bishop Pontiveros said to all the people.
People are mad yet they cannot defy the Bishop and deep down they know the mistake they made and it happened to them.
"Let's have a walk Bakunawa." Bishop Pontiveros invited.
"Funny how you're acting like a real Bishop now." Bakunawa mentioned.
"Yesterday I wasn't sure of what's going on but thinking about makes me realize that I will be able to do more things. I am planning to help all of the Cursed Blood. Before you came, I told everyone your story and about the Cursed Blood. Of course not everyone would accept it, mostly those who are new in service, but they are trained to follow the commanded of the Bishop. So we cannot really blame them, like now they are following me because I am titled as a Bishop and a Hero.
"Did he really say it? Letting all the Cursed Blood.." Bakunawa asked.
"You mean Former Bishop Maxim? Yes, I am too, is confused. He said that He did it, because Lord Bathala says it. I actually wonder the Lord's word." Bishop Pontiveros said.
"What did the Lord Bathala said to the old man?" Bakunawa interrogated.
"Before the Bishop end his life, he said that the Lord sent him orders. At first, he was order to kill them, that's why they execute all of the Cursed Blood. The Bathala said, "Those who became Monsters must be killed!" When he turned 145 years, Bathala ordered to capture them instead, saying ‘Ana'ak the man who transforms into animals must be conquered!’ reason why they started to imprison instead of killing.” The two of them reached the quite alter that they previously had altercations on.
The Priest continued, “After then in his 298 year, he was ordered to cleanse those who are imprisoned and captured with words; "Men teach dogs, dogs obey Men." It was until the night before his death, as per him Bathala talked to him and said; "Every blood of our creations is the same, you must love each other."
"So he only follows the Lord's will... But don't you think the orders are quite confusing?" Bakunawa analyses.
"What do you mean it's confusing?" Bishop Pontiveros asked back.
“He said, "Those who became monster must be killed." What did the Lord meant by who became Monster? And who is Ana'ak? I've never heard of that before. And His third order is quite misleading too. “ Bakunawa rebutted.
"Men teach dogs, dogs obey Men." This is confusing, also the last order, every creations must love each other” It seemed quite vague. Don't you find these confusing?" Bakunawa expressed his uncertainty..
"The will of the gods are beyond human comprehension." Bishop Pontiveros simply said.
"Anyway, I came for a different reason." Bakunawa said.
"What is it?"
"It's about Bakunawa, she left me this ring and this letter."
"I see..... So in the end she chose you. Isn't that great?" Bishop Pontiveros said smiling.
"What do you feel?" Bakunawa asked.
"Honestly, I don't know. Maybe I'll focus on being a Bishop for now to have certain answers to give. How about you?" The new Bishop asked.
"I'm planning to visit her homeland and meet her father." Bakunawa answered.
"... How many years has it been? Maybe once my duties free up my schedule, I'll visit in Tora. By the way, it will be difficult but do you know how to get there?" Bishop Pontiveros asked.
"What do you mean?" Bakunawa asked.
"I see, so you do not know what kind of country Tora is. I'll draw you a map and I'll write the way or else you may not be able to get in there." Bishop Pontiveros guided.
They were provided a map right after. "What is this?! I don't get it!" Bakunawa asked.
"You will see once you are in the sea of Tora." Bishop Pontiveros assured them.
The day of the Departure.
"Why are you here? You can't take back this ship!" Ydeo said.
"Does anyone of you know on how to sail?" Bakunawa asked.
"I sailed for 12 hours from my homeland to the Ar-pi with the sailors. I am an experienced-man!” Ydeo argued.
"I bet you just row the paddle." Bakunawa said smirking
"What did you just say? You still owe a thank you!"
"Make him finish first! Besides it's only journey for us four! There's no way we can sail a ship!" Princess Mayari said.
"I'm not coming with you." Zymon informed them.
"Then why are you here?" Ydeo asked.
"I'm just your guide, so that you won't get lost or fooled!" Zymon said.
"Ahhh I see...." Ydeo said while picking his nose.
"Don't say that while picking your nose!" Zymon said.
"So what do you want to say Mr.?" The Knight said.
"I am Bakunawa, and this is actually Bishop Pontiveros ship, but he gave it to me and I sailed it with him and his crew. I know how to sail it. We might be short in numbers but with me, we can set sail." Bakunawa said.
"If you say so then go ahead, help yourself." Princess Mayari allowed.
"Before we go to your destination, I am planning to go to the county of Tora." Bakunawa said.
"That's also our destination!" Ydeo said in glee.
"No, it's not!" The Knight angrily interjected.
"Sure, I don't mind. We can go there before going emperor's land." Princess Mayari finalizes the conversation.
"As you wish, My Lady!" The Knight said.
"Yes! Yieeehaaaaa!” Ydeo shouted in excitement.
"Good luck on your journey! I'll be going then!" Zymon said his good byes.
"You too! Good luck on going back home! Thank you for everything you have done for us! I will always remember you." Ydeo said.
"I understand! So don't cry, Idiot! Good bye!"
"See you again!" Ydeo said with smiles and tears.
"Sure! See you again!" Zymon said as he really wished to come.
A new journey and challenges will come, but it seems the day is still not over.
"Also, I would like to give my thanks for helping me." Bakunawa said.
"Don't mind it, it's not a problem! Let's go now! I can't wait to see the Land of Tora!" Ydeo said.
"You really are something else Ydeo! " Princess Mayari said laughing.
"He is a blockhead; do you really want him as a guard?" The Knight asked the Princess.
"And who said I'm going to be her guard?” Ydeo asked.
"Before we celebrate, let me tell you something." Bakunawa said.
"Go ahead, you may speak.”
"It is about the Land of Tora, to what kind of Country it is, and to how we can get there."
"What do you mean by that? Is it something about their foods?! I'm not picky!" Ydeo expressed his preferences.
"It's more on about their country. Their customs are normal but...." Princess Mayari paused finding better words of description.
"But?" The Knight asked.
"It is above sea level." Bakunawa finishes it.
"What do you mean above sea level?" Ydeo asked in confusion mixed with excitement.
"The land of Tora is floating in the sky!" Bakunawa said.
"That is exciting!" Ydeo said as he excitedly jumps. "Let's go now! I can't wait! Wait for me Tora, here I come!"
"I don't think this is a good idea." The Knight expressed her worries.
"Don't worry; I'll keep all of us safe." Bakunawa assured them.
"I will always protect you, My Lady.”
"Set sail! Let's go!" Ydeo shouted.
"Before that, I want to ask you something Ydeo. I don't know if it is personal, but there is really something strange about you. Can we talk?" Bakunawa said.
"Aren't we already talking?"
New Journey to come! But what is this strange thing about Ydeo?!
Can't wait to find that!
