The Battle Rages on
The Baronia king is seen angry at his subordinates failing to capture the power source for him. Walking back and forth by his throne as Dr. Page stood by the corner.
The throne room was filled with many mechanical monsters ready at his disposal as they await a command. He turns to look at one of his subordinates. The King felt confident about their next move.
“Sullivan! Go forth and destroy our enemies.”
The man revealed himself from the shadows ready.
“I am a man of wood. Rust up and ready for battle. As a Knight piece of Baronia I shall not fail.”
“You better be right or you’ll spend the next thousand years scrubbing scrap metal off the foundry of this base.” Replied the King.
“I won’t let you down. Onwards!”
He leaves off with a set of monsters and pawns following his lead.
Back on earth, the day is already ending as Alistor and party arrives back home. They had dinner and did nothing much for the rest of the night. They awake the next day to find any news if anything was going on with Baronia activities. Many news and rumors that aren’t certain reached to them from many of the local villages as Sairori reports some he heard back to the party.
“There is one confirmed Baronia activity and a few rumored one’s going on right now.”
“Well, the confirmed source is at the east side of kingdom by the lake.”
Alistor volunteered to check out the confirmed location of Baronia activity.
“Ha very confident I see?” Tannen mocked. “But remember to not bite off more than you can chew. You are still young and inexperienced, I think Sairori and I should go.”
Alistor started arguing with Tannen as the rest watched for a moment until Sairori broke it quickly up.
“Fine then! You can go check it out. Remember even though you got the protection from a Rose spirit doesn’t mean you’re strong enough. Baronia is after it so you’ll be a likely target.”
Tannen agreed to watch over Alistor while Auroa and Maigashi where sent to scout the other city. Sairori and Katty remained behind to protect the village from any Baronia attack as the four left.
The four of them where not together long as Alistor and Tannen split up from Auroa and Maigashi at the field.
“Guess we’ll see you later then? Bet we’ll make it back before you guys” Maigashi pestered.
Tannen gives a silent stare as Alistor ignored his words.
A while later Tannen and Alistor makes their way to the lake by the Kingdom of Mathias. They arrive to the lake by to find Pawns near the construction site by the lake. The two of them move in a little bit closer to get a better look.
“Just what are they doing?” Alistor asked.
Tannen was unsure and could only tell him they’re probably building something. Cargoes and materials where being loaded and brought into a cave. Sullivan orders the Pawns to hurry and load the cargoes quicker. The pawns are working as fast as they can as the man in wood hands some a blueprint to one pawn to carry on into the cave. Alistor suddenly made a small branch snap on accident.
“What’s that sound?” The Knight looked back.
Tannen push Alistor’s head down to duck and take cover.
“Somebody must be here watching. Intruders! Show yourselves! Pawns! FIRE AWAY!”
He shouted as the pawns started to be more alert. A pawn fired a weak laser at the object the two were using to take cover with. Alistor and Tannen jumped out from cover revealing themselves. The pawns begin charging at them.
“Well, it’s a good time now to see how well you do with that rose spirit. Summon it!” Suggested Tannen.
“Right it’s time to see what I got.”
Alistor pulls out the Rose blade to call it. The spirit emerges from the blade intimidating the charging pawns with its size. The pawns are stopped on their tracks for a moment.
“What are you doing? Fight!” The Knight ordered.
Tannen came in from behind with his massive scythe as the spirit leads the way. Five pawns immediately got destroyed with one hack of Tannen’s scythe. Another five where blown to pieces by one wing from the spirits sword. Alistor did his best to fend against a couple pawns. The remaining pawns retreats as man in wood stepped in to introduce himself.
“I see you have one of the legendary rose spirits in your hands, but that does not matter. I am Sullivan. Knight piece leading the first command of the mighty Baronia Empire.”
They both look back at the wooden man as the rose spirit was still at their side with ready for more battle. Sullivan suddenly steps back.
“I have no time for the lights of you. I have other business to attend, but don’t worry you won’t be left empty handed. Pirantus! Come forth!”
A massive monster jumps out from the lake making the ground shake. Sullivan laughs as he leaves to make his way into the cave with the other pawns. The monster makes a loud growling sound.
“We got to take this one down quickly so we can catch up with him.” Tannen said.
The monster didn’t hesitate to make the first move whacking Alistor with its big mechanical arm. The spirit easily blocked the impact from its force with no effort. Tannen slash the monster a few times only causing minimal damage to it. The whole monster was composed of multiple layers of heavy sheet metal.
“This thing doesn’t have any flesh buts it’s very slow.” Alistor pointed.
The monster took that to offense as it locked on Alistor. Pirantus stomps the ground many times building rage as its palm tree head shakes rapidly.
“What is it doing?” Alistor asked.
Before he could say more, Pirantus bulled him out of the way like a football player. Tannen avoids the attack.
“You were saying again.” Laughed Tannen as Alistor got back up from the hit.”
“That thing actually understands me?” Alistor showing disbelief. “Well that what you get for underestimating something after the first move.”
The monster decides to charge at him again. Tannen attempts to intervene by attacking it but it completely ignores him to continue its rage on Alistor. He attempts to dodge but the monster comes to a halt.
“What?”
Coconuts came shooting out from the monsters head exploding on impact. Alistor gets sent flying back as Tannen took cover.
“You got to try putting me to more use.” The Rose spirit suggested.
“How? Aren’t you already out to fight?”
“You can manipulate command for me. My power is only good if you can utilize that sword. For instance, try using one of my special attacks. The Rose Crown Crasher.”
He started to follow the Rose spirits advice concentrating for a moment. He manipulated a few moves to damage the monster as it continue to focus on hitting him only. Pirantus fired its mouth laser as Alistor dodged. It fires its mouth laser the second time.
“Try telling him to block.” Tannen suggested.
The Rose Spirit shields over Alistor with his body as he tells Alistor to unleash his finisher.
“Crown Crasher!”
The monster gets finished by the Rose warrior’s swift finisher as it collapse to the ground exploding.
“Did we really do that?”
Alistor couldn’t take his eyes off the sight of victory for the moment till Tannen interrupted. They head to the cave.
“The cave of Mobius is what the sign reads.” Spoke Tannen as they take their steps inside.
They both finally caught up to see construction going inside the aquatic ruins. Baronia is constructing a silo in a form of a monster to destroy Mathias, but a barrier blocks their way from interfering. Alistor and Tannen must dispel the barrier generators that are spread out in the ruins.
“The barrier reads five so there are five sources powering this barrier. We must find and destroy them.” Tannen ordered.
The cave contained different passages that weren’t long and lead to different rooms as they checked one passage after another. Two of the five generators were guarded with a few measly pawns that where easy enough for them to handle.
“Two down and only three to go.” Muttered Alistor.
They stumbled upon two passages that’s deeper than the last ones. They decide to take the left passage to see what lies. Opening the doors, they find themselves in an empty room. The lights quickly turned a different color as a faceless monster appears before their very eyes. It puts on a happy expression mask and starts attacking.
“What is that thing?” Yelled Alistor.
The monster levitated in the air shifting its expression of faces with masks around its head.
“I am Face Changer!” The monster introduced itself in a mechanized voice. “You are intruding and Baronia don’t want the likes of you meddling with our plans. Your faces will be mine!”
They battle begins with this monster shifting out its masks. The monster shifted to its happy mask to attack them slowly. Then to its anger mask to fight close range. It started to confuse them a bit by playing around with its masks until Alistor left his guard open.
“Gah!”
It faked out Alistor as he assumed the monster was going to strike him. It quickly shifted to a sad expression hitting Tannen with a projectile.
“How annoying…” Pestered Tannen.
The monster was having fun teleporting in places. Tannen pulls out his magnifying glass to analyze the monster.
“This monster is playing games with us. We’ll have to play by its own game by tricking it.”
They both play along with the monsters act as Alistor got on the floor face down. It puts Face Changer in a state of interest and curiosity. The monster started approaching him. When it got close enough he was able to scare it with a fake out attack leaving itself vulnerable.
“Got ya!”
Tannen whacks the monster hard on the side with his scythe. Face changer spun in places around the room.
“It actually worked? I can’t believe it.” Alistor said.
Face Changer suddenly got up and wasn’t ready to stay down as it was in rage. The mask on its face suddenly shift into a blank expressionless face as it pulls out a long sword.
“Here it comes again.” Pointed Tannen.
Face Changer mindlessly attacks them in a desperate rage as its last ditch effort. They both moved out of its way as it crashed into the generator. Face Changer was destroyed.
“Let’s take care of the other room.”
They head back into the room they were before taking the path from the right passage this time. They find a big door in front of them as they both opened it.
“There’s so much water…”
They were now in a room with a pool. Water gushed from all sides of the walls leaving only the bridge and platform at the center for walking. The next generator was not far from beyond their eyes. Latched on the other side of the wall as Alistor couldn’t take his eyes off. Tannen then hears a creaking sound.
“Somethings in this room.”
A mechanized shark beast jumps out at them. Taking Tannen by surprise.
“No introduction needed.”
The monster called itself Arkadon as it tried the same attack again. The two ducks down from its attack. It attempts to lure them close to the water, but Tannen pulled it to surface with his scythe allowing them to slash away at it.
“Let’s skewer this thing.”
Arkadon then grabs Tannen by the robe, pulling him into the water. They both wrestled with each other in the waters as Alistor hesitates.
“Tannen? Oh no….”
Unsure of what to do, he stood by as the battle continues underwater. Arkadon attempts to wrap its body around Tannen, putting him in a tight bind.
Alistor continues to stand by.
“I need to do something. But what?” Alistor wondered.
His blade then reacts forcing the spirit to summon itself.
“Stop being a pansy and get in there.” Suggested the spirit.
“But I never fought an enemy underwater. Plus I hate getting wet.”
He continues to hesitate as the spirit nodded. After a brief second, Alistor got pushed into the water. He joins in on the brawl but it was too late. Tannen already freed himself from Arkadon’s bind by shifting the currents with the darkness from his magnifying glass.
“I got this.” Tannen assured.
Mud bursts open draining the waters in the room. Arkadon’s gears quickly short circuits from the mud in place. Unable to move Tannen’s scythe swung the monster towards the generator destroying it.
“And I have to get wet for nothing.” Alistor sighed.
The two quickly proceeded into another chamber. Looking for the remaining switch needed to deactivate the barrier.
“Where could that last one be?” Questioned Alistor as he continued to dry himself.
After the defeat of the two monsters a new path opened for them. The new path leads them to a new set of stairs underground. They find themselves eventually in a small aquatic maze with its water levels rising and lowering over time.
“Just great more water.” He complained.
Tannen didn’t seem to care, but Alistor finally stopped after the Rose sword reacted and shinned violently. The Rose Spirit summoned itself once again.
“Follow me.”
They both follow the Rose Spirit through the maze as waters kept rising and lowering. To their surprise it was the last generator to destroy. Tannen quickly destroys the last of the generators.
“And that’s the last one! Let’s go.” Alistor jumped.
The spirit stopped him in his tracks.
“Not yet! There’s still something here.” The Spirit pointed out.
“Like what?” Alistor wondered.
“For a young warrior you try too hard. Is this kid always in a hurry?”
The spirit directed his attention towards Tannen.
“Sadly yes…. He can never sit still” Tannen shrugged.
The Spirit approached to a hollow wall for them to examine. Taking a closer look, they notice a slight crack.
“I can feel some air breezing from the other side.” Alistor noticed.
“Stand back for a minute.”
Tannen destroys the wall, revealing a hidden chamber. The three enter the chamber to find what lies ahead.
“It seems Baronia hasn’t made it in here yet.”
Alistor and Tannen follows the spirit to find another spirit that lies awaiting to be awakened.
The Rose warrior stepped aside as they both approach the weapon. The object appeared in a form of a small axe which was different from the Rose sword.
“The source of power is one and the same. An ally calls for us.” The Spirit talked on.
Tannen approaches the Rose axe.
“I’ll take this one from here.” He claimed the rose shaped axe as his own as yet another spirit emerged.
The Rose warrior was delighted to see a friend again. The newly found spirit appeared in the form of a humanoid fighter bearing huge heavy cuffs. Column like armor flanked across its body.
“Thank you for freeing me from eternal slumber. I am a fighter at your service. So Baronia has returned… I’ll assist you with all the power I have. Call me any time.”
The spirits return back to their own respective weapons as they head back out to the previous room.
“Oh this isn’t good.”
Pawns waited for them at the point where they destroyed the last generator. Tannen skims the area for an opening.
“It seems they outnumber us. There’s no way getting around. We’ll have to clear a path then.”
Shielded pawns arrived to the scene. Now defensive, Tannen didn’t hesitate to make his first move at the swarm.
“Let’s see what you can do.”
The Rose fighter came out as Alistor gets out his warrior to join in. The two spirits charged right in. Rose fighter jumped in midair crashing down on the shielded pawns causing some to tumble down. Tannen draws out his other weapon alongside Alistor to fend off part of the army.
“Look at them go.” Alistor pointed.
Rose warrior cuts through a good part of the swarm as Rose fighter crushes through the lines of shielded Pawns with its fist. Tannen suddenly pulls out of battle leaving Alistor to take the few remaining soldiers. Another wave of Pawns suddenly arrived to the scene.
“A second fleet? Give me a break….” Alistor gasped.
“Let’s end this now. Show us your finisher.” Commanded Tannen.
Rose Fighter was bound to the command as it spread both its fist in the air. Energy beams starting firing away rapidly at the second wave taking them all out one by one. The battle ended as the fighter laid its arms down to rest.
“Not bad at all.” Tannen said. “We didn’t have to use up too much energy.”
The two spirits return back into their weapons as the two backtrack to the main room.
They finally made it to the room as Sullivan spots the two from a distance.
“It’s too late, our construction is already complete. I present Project Omega.”
A huge massive silo monster stands before them. Armed with rockets and many equipment around its body. The monster was powered up and ready to fight.
“This things huge.” Alistor stepped back hesitating, but Tannen halts him.
“No need to fear.”
The two pulled out their Rose spirits to help do battle. Omega starts with missiles for an opening to forge the ground. More missiles started firing from its body as the four easily avoided.
“We’ll have to all work together if we want to take this one down.”
The grounds started to have holes from the missiles impact. The commander watched from high above taunting them.
“When this thing is through with you, I’ll launch an all-out attack on your measly kingdom with this grand weapon.”
Omega starts to take motion in approaching them slowly. Alistor along with Rose warrior moved around it easily to do quick damage. Tannen leaps onto the monster’s back.
“Those rockets seems pretty integral to your monsters balance. If one of those would fall….I wonder?”
The Commander begins hesitating.
“Don’t just stand there? Do something!” Sullivan yelled.
The monster was starting to get confused as it struggles to shake him off.
The monster crumbled the floor by stomping the ground making the four lose balance as Tannen held on. The two spirits quickly got smacked to the side by one of its heavy arms.
“This thing is really pushing it.”
Tannen continued to hold on as it constantly stomps the floor. Clinging on to one of its shoulders. Alistor rushed in for an attack.
“STAR BREAKER!!!”
His attack impacts the monsters monitor. Blacking it out for the moment as sparks went off. Omega came to a complete stop as Tannen immediately slashed off one of its back rockets. The rocket collapse to the floor blowing up.
“It lost its balance.” The fighter pointed.
The monster was now moving awkwardly with one heavy rocket still on its other shoulders. It begin charging up a heavy laser to attack them in an awkward angle. Sparks continue bursting out from the massive monster as it pushed itself.
“Ok, do we have a plan?” Alistor asked.
The laser directly aimed at the party as Tannen and Alistor had no choice but to improvise.
“Rose Fighter, cling on to the monster’s other shoulder.” Tannen snapped. “Tell Rose warrior to shield us as long he can.”
Rose fighter jumps up on its other shoulder as Alistor commanded the warrior. Tannen fires a few projectiles at its leg. The monster continues to feel pressured as the laser missed hitting the ceiling. Rocks begin falling over as
Rose warrior covered them from harm. Sullivan begins stumbling.
“Are they suicidal?”
Rose Fighter emerged from the pile of rubble as Rose warrior blew away the pile of rubble hitting the giant monster. Parts of the monster started falling off as the rest came out unharmed.
“What? Did I underestimate their power?”
Omega was now pretty beat up as it fires more rockets aimed at the defenseless Rose Fighter.
“It’s not over yet!” The knight mocked.
Both spirits took a stand at the massive monster as Alistor and Tannen watched. The massive monster attempts another laser attack but the two spirits worked in harmony to avoid it. The monster got pressured again with both of them clinging to its other shoulder without the rocket.
“The monster…it’s falling apart.”
The monster couldn’t take anymore as it lost its entire balance with one leg breaking off. Omega desperately fires rockets missing every shot.
“Let’s do a combined finisher just for old time’s sake.” The warrior mentioned.
“For old time sake.”
Rapid shots fired away as the warrior unleashed his Final Crown Crasher at the monsters core. Both finisher impacts Omega as explosions commenced all around.
“I won’t forget this humiliation. You won’t be lucky next time. Next time!”
Back in Emerald smoke quickly erupts downtown. People are seen fleeing away from the danger as fire spreads out. The Baronia King is seen enjoying a slow casual walk admiring the destruction around him.
“What a lovely day to conquer an entire city.” The King laughed.
Spider Tanks and Gear Ships are seen in the background. Katty and Sairori are seen fighting off an army of Pawns.
“We’re being overwhelmed. They just keep on coming.” Katty gasped.
“We have to hold them till the others get back.” Sairori said.
Back from the Cave of Mobius, victory is cut short as the commander gives his final words to Alistor.
“You think you may have won, but this was all part of the plan. Right now our grand King is having a thrill in Emerald.” Sullivan snickered.
“Oh no!”
The fear for the worse came as Alistor froze for a brief moment.
“Divide and conquer baby. Till next time. Ta ta!”
The commander teleports away.
“We got to head back immediately. I can’t believe this.” Complained Alistor as Tannen didn’t bother to reply.
The four rushed out of the cave hurrying their way back home as fast as they can. With most the team divided will they be able to make it back in time before Baronia completely destroys their home?
