Unlearning

(Aranus POV)

Aranus held the knife delicately to Farila's throat and said, "You are going to sing like a canary now. I am done with your antics girl!"

Farila stared at him balefully and said, "I will never tell you anything. You will have to kill me first."

"That won't be necessary Farila, your game is up for good my dear. I have known your antics for a while now!"

Aranus looked at the throaty voice behind him in shock as he saw Ishatar's tall form almost glide to him. He turned and saw another version of her sitting in the inner court, now listening to a violinist, the hapless juggler obviously banished from the evening's entertainment.

Ishatar looked at his gaze and said, "Not everything we see is true, my friend. You will soon learn that in time, but anyway, we have better things to worry about for now." She looked pointedly at Farila.

Aranus pushed Farila in front of him to face Ishatar.
