Song Jia could see that Dai Chen seemed to still be having trouble with focusing.

"Regarding this, set it aside for now. Focus on your recovery first." She said.

Dai Chen nodded, sighing.

He couldn't fathom how an assassination attempt could get past him.

They nearly succeeded, if not for Dai Bao and Song Jia having discovered him before it was too late.

"Umm–by the way. Where are we? This is not anywhere in our residence." Dai Chen said.

Dai Bao froze. His hand, holding the chopstick, was in mid-air. He glanced at Song Jia then at Dai Chen then back to Song Jia again, as if asking if it was fine to tell his grandfather where they were.

"Dai Chen. Things that are personal–you know who I would tell it to, right?" Song Jia swirled the tea in the cup she held, then lifted her cold eyes to him.

Dai Chen gasped inwardly. It was as if he was taken back to the past when he served under General Song Jia.
