Chapter 72 - License Plate

The warning sound in his earpiece flooded his sterling grey eyes with trepidation. 

"Why are you silent?" Clyde asked him again when he didn't hear the other man's reply. 

Lucas swallowed his fear, seemingly torn between two hard choices.

If Clyde didn't show up to the banquet to prove that the rightful heir to the Falcon Group was still alive and not killed in that jet explosion as rumors said, he would fall out of favor even further. 

"Speak up, Luke." The younger Alpha ordered and slammed the door to the black Urus waiting to take him to the main house. "Why do you look so panicked? Is something wrong?"

This overwhelming pressure was clearly new to Lucas.

Before, he wouldn't hesitate to make the right decision to ensure his young master's safety, both from the threats within and outside the company.

But this... this situation was different.
