Chapter 2

Nicole woke up early and decided to cook breakfast for Claude. The couple is living together in an apartment close to their school.

This makes their everyday life easier especially in the morning when they have classes, they can arrive earlier than usual.

She started to prepare the necessary ingredients that she will need to cook their breakfast such as eggs, bacon, rice, and coffee.

She firstly makes the rice and then moves on to making the coffee. 'Claude likes his coffee when it is bitter,' she thought for a moment before making it.

Time passes by quickly and Nicole is done with cooking and preparing the table for them to eat.

She then shouts on top of her lungs "Love, breakfast is ready, come down now." Claude muttered to himself how noisy his girlfriend is.

He quickly stands up and makes his way to the table to eat. Since he doesn't want to upset her.

Today, both of them do not have any class, their school gives them a 1-day no school day. Midterms are coming up so the school decided to give their students some time to breathe and relax.

Nicole saw this as an opportunity to spend time with his brother, Kane, a high school student.

"Love, can I leave early today?" she asked Claude, who is eating his food happily.

"Sure, but why? Do you have plans?" he replied.

"Yes, I want to treat Kane and have some fun with him. It's been a long time since the two of us have fun"

"That's great, Kane is starting to feel jealous of me"

Both of them laugh at Kane, he can be childish sometimes.

Kane truly loves his sister, ever since her family found out that she has heart disease, they always feel on edge and ready to break down but Nicole notices this and encourages them that she is much stronger than her illness so they can feel assured.

After eating breakfast, the two of them do their chores.

Nicole finishes this faster than Claude and decided to shower first as she was covered in sweat.

She has been working right after she woke up. Claude notices this and asked her "Are you alright?" "Yes, I'm fine" 'Thank goodness' he thought and continued with what he is doing.

She quickly got ready, she is excited to see her brother and have some fun with him.

Nicole is now wearing a summer dress and sandals.

She also wears light makeup to make her presentable, she thought.

Claude is also getting ready he plans to drop her off at their meeting place.

After he finishes getting ready, he told Nicole that he is ready and they can leave now.

The two of them are now inside the car.

Nicole calls her brother Kane "Hello?" he answered, "Hello Kane, we're on our way, how about you?" she replied, "I'm still getting ready, text me if you arrive first" Kane replied, "Ok" and she hangs up.

"What did he say?" Claude asked Nics.

"He said he is still getting ready and that I should text him if I arrive first" she replied.

Claude nods at this and continued driving.

He knows how close these siblings are, so he decided not to tag along and just leave them be.

Shortly after that, they have arrived at the meeting place, they arrived first and Nics texted his brother that she arrived first and she will be waiting in a café near the mall.

Claude didn't leave immediately, he stayed behind with Nics.

Kane received the message and immediately leave the house. He didn't want his sister to wait for so long.

Lucky for him a taxi is near and he straight away called it. Kane is still a high school student so he is not yet allowed to drive.

After he entered the car, the driver asked him where can he take him, and Kane answered to take him to the nearby mall.

The drive was not that long because after 10 minutes he is already at the meeting place.

After paying the taxi driver, Kane immediately leave and went to the café his sister was talking about.

He is excited to meet his sister since his sister started studying in Law School the time they spend with each other shortens.

Both of them are busy with school and sometimes their schedule doesn't matches with each other leaving them no choice to meet up.

As he enters the café, his sister saw him and waves at him while calling him "Kane, I'm here." He saw this and thought how embarrassing it is.

He immediately went where his sister is and saw that Claude is also with her. He frowns at this. 'I thought this day was just supposed to be the two of us' he thought not knowing that Claude just stayed behind to wait for him and leave straight away.

Claude noticed this and couldn't help but smile at Kane, 'He's so childish' he thought.

As if on cue Claude stands up and kissed his girlfriend "I'm leaving, make sure to enjoy your date with your brother" he said.

Claude wants to clean up their apartment because lately their home had been pretty chaotic, and many things are scattered.

Nicole was shocked at her boyfriend, she didn't expect him to kiss her in front of her brother. "Ok, take care."

Claude tapped Kane's shoulder indicating that he is leaving. Kane can't believe this but the smile plastered on his face grew bigger. 'So it's just the two of us' he thought.

Kane sat next to his sister as they watch Claude leave.

Before they start their date they decided to stay a little more at the café and catch up with each other.

He told his sister all the things that have been keeping him busy. Nicole looked at him and smile a little 'He grew up rather quickly' she thought.

She started to talk and tell her brother that midterms are coming up so she was studying crazy.

Kane laughs at this, he didn't know that his sister was studying so hard because as far as he knows she couldn't care less about grades when she was in high school. 'Well, I guess she started caring about her grades' he thought.

After catching up they decided to start their so-called date.

They started it off by watching a movie. The movie they chose was a sad one, Nicole was crying and Kane couldn't help but tease her. "You're such a crybaby" he said "Well, it's not my fault that my eyes are sweating" she gave her brother a death glare after saying this.

Kane laughs so hard that some people complain how loud he is. Nicole was embarrassed, 'I don't know him' she thought as she looked away at Kane.

The movie finishes with Nicole feeling embarrassed and Kane that was still laughing. "Stop laughing already, your embarrassing me" she said, Kane who hears this quickly stopped laughing as he doesn't want to make her sister mad any more than this.

The two of them started walking and came across an arcade. "Nics, let's play here" Kane said, "Sure, play basketball against me" she replied.

Both of them are competitive so the duo gave their all in playing basketball. Nicole won the first round and Kane couldn't accept this so he calls for another round.

This time Kane was the winner, and as expected Nicole calls for another round.

They both played basketball until they were satisfied with a score of 5-5.

Nicole couldn't handle the game anymore "Let's end the game here" she said.

Kane notices that his sister was having a hard time breathing, "Sure, but are you alright?" he asked, "I'm fine but could you get me a bottle of water."

Kane immediately leaves to buy his sister a bottle of water.

He started to panic a little as he was worried about his sister's health.

But after buying water and giving it to his sister, he sees that her breathing is back to normal, he started to calm himself.

"We should find a bench for you to seat and relaxed a little" he said,

"Sure, it seems I pushed myself a bit too much this time" she replied.

He saw a bench not far from them and the two of them went in there to sit.

As they sat on the bench, he started to talk, to help his sister to calm. "Nics, I think I want to be an Architect" he said, "Really?" she asked, "Yes, I find it fun to draw and design things so I thought I should try studying to become an architect" he explained, "That's good, it can be pretty hard sometimes but as long as you enjoy it then I don't see any problem in pursuing what you want" she replied and smiled at her brother.

Time passes by quickly and the two of them decided to call it a day.

Claude was already waiting for them outside the mall, Nicole messaged him to picked them up.

Claude saw how happy the siblings are and a smile formed on his lips. 'This two are really close, I'm starting to get jealous of Kane' he thought for a moment but he knows that it is normal for siblings to be close.

Nicole saw her boyfriend outside the mall waiting for them she waves at him indicating that they are ready to leave.

The siblings entered Claude's car and drove to her parent's house where Kane was also staying.

The time they drove is not long as their house was close to the mall.

They arrived at their parent's house and drop Kane off.

The couple also went inside the house to greet Nicole's parents, they talked and catch up with each other but not long after they went inside the couple decided to leave.

Both of them have to study for the upcoming midterms, Nicole's parents understood this and they allowed them to leave early.

Claude and Nicole arrived at their apartment after a 20-minutes drive.

The day was long and fun both of them thought. They decided not to study anymore and just rest for the night.

The couple wants to enjoy their break because they know how busy it will get once the midterms started.

Nicole washed up and Claude was next.

They already ate dinner at Nicole's parent's house so they don't need to cook dinner.

When both of them are done washing up, they decide to watch a movie and chill in their bed.

After a few minutes, Nicole fell asleep and Claude stares at her and smile. "I love you" he said, and turned the TV off.

He was tired as well so it didn't take him long to fell asleep.
