Chapter 4

The next day is finally their midterms.

All of them are nervous and don't know what to do.

On the other hand, Claude is calm and doesn't seem to be nervous at all.

Since he studied so much he felt that it is only a given to have confidence in what he knows.

After all, he believed that what he studied will not betray him.

While looking at Claude, she felt that she needed to have confidence in what she studied.

Rather than feeling nervous, she also started to calm herself and remember all the things she studied.

After getting ready the four of them went to school.

"Good luck everyone" Nicole encourages them.

Claude, Freia, and James smiled at her.

"We can do this, Fighting" Freia added.

Now that everyone is feeling good they started going to their respective rooms.

The Midterms will be for 2 days.

These 2 days felt so long for all the students taking it.

The first day consists of all the hard subjects but luckily for the four of them, they studied it pretty well.

The second and last day consisted of the easy ones.

Claude was feeling good before, during, and after taking the test.

While the other three we're feeling a mix of nervousness and happiness.

All of them are happy that the Midterms are finally over.

They can finally relax a little.

After Midterms their school gave them a 1-day no school day, to help their students relax and unwind.

The students are happy about this announcement since all of them really need this break.

Claude planned this break to be a mini date for him and Nics.

She has no idea that Claude was preparing something for her.

As usual, Claude is preparing an amusement park and beach date.

Since both of them started going out Claude always chooses these 2 as a date place for the both of them.

It also makes Nics feel special she knows how hard it is to convince her parents to agree to him having an amusement and beach date with her because of her disease.

After preparing everything the night before the break Claude asks Nics if she has any plans.

"I don't have any plans for tomorrow" she replied.

He sighed in relief. "What? Are you asking me on a date or something?"

This made Claude flinched a little but still manage to give her an answer.

There is no point in beating around the bush he knows that she already has an idea of what is happening tomorrow.

"I was wondering if you have some time for tomorrow, and yes I'm asking you on a date" he answered straightforwardly.

She was taken back at how straightforward Claude is.

"Ok let's go on a date it's been a while after all" she said.

This makes Claude happy but sad at the same time because Nicole knew what was going on.

He thought that the next time when he is going to asked her again on a date it will be a complete surprise for her.

Claude stares at his girlfriend and a smile forms on his face. He thought how casual his girlfriend is, this makes her really special.

After arriving at their apartment, Nics decided to bake cookies.

This will help her forget about the test since she's not sure if she will pass it or not.

Claude is in his room playing online games.

He invited her to join him but she refuses.

Nicole is a good cooked, she is the one who always cooks their meal.

While baking, she felt a pang on her chest.

She was alone in the kitchen, with no one to help her she felt helpless.

Since she couldn't bear the pain anymore she decided to take her meds and started to calm her breathing.

Nicole decided not to call her boyfriend, she doesn't want to be dependent on him.

After calming her breath everything is back to normal.

She cannot feel the pang in her chest anymore which made her smile.

Nicole continues what she was doing and the cookies are ready to be bake.

She put the cookies in the oven with a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 8-12 minutes.

She decided to watch some Netflix shows while waiting for the cookies.

She loves watching K-drama.

After some time, the cookies are baked and ready to be eaten but she decided to let them cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes before moving them in a container.

The next day, it is their break and the couple is on their way to the amusement park.

This amusement park is a seaside one, so Claude always chooses these 2 as a place for their date.

They arrived at the park and notice that there are not many people walking around.

Claude and Nics decided to spend the whole day at the park and the night at the beach.

These are their routine whenever they will go here.

They ate breakfast at the hotel nearby before going to the park. The couple decided to check-in, in the nearby hotel since they will not go home for today.

After getting ready and all they finally went to the park.

There are many restaurants inside the park and a lot of rides to choose from. Nicole is feeling excited, she wants to ride all of them but decided not to because of her illness.

She needs to mind her actions if she wants to have fun.

"What do want to do first?" Claude asked her.

"How about we go first to the souvenir shops?" she replied.

"Sure"

"I'm going to buy a lot of souvenirs for Freia and James"

"Don't bother buying anything for James" he said coldly. This makes her laugh.

"Why?"

"He will only brag about it"

"Just leave him be, that means he's happy about"

Claude couldn't do anything to stop her from buying things impulsively.

After getting everything she wants she finally decided to pick a ride.

"Let's try the new virtual ride" she suggested. Claude nods at her and they went to the new ride.

"Are you okay?" Claude asked

"Yes I'm fine"

The ride went on for 5 minutes and Nicole is feeling happy at how good the new ride is.

"This is my new favorite ride" she said while walking toward a rollercoaster ride.

"Love, I think I need to pass on this one" Claude said nervously.

Claude has acrophobia.

Nicole notices this and nods at him.

She decided not to ride it since she doesn't want to leave him alone.

The couple found another ride, it is the bumper car one.

She felt so excited just by seeing the colorful cars.

Time passes by and it is already time for lunch.

Claude volunteered to order food. He ordered Mac & Cheese, 2 chocolate shakes, and a fruit platter.

After getting his order he immediately went to their table. Both of them are starving.

Claude suggested that they rest for a while in their hotel room.

He notices that his girlfriend is sweating a lot and this made him more worried about her.

Nicole agreed to it since she knows her body well.

The couple went to their rooms and rested for a while.
