Wait, what do you mean by feelings?

Chapter 29

The swelling on my knee went down but my arm still ached. I knew that this pain would be something I would have to carry for the rest of my life. I however hoped that the pain would not be to much to handle. Ever since my mother questioned the way I looked at Omar I had questioned it too, so I stopped looking at him.

"It's been ages since you've eaten with Omar, what's wrong?" Owais asked placing our food on the desk in front of us

"Well, I just need some space you know."

"You and space?

"I've honestly never heard anything so stupid in my life. Something else is up," he said before being called to the office.

I sighed in relief. I was able to dodge 2 bullets at once. While I bit into my burger Omar walked in taking his seat in front of me so I choked a little spitting some of my food onto him, I quickly stood up trying to wipe it off.

He grabbed my arm, "are you trying to touch my chest?"

I slapped the tissue into his face taking my seat, "I have my own chest to touch okay."

He laughed changing his shirt while I turned away.

"Why are you disturbing my peaceful lunch with your presence?" I asked

"So are we going?" he said forwarding the poster to me

"Us two?" I asked

"If you want the others to come with then be my guest, we have to get to class now," he said pulling me out of my desk while I tried stealing another bite of the food Owais brought over earlier.

I didn't want to be awkward around him, but it wasn't easy considering the rumours about the both of us. It was difficult and I could tell that it was bothering him as well. People murmured about us while we trained, we got funny stares and often I found the girls gossiping about us in the locker room. But he wasn't making it easy by wanting to go out all the time and by being extra nice to me sometimes. That`s why I needed space.

At the dojo later while wrapping my hands I met Jamal sneaking him to a corner as Omar went over to the bathroom, "how would you know when you like someone?"

He laughed choking on the water he was sipping on, "Why would you ask me of all people for relationship advice."

"Oh please, I know you've been in tons of relationships before and this isn't about relationships it's about finding out if you like someone."

"The fact that your asking about it means you like him."

"It's not about me, okay, it's for a friend…It's for Owais, he asked me the question last time and I told him to get back to him."

"Really," he said raising a brow.

"Yes!"

"I guess eye contact…when you find yourself looking away whenever your eyes would meet, or when your heart skips a beat. Those are the basic stuff, but if you really like him then you would notice everything he does…"

"Oh no," I said before going back to my spot as Omar walked out of the locker room.

"What were you guys doing?" he asked, placing his towel down

"Nothing, Jamal was just showing me a new technique."

"Yes that, is exactly what we were doing."

Speak about being a bad liar, but it was good enough to ward of Omar's questions.

'Omar'

After class the three of us went over to pick up the dojos uniform. I overheard Jamal and Elizahs conversation…why is this girl always crushing on people, how do I leave peacefully knowing this. I did however find it odd that she hadn`t been herself since Zamin got engaged to her best friend. Maybe she still feels something for him. We dropped off the uniform at the dojo and then Jamal was the first to leave. He had a date or something. At least someone is moving on.

"If you're not going to tell me what's bothering you, my guessing might kill me soon."

"I was just upset about how we have less than a month left with each other…" she said

"I thought you were upset because of Zamin marrying Saleema."

"Not at all," she said looking down, " I'm in love with someone else…"

"Who is it?" I asked a little hurt by the sudden remark

"He'll find out soon. Cause after meeting him I don't want anyone else," she said walking away from me.

Now I know how annoyed she must have felt by all the cliffhanger conversations I left her with.

"You home?" my father asks handing me more documents, "the animation application remember?"

"I just came to pick them up, I'll be out."

"Stay at home for at least the last month. It will do you some good," he said

"If I stay I won't give my books the attention they deserve. I'll see you later," I said taking my leave

No one is making this easy for me.

~weeks later~

The exam was over and everyone was finally happy. Except for me of course, but seeing Elizah cheer up after a while made me feel great.

She sighed waving two coupons in front of me, "We have got to take advantage of this."

"it's expired, "I said grabbing some vending machine snacks.

"Dang it," she said furiously, "did you order the festival tickets?"

"Obviously, for all 7 of us including your parents makes it 9 tickets?"

"Yes…by the way I'll see you later I have plans with Jamal."

She rushed out of the hallway leaving me with her snack, I suddenly lost my appetite. I found myself in a doughnut shop…the only reason I turn to a doughnut whenever I'm angry or sad…is because my mother always use to make me fresh doughnuts every time she would notice I was not okay. They don't taste the same now though, everything is very different now.

"The fitness junkie is all alone with over 10 doughnuts in front of him," Owais said calling Zakira over

"Why thank you for the friendly reminder but that my friend is the scales job."

"Woah no need to bite my head of, I'm not Elizah."

"What does this have to do with her."

"Since she's arrived she's the only one who can push you this far," he said collecting his order before leaving.

Speak about always calling someone out.
