Missing you, is painful.

Chapter 37

I received a transfer letter from the current dojo I was in, to the one Omar was currently training at. According to the letter Zakira drafted on behalf of the organisation, I wasn't given enough infrastructure to explore my talents.

Confused as I was I went over to her office…I was training with Olympic coaches and black belts why wouldn't I be receiving adequate facilities?

"Explain this," I demanded slapping the paper onto Zakiras desk

"Isolated training, you'll be representing us in the youth programme. There are too many distractions over here," she said

"There are many other dojos, why this one?"

"It's the smallest one, "she said

"If you want to be bigger than me and Omar you need to go through this. Or do you want to give up this opportunity?" she said annoyed yet calm

I frowned, "ill think about it, I don't like it when people try to make decisions for me."

I left the office, respectfully. She was still my senior.

I don't recall signing up for this…but then again this was a way of me meeting up with Omar again. He would think I'm running after him though and isolated training meant leaving my studies. I wasn't up to making such a sacrifice.

I did however want to stay away from any type of sin, that this situation could lead to.

"This cake is for you," he said passing it to me

"You know that I stopped eating baked stuff a while ago."

"It's from Omar, to congratulate you."

"I thought he was mad at me, we hardly spoke over the phone."

"That's plain Omar for you, he's too old fashioned for a phone...here take it like I said he's proud of you," he said showing me the cake, "but since you don't like sweet stuff I'll help myself then," he said closing it up

"Wait no, today's cheat day!" I said grabbing the box.

"Have you thought about the isolated training you'll earn way more than you use to as a tennis player?"

"Who am I training with?"

"Me, Zakira or Omar. Depends on who you prefer."

"Omar?"

"He's been on the top charts, most wanted opponent. The size of the dojo never limits the opportunity. besides, it's only for a month."

"Then I'm in," I said licking the frosting of the cake.

For the first time in months did I smile, chocolate has never tasted as sweet.

We rode over to the other side of the city, unpacking…small was an understatement. It was extremely tiny compared to the other dojo. The first few days were the presentation and military fitness training. The food is what me the saddest.

"Sensei Owais with Jaqua for isolated training, Jamal with Zakira and Omar with Elizah."

"Can I please trade with Jamal," I said raising my hand

"I've grouped you based on your technique and strengths, you guys complement each other the most.".

After the rooms were assigned I was stuck being a complementary student to someone I was in love with. I wasn't happy at all, but I was..

"Day one we working on the formation and arm strength," I said trying to get straight to the point

"What about the leg program," he asked pointing towards the sheet

I quickly pulled it away standing, "We do not focus on that in the first week."

"Don't run from me I won't bite," he said, "we are basically equal now."

Flustered I began my training from a distance as he ate his fried dough, I couldn't understand how he of all people could have that and not complain. I grabbed his pastry box filled with nothing but my favourites.

"You want one?" he asked wiping his mouth

"Maybe one won't hurt."

I said biting into a cream puff, heaven on earth, "I missed you so much!" I yelled before getting caught by Owais who confiscated it

"That's the first time I've seen you smile since you've gotten here."

"What…"

He left starting his warm-up. Wait, how does he know that I'm not okay…later after freshening up we went back to our tiny dorms.

It was big enough for a single bed and a desk but other than that, nothing of it was fun to be in. While admiring the calligraphy on the wall, Omar knocked on my door and as I opened it up, he picked me up running with me. After trying to fight him of to put me down we arrived at the outside training area.

" Will you marry me!" written in the sky

A huge teddy bear was thrown into my face, and me thinking about how this could only be a dream.

Which was only a dream, I woke up, and laid on my bed and I yelled to my pillow.

"You look ugly when you overthink," he said tossing a skipping rope towards me

"Hmph, says Shrek himself."

"That must make you Fiona then," he said winking as I tossed the bottle onto his face. He moaned as it hit his face, "Have you forgotten that my nose is still healing!"

"I'm sorry but I don't see how that is my problem in any way."

"Don't cry when I start teasing you every day," he said throwing a bag at me

I did feel bad, but that was the first time in ages that I've responded as myself and nothing more.

We all usually met at the end of the day and had an extravagant meal on the mat as we spoke about each others progress. I accidentally fell asleep on that day, waking up to Omar seated near me.

" Can you get off my lap now?" he asked looking towards me

"I'm so sorry!" I said pushing myself up.

"You can keep my jacket, I hope you've rested enough…I only have 3 hours left to rest sleep now, I'll see you tomorrow."

"I'm really sorry, I don't know what came over me."

"Wake me up as soon as training starts," he said leaving.

I had never felt so embarrassed before. But why did he wait?

Was he not allowed to leave, why would he wait for me to get up?

I have to make it up to him. I slapped my forehead as I checked the time. 2 am.
