Chapter 73
"You do know that you can come over whenever you want, right?" Owais said, closing his laptop. "My parents miss you and Zamin."
"I'm sorry, I just…" I trailed off, struggling to find the right words.
"I don't remember marrying him or falling in love with him. It's all new."
"You guys are a match made in heaven. You'll figure it out soon; don't stress too much about it, okay?" he replied, handing me a sweet.
I couldn't confide in him either. It seemed like he didn't know. Or maybe he did and was avoiding it. Because in this life, he's married to a colleague and not Zakirah. Perhaps he, too, wants to forget about her or already has. Maybe that was his last wish. Maybe...
But I would never wish for such a thing. Omar had always been kind, loving, and honest. He took care of me like no other. I mean, Zamin did too... but he wasn't Omar.
"You're back," Zamin said, grabbing my hand. "I prepared something for you."
