A bandit.

Camry slammed a foot on the brake bringing the motorbike to an abrupt halt. She remained seated on the bike, her legs by each side of the machine. She was unaware of the surprised look thrown her way.

Her hand raised, her slender fingers hidden beneath the dark gloves curled and weaved their way underneath her helmet. She undid the hook and removed the helmet from her head.

With the helmet off her head, she got a better view of the surroundings — her new workplace.

One after the other, she removed her gloves and her paperwhite fingers came to view. Those slender and delicate fingers would make a perfect stroke in calligraphy.

Camry tilted her head and checked out the place. She did not need to be told that she was currently in the business area of the country. The location where major empires were built.

She raised a brow, she was certain to have read the address correctly but was amused the address led her to such a place. Her mind did not linger further on any thoughts.

Camry climbed down from the bike, she slipped her hand into her pocket. She took lazy strides towards the building.

There was nothing fancy about the building, it was simply a solid structure, a bit like the man it served. It made one wonder how the activities carried out in such a forlorn construction could top the world's list of gaming development.

"Good morning, how may I help you?" A security guard approached her as she got to the entrance of the company.

"Work" Camry was too lazy to form too many sentences, she could feel the man's scrutiny gaze on her but she cared less about it.

"Excuse me but..." the man gave her a look over, she was just casually dressed in overly tight leather trousers, a slightly tucked-in white sweatshirt, and her signature faux leather high boots.

The guard had wanted to show her out that she did not belong in that kind of place and there was no way she had come to work in the company but he bit back the impolite words that he had for her in his guts.

He was an elderly man who had a soft spot for the younger generation. He probably thought she was drunk and pitied her.

Just as the guard was deliberating on what to do with Camry, a woman walked out of the sliding doors. For some reason, she looked tense and her eyes darted back and forth in urgency.

She looked at her wristwatch and then ran her fingers through her blonde hair. She turned around and her eyes fell on Camry and the guard. She walked towards them.

"Good morning old John" The woman greeted upon reaching them. Camry's presence had not caught her eyes.

"Morning, Mary. What made you so worked up this early morning. Have you met with the boss this morning?" The guard asked with a small smile.

"I will probably cry if I had met him. But the only thing that could save me now is that person getting here as fast as possible!" Mary uttered in exasperation. Her fingers gripped her wrist as she looked at her watch again.

"Oh, what person?" The guard questioned. He had forgotten the person standing beside him. She did not mind either and was not paying attention to their discussion.

"Yeah, we found a new secretary for the boss yesterday. I told that person to get here by seven this morning. Just look at this, it is a few minutes to seven. I cannot report to the icy king without bringing his new secretary along else I will be so damned!"

Mary rubbed her forehead harshly, she probably was stressed but was doing well not to put so many emotions on her face.

Camry turned to look at the woman. If she heard correctly, the company had just hired a secretary who was supposed to report to work at seven that morning... That should be herself, right? Her brows raised slightly.

"A new secretary for the boss?" The guard wondered.

"Yes... Argghh... There are only three minutes left! Why isn't she here yet?!"

"That new secretary can't be her, right?" The guard said thoughtfully and nodded in Camry's direction.

"Her, who?" Mary's eyes met with Camry.

"..." She was speechless. Mary let her eyes rack over Camry's body twice. She was in disbelief, she cleared her throat.

"You... who are you?" Mary asked. Although Camry was not looking like a suitable candidate for the job, Mary could not help but pray in her heart that she was the new secretary. Whatever, she needed a secretary urgently and anyone would do.

"Camry." A response came.

"... O-okay" somehow, Mary found communicating with Camry a lot harder than communicating with her icy king boss. However, she perceived the same cold air around them.

"I guess you are here... for the job?" Mary asked carefully. She doubted her own question as she looked at Camry again.

The young lady could not be any more arrogant than she already was. With her hands hidden away in the pockets of her trousers, the air around her was unruly and mischievous. She was just the epitome of an easygoing person who could at the same time cause a big upheaval.

"Yes," Camry voiced expressionlessly. Even after hearing the nature of her new job, she was not in the least moved by it.

"Oh, right..." Thank goodness! Mary breathe. "Come, come. You are gonna be late" She hurriedly ushered Camry into the company.

"The boss' new secretary..." The guard muttered to himself and chuckled. It looks like work will become fun very soon.

Under everyone's questioning gazes, Mary led Camry and they got into the elevator that took them to the top floor of the building. The CEO's office.

The two of them were in the elevator but Mary found it very difficult to say something to the other person. She threw her a side glance.

She leaned lazily on the elevator's wall, her eyes dropping and her hands remained hidden in her side pocket. Her nonchalance about her surrounding intensified her rebellious spirit.

"Ehm... Camry?" Mary started.

Camry raised her head and looked at her. She had a brow arched. She was simply asking "What is it?" with her expression.

"Er... About the boss..." Mary paused. She had wanted to warn Camry about the icy king but something about the way Camry looked at her made her unable to speak.

That cold gaze, she had the resemblance of a bandit, her appearances were both a bandit and wild. Albeit a plain face, it was daunting and expressionless.

In her opinion, Mary felt that face could provoke all kinds of intimidating effects.

"What?" Camry seethed. Mary had not spoken to her but was just staring at her. It was disturbing.

"You—"

Mary cleared her throat but before she could speak, the elevated arrived at their destination and opened. They stepped out.

Following Mary's lead, they walked a hallway down to a door. It was the CEO's office. Mary pressed the doorbell. A tight-lipped 'come in' came through the door and they walked in.

Camry let her eyes wander around a bit as she stood behind Mary. Another boring haven, she thought to herself.

"You are three minutes and twenty-five seconds late" Mr. Hogan uttered. Mary suppressed the urge not to rub her forearms. Oh, how she missed her boss' cold voice.

"I am sorry sir" she apologized. "That will not be repeated"

"Of course not! You will have your job to lose not mine!" He snapped.

Even Camry raised a brow. Looks like somebody woke up on the wrong edge of the bed.

"Now, where is my secretary?" He tapped his diamond-trimmed pen on the desk.

"She... Here sir" Mary suddenly did not know how to introduce her boss and this new secretary.

There was an urge to bring Camry back and pretend she had not found a secretary for the boss. It was too late for that now, so she stepped aside, and Camry came to view.

"This is..." a sharp glint that could be mistaken for astonishment flashed through his eyes but it disappeared too soon as his rigid face cracked and was clouded by anger.

Mary ignored the obvious outrage in her boss' eyes and said, "your new private secretary sir—"

"I heard you the first time!" He snapped.

Okay...

"How do you expect me to work with this—!"

"Camry," a low voice said coldly. She concealed her anger and took a proud step closer to the desk. She could tell this stupid boss was going to insult her and that was what she could never appreciate.

"That is my name" she enunciated sharply while holding his gaze, her voice void of any emotions.

Pffft— a snicker was heard.

Mr. Hogan's head snapped in Mary's direction. His azure-colored eyes were set ablaze, it erupted a blue flame that could consume just anything that crosses its flaming path. Of all things he hated, he disliked audacious people the most, he would go any length to break them.

At that point, Mary wanted nothing but to be invincible. She hid her smile with a slight cough.

"Ahem... I have matters to attend to" she said and for the first time, she did not wait to be dismissed but left the office directly.

She ran all the way to her department and was received by the anxious Brend and Blakes. When they saw her approach in such a hurried manner, they were alarmed.

"Mary, did something go wrong? Are we going to get into trouble this time?" Brenda asked as soon as Mary sat on her chair.

"Yes," Mary responded and sighed.

When they heard that, their heart sank. After looking at the poor resumé of the applicant, they already assumed this... Their boss probably found out about this too.

"But, it is not just the kind of trouble that you are thinking about..." Mary added.

Brenda and Blakes exchanged glances, they looked at their senior with a raised brow. Mary grinned widely.
