Paths Crossed

...It had been an odd sight, one Safrina had never expected to see. A wolf that seemed almost ghost-like but for some reason, she felt like she needed to follow them…

The school had finally been let out, and that meant...it was time to go home (duh!). Well, at least for Safrina it had been time to go home as the girl did not partake in any sort of school events when it came to after-class activities but at one point she had been in AV club but it did not last long before she stopped showing up, putting her time in other things.

Taking a deep breath of relief while she walked out of the doors of the school. The sun's bright rays almost blinded the high schooler, narrowing her eyes slightly to block her eyes from the harmful sunlight she began her search for her friends. Normally, she would hang out with them at the end of school near the tree in front of the school but, the security guards at the school had told them they weren't allowed to do that and was forced to move their hang out base at the sidewalk where students are picked up by their families or begin their long trek journey home.

It was a hot and humid day, and Safrina let a soft sigh escape from her lips, knowing her trek home wasn't going to be a fun one, however, this kind of weather meant that there was a possible chance of a thunderstorm— one that she would always welcome. Those were her favorite things about summer, not only did it bring the promises of a bit of a cool breeze, but it also made things smell fresh and earthly, the smell of rain basically.

Although she had been lost in her thoughts, Safrina had realized she stopped near her friends, their small circle already forming while they began chattering away about the day— unbothered for now by the hot and humid air. Safrina stayed quiet for a bit, analyzing and listening in on the conversation before attempting to join in on the conversation and, it wasn't long before everyone began saying their goodbyes, giving each other a hug, a normal thing the group did before disbanding and heading home.

Safrina was always the last to leave, making sure the others headed out before she did-perhaps it was because she wanted to make sure she was able to see them leave or it was out of a small habit of her to be the last to go. Pulling her phone from her pockets-it was a small compact touch phone, fitting perfectly in the girl's small hands while she pulled her headphones out from another pocket, unraveling the cord before plugging it into the phone so she could listen to her music.

Soon Safrina's world slightly faded around her once the music began to play, which helped her not be so bothered by the humid weather, and so, on her way home the girl was slightly zoned out but also aware of her surroundings, noticing the dark grey clouds that were forming as well as the traffic forming, different cars coming and going, fading into the horizon as she walked.

At one point, even she herself had not realized it— Safrina noticed she had been looking down at the ground while she had been walking. Pausing a bit, she lifted her head a bit only to notice a strange figure, well, not exactly strange but.... Who would think that they would witness a wolf, of all creatures to see! At first, she thought she had been imagining the incident but, it would seem she had not been the only one to see the creature.

She noticed the odd looks received from the strange sight of the creature through the untinted windows of cars and even those who had also been walking in pairs had also begun murmuring under their breath, asking each other if they too had seen what just had happened. As confused as she had been, Safrina shook her head and continued walking-keeping the odd site wrapped tightly through her mind, though she had gotten an odd feeling about that creature, though she couldn't put her finger on why exactly she did but… That thing, creature, whatever it is...it's bad news she thought to herself.

Shaking her head the girl hurried her way home, picking up the pace a bit— trying to push away the bad feeling that had begun to grip at her.

Oracle had sensed something, perhaps...someone who...no, the creature shook their head. This was not a way to deduce who they were supposed to inform of the events that were to come. How though? How were they going to get close to the "chosen" and… would they accept something such as what Oracle would bring to them? Probably not. They remembered the first time they were informed of being the next "Oracle" a meaning of stripping one's original name and leaving anything that they had known behind. Genderless, Nameless, a prophet of sorts, some say it was a curse, and others a blessing.

To Oracle, it was both a blessing and a curse, but as time has begun to grow, it was starting to look like a curse. Why…. The thought of having to tell someone to leave everything behind, all that they know, care about, and their dreams? It seems like a cruel fate to put on someone but it was not like they had a choice, or say. Just as Oracle didn't have the choice either. A sigh pressed from the creature, and the only way they could even think of figuring out who was the "savior" of this planet called Earth, they had to fully blend in and...so that's what Oracle would do…

The first day of school for Adams had been quite boring, of course it was like that for any school he went to. Everywhere was the same but he did meet some quite interesting characters today. That girl who sat with him at lunch, including with her friend. Though it had been quite annoying, he hadn't exactly asked for people to disturb his normal peace, and he knew that even if he did make friends with anyone here— he'd probably never get their contacts, or lose contact with them if he moved somewhere else.

A cigarette laid gently between Adams' lips while an irritated sigh parted between them, letting a puff of smoke escape. Lifting his hand he removed the stick from his lips while his gaze looked up to the sky, noting how nice it was, the golden dying rays of the setting sun while a dark purple broke its way through the lines of the horizon. To him, all sunsets were the same— there was no difference to them but… for some reason this one felt different and he couldn't exactly put his finger on it but he quickly shook of that bubbling feeling that pitted in his stomach and quickly flicked the bud of the cigarette on the ground, stomping out the last light of the death stick.

His peace was suddenly interrupted as a kid came stumbling out from the alley, they looked awkward, their skin pale and eyes a glacial pale green-blue. Their hair falling down to their back, they were a platinum blonde color and some of their hair had been grouped up into a neat ponytail. They seem...really beautiful, but also carried some masculine features to them that slightly confused Adams.

Shifting a bit he stood up straight, deciding to approach the stranger, "You good?" he asked a bit bluntly, not being the kind with great social skills. The kid looked up at him with a wide look before their pale lips parted and odd words spewed from them. Were.. they a foreigner? He tilted his head at them. "Me no speak...whatever you're saying," Adams said waving his hand awkwardly towards them.

They paused, made a face before sighing and this time speaking in a language that Adams understood but, they had an accent to that honey toned voice. "No, thank you, apologies —legs are just quite hard," they expressed to Adams.

What…? What an odd one. "Uhm… okay then, I'll leave you alone," he said before backing up and turning around and began walking off, leaving the stranger by themselves, and not deciding to attempt any further help with them; he wasn't the kind to lend a hand anyways so, why start now? However, something in his mind told him he should go back, and help them— yet he ignored it and continued his way home.
