Snacks or well-prepared food?

While walking, Simon inquired of James, "So, what do you feel like eating? Fast food or well-prepared food?".

James didn't give a direct answer to that question, instead, he threw the question back at Simon,

"What do you feel like eating?".

"Hmm, at this moment, I feel like eating fast food". Simon retorted.

"Let's eat fast food then".

Not like James couldn't decide on what to eat, at this moment, he could eat either well-prepared food or fast food. So he needed to know which of the two categories of food Simon felt like eating so they could eat something corresponding. He wanted him and his new friend to get along pretty well.

"Then we'll need to find a food store that deals on fast food. We can easily find one if we keep on strolling". Simon stated.

They strolled until they arrived at a food store along the street, and the food store had snacks in abundance...exactly what they were looking for. They strolled into the food store as the lady in it didn't waste time to attend to them. They began selecting the snacks they felt like eating. Simon selected a burger, two chips, and an egg roll. While James selected a chip, two burgers, and a doughnut.

Then they told the lady to bring two chilled plastic bottles of soft drink, you know, for mellowing down the snacks. This was nothing more than junk foods, they were aware of that. They were about to walk out from the food store when Simon shamelessly asked the lady,

"Please, can we eat here?".

James was a bit embarrassed though he wasn't the one that asked the question. Like, they could have easily searched for a chair along the street to sit on and eat their snacks, but Simon decided to ask the lady if they could eat here? He was about holding Simon's hand and dragging him out of the food store when the lady said,

"Yeah, no prob, you guys can eat here".

James was a bit surprised that she consented to it, but Simon wasn't that surprised, seems like he knew that she would consent to it, that's why he asked her. The both of them made themselves comfortable on chairs in the food store and started munching. They didn't rush the snacks, they ate them moderately.

After they had finished eating their snacks, they opened their bottle of soft drinks and began gulping its content down their throats. Not even up to six minutes, they had finished gulping down the whole contents of their plastic bottled soft drink. Now, they were filled up, hunger had been settled for the meantime. The both of them stood up from the chairs they were sitting on and thanked the lady for allowing them eat here, then James inquired of her,

"Are plastic bottled water available in this food store?".

"Sure". The lady responded.

"Can I get at least three bottles of them?".

"Sure, let me get them from the fridge".

With that, the lady strolled over to the refrigerator, opened it, dipped her hands into it, and brought out three plastic bottles of chilled water, put them in black nylon, sauntered over to where James was standing and handed it over to him. James collected the nylon from her and bowed a little, then the both of them settled the bills of the stuff they purchased and consumed before departing from her presence.

James bought the bottled water for one sole purpose, to enhance his vocals...at least, a bit. He believed that water does help in enhancing a person's voice according to the things he had heard...don't know how true that is. So he wanna drink lots of water before going for the audition. He was gonna drink one and half of the bottled water this night, and he'll finish the remaining tomorrow.

Simon was curious to know why he bought those bottled water. If it was 'cause of thirst, he could have purchased one or two, but he decided to buy three? Maybe he bought them for future purposes, but Simon still decided to ask anyway, he must satisfy his curiosity. So he glanced at James and inquired,

"I am curious, what are the bottled water for?".

James didn't want to answer that question directly, so he asked a question instead.

"What is water used for?".

"Water is used for doing a lot of things, it's used for doing the dishes, it's used for doing the laundry. It quenches our thirst, it's used for bathing". Simon responded.

"So I wanna use these bottled water in performing those functions". James uttered, it was clear from his facial expression that he wasn't serious.

Simon laughed out loudly before uttering, "So you wanna use these bottled water in performing those functions. Well, it isn't possible to use just three bottled water to perform all those functions. So tell me the main reason why you purchased them, I'm sure there is another reason apart from quenching your thirst".

James had to give in, he didn't plan on hiding the main reason why he purchased them anyway, "According to what I've heard, drinking a lot of water can help in enhancing a person's vocals. So even though am not thirsty, am gonna drink one and a half of these bottled water this night, then I'll finish the remaining tomorrow. Am doing this for the audition I plan on participating in tomorrow".

Simon nodded his head a little and said, "Hmm, not bad, it could work out for you".

"So where is our next destination, where are we heading to?". James inquired of Simon.

"A nearby hotel, I just wanna lie on a soft bed and relax my body even if I don't doze off. I arrived in this city yesterday very late in the night, and 'cause I knew that most hotels would have been closed, I slept in an uncompleted building. On hard ground, I wasn't that comfortable sleeping there, so right now, I just wanna lie on a soft bed. Let's search around for a hotel".

James smiled a little, that's also what he wanted. He didn't even get the chance to lie down at all yesterday night before dozing off, whether it be on a soft or hard surface. He slept off sitting on a chair and resting his head on a wall outside, completely exposed to whatever danger. The both of them began sauntering about in search of a hotel.

The plan was that they were gonna book a room and share it, they'll both sleep on the same bed. After minutes of searching, they found a hotel, it was written at the top of the building that indicates that it was a hotel. The both of them didn't waste time as they strolled into it, there was no security guard of any sort to stop them from gaining access into the edifice.

Entering the edifice, they sauntered over to the desk of the receptionist to book a room, but there was a queue. The queue wasn't that long though, just about four people before it gets to their turn. They waited and waited until the receptionist had attended to the four people, two were checking out while two booked a room. They came closer to the desk of the receptionist and told him their reason for coming, yeah, the receptionist was male.

The receptionist weirdly glanced at them, surely, what must have been on his mind was, 'What are these two young boys doing here? Don't they have parents?' Yeah, that same underestimation. James and Simon had already discerned that the man was underestimating them by the look on his face, but that's his business.

The man handed them their room number, he can underestimate them all he wants, but as far as they have enough money to pay for the room...there was nothing he could do about it. They collected the room number from him, then James and Simon contributed money out of the money they had left on them to settle the bill.

Then they strolled out of the receptionist's presence heading straight to where their room was situated according to the number he gave to them. There was a staircase in the hotel that led to other rooms upstairs, but according to what the receptionist told them, theirs was downstairs. They scanned through the room numbers until they found theirs, then they unlocked the door with the key the receptionist gave to them before entering it.

Thank goodness, the bed in the room was wide enough to contain both of them. The moment Simon set eyes on the bed, he said,

"Such a vast bed, we can sleep comfortably without disturbing each other though we are sharing the same bed".

James nodded his head before stating, "That's true, it would have been complete if there was a television".
