Before they both knew it, it was evening already. They had both spent the whole day arranging the house and making sure all was in order.

They had gone shopping for a Christmas tree and ornaments to decorate it with but they hadn't had the time to decorate it so they left it for later.

Paula couldn't just place her life on hold because there was a jobless person out there stalking her.

Just as Jaime promised, he called over some security professionals to check the house for bugs and and also to change the locks. Thankfully, there were no bugs or hidden cameras and Paula finally relaxed a little bit when she realised she still had a little privacy in the confine of her home.

"I'm not sure what to wear. What kind of party is it?" Jaime asked Paula after they both had an early dinner.

"I'm not sure it's going to be something grand since she made up her mind to hold a party just a few hours ago so anything would do just fine."

"What are you wearing? So we can at least dress the same way and look awkward together if the others wear more flashy clothes than us." He said with a quick laugh and she joined in.

"Tees and jean. That should work." She responded and began to head towards her room.

"Make sure you wear some make up." Jaime called after her.

"I don't have the strength for that." She replied lazily.

"You should. Maybe you can just find a buddy to spend Christmas with."

"Who cares about a Christmas buddy?"

Paula hissed before entering inside her room.

She knew Jaime was going to nag if she didn't wear any make up so she used her red lipstick and a little powder before stepping out.

"I really need to learn your secret." Jaime said as he led her towards his car and opened the door for her.

"What secret?" She asked inquisitively.

"Why you never age. How many hours do you work out in a week?" He asked as he got inside the car and began to drive.

"How did you know I worked out?" She asked since she couldn't remember ever telling him because she wanted to surprise him and show him the muscles she was gradually building up.

"Tim told me he saw you at the gym a couple of times."

"Really? He should have said hi then, I didn't know he went there too."

''His father owns the place. Besides, you know he likes to keep to himself. Probably why he said nothing."

"Yea." Paula nodded in understanding before asking him... "So did you invite your friends over?"

"Yea, sure."

"Oh! And you should be wary of Linda tonight." Paula said and heard him laugh loudly.

"Why? You are worried she may try something funny? Come on, it's her house and her husband is going to be there."

"Derek doesn't care. He is a pervert who enjoys watching other men fuck his wife." She quickly slapped her mouth when she realised she had just used the wrong language in front of him.

"Sorry." She said with an awkward smile.

"It's cool. You should understand I'm an adult now. No need to feel embarrassed about it." He explained to her as he pulled up in the driveway of Linda's apartment.

"Remember, try not to get drunk. You know how you get with alcohol" Jaime said to her when they both got down from the car.

"I'm a big girl. I'm going to be fine. And I have you here, don't I? I can finally drink well for the first time in years with reckless abandon." She said cheekily before hopping towards the entrance.

Jaime snickered as he watched her back. "What a baby mum."
