Both Our Hearts

I promised to return it soon and head back to my room. 


I dial John's number and it goes straight to voicemail. 


I dial it three more times and same thing, straight to his voicemail. 


I sulk as l return Tae's phone and went to bed wondering why my boyfriend was not answering my calls. 


10 days passed and l was getting used to the routine already, everyone was in shape. 


I thought it would show that there was a girl in training but it didn't l blended in well, l wasn't slacking off l was even a tad bit better than Anton and Marlon. 


10 days and John hadn't called back or texted. It was affecting me especially when we were doing cybernetics l made a lot of  mistakes. 


During these 10 days l had really gotten close with Nico since we were the only females and she always said Tae had hots for me so she always teased me about it but honestly l didn't see it that way so l just brushed it off. 


In the evening after running l decided to call John for the eighth time in these ten days. 


Same as always it goes to voicemail but instead of me not doing anything l recorded a message. 


"I thought you said you were going to call as soon as you landed what happened.


You know when you love someone you always find a way so don't tell me you didn't have anything to do. 


You did not even bother asking how my orientation is going.


I miss you so much it hurts and the least you could do was call."


The last part comes out as sobs and l hadn't planned on crying in his voicemail but l failed miserably because l actually cry before pressing the end button. 


After giving it some thought l figured l should put him at the back of my mind and focus on what's at hand. 


Last day of our training we only ran in the morning and had a farewell meeting before we bid our goodbyes and went our separate ways. 


We had all gotten really friendly with each other so we took time to say our goodbyes. 


We also said our goodbyes to everyone at Black Crystal before driving off. 


I drove all the way home and as we got home l found Josh waiting for me eagerly. 


His small hands collided with mine as we gave each other a very long, tight hug. 


I had missed him so much and so did he.
