Chapter 20

Andy's POV

"After returning back from the 15-day orientation"

After returning from the training with Tae life goes back to normal, Josh is back at home and so am l.

Five months moved so quick. I still could not get a hold of John but at least in a month he will be here and he promised he would see me as soon as he lands.

I want to believe that he will do what he said he will do.

School is going very well for Josh and his now best friend Victoria Wagner, the girl from next door.

Lydia sent people to my house to install cameras, alarms in the house and even made a panic room just in case something happens home.

I had a few guns hidden in the walls all over the house, with this kind of job I must be always on my A-game.

Work was good, turns out me and Tae are the best at what we do.

We managed to get our eight months cases solved in a course of five months.

At work

"Tae and Andy report to my office." A voice came through the intercom and we both stood up go to Lydia's office.

Both Tae and me used the same office.

As we got in the office, I noticed she had two files (one that seemed new and the other that was partly burnt but you could make sense of it) on her desk a new case we were going to be working on, I guess.

"We will only do this if you are willing to Andy." She says and I wonder why she needs my consent.

"Go ahead." I say looking at Lydia.

"This file has what we know about the two corrupt Major MM companies and this other file is what we recovered from your house, your old house Andy." She says and I quickly catch on what she is saying.

We are taking the case that my mom and dad were working on and we get to find who murdered my parents in the process.

"I can do it." I say with a determined face.

"I want you to be sure Andy, you are one of the best team we have so l do not want this case to ruin you." She says concern engulfing her face.

I get that she cares but I need to do this for both my parents, so that they will rest peacefully knowing that their murderer is rotting in jail.

"I will give this my best and I promise it will not affect me, and besides I have Tae to look out for me." I say with a soft smile looking at both Tae and Lydia.

If only I knew that I will not be able to keep that promise I would not have even taken the case.

"Okay then, you can take the case, but Ruah when it goes south tell me immediately."

"I give you my word Lydia." He says to Lydia.

We take the files and head to our office. Tons of work was waiting for us.

After we organised everything and how we were going to work on the case we both went home. Tae dropped me off and I invited him to stay for diner which he accepted without giving it a second thought.

I warm up the food and set the table. We dine well, Josh telling me about school and how he is now preparing for exams.

After diner he had ice-cream watching television, as Josh was scrolling through looking for something we all could watch we both see John on the TV sitting with a blonde girl.

I snatch the remote from Josh, increase the volume.

"You have done it again Mr. Merrick. You have managed to increase your shares. As young as you are you are already a big shark in the business industry. Who do you have to thank for all this.?" The interviewer asks.

"Well, mostly my dad, my friend Will and my determination. Its all about putting your all into what you are doing." He says flashing his handsome smile.

He looks at the girl who is beside him and they smile at each other. My heart breaks.

Therefore, he has not been able to call, message me; because he has moved on. And here I was waiting for him like a fool.

I look at the time the interview was aired and it dated to two months ago. Exactly three months after he went to Singapore.

I just stood up and went outside for some air. I wanted to cry but somehow, I saw this coming, him and l were never going to be together who was I fooling.

Tears start falling down my cheeks. I start wiping them away rubbing my chest. It hurts because I love him.

Tae finds his way to where I was and I wipe away the tears so that he will not see them.

He walks to wards me and hugs me.

"It's okay Andy," he says and I start sobbing.

After a while we sit in silence.

"You should go home, it's getting late." I tell Tae and he nods.

After Tae goes home, we go to bed.

After a month of working on our case we figure out that both companies supply heroine to Singapore, a company owned by Jeremy Scott.

The heroine was transported to Singapore with a private plane in form of flowers, artificial roses to be specific. This exchange was done once a year and 50 billion dollars was gained by both the companies.

I then went to inform Lydia about our new found information.

"Good work Givens."

We then go to the airport to get the dates travelled.

"We would like to speak to the radar controller who grants take off of all planes going outside the country?" Tae speaks.

"Right this way Sir," the lady walks towards the air control tower and as we get in there are tons of laptops all over, a huge screen showing latitudes and longitudes, weather.

"They would like to speak to you Lewis." The lady speaks and Lewis turns around to face us.

We ask for all the records he had on all take offs.

"This is confidential information; I am not allowed to just show it to anyone." He speaks.

"I am Agent Givens and this is Agent Ruah from Moonlight, this is part of a case we are working on." I say and proceed to show him a letter we had gotten from Mr. James the air control tower operator that allows us access to all the records.

"My apologies I did not know." He says and we just nod.

Turns out the plane takes off every year on the 22nd of December.

"I have only seen one person with that plane." Lewis informs us.

After the talk with Lewis, we now joined every single piece on our board in the office.

All we had to was get evidence of the heroine and get the man who piloted the plane. He was going to lead us to the three corrupt men; Mr. Scott, M1 and M2. We were still unsure who M1 and M2 were because they used code names instead of their names.
