Jealousy II

Mai scratched her head that didn't itch. Yes, why is that? Ah, at least it's a coincidence.

"And he likes to give you ice cream. Came to the Faculty of Economics just to give you ice cream." Ivani took another sip of her iced tea, her lips still pouting.

"I also don't understand that one," said Mai slowly.

"Tomorrow, if he gives you ice cream, just refuse," Ivani said.

"But..." said Mai.

Mai bit her lip.

"The ice cream is delicious." Said Mai.

Ivani rolled her eyes. Little kid! She cursed in her heart. Ivani noticed a friend who was younger than her. Her black hair is currently in two braids, jeans, a white t-shirt with the image of 'The Simpsons', and a pink cardigan. At first, Mai changed her appearance, Mai took a slightly mature style with flowing hair and shoes with 3 cm heels, her face was also covered with light make-up but it only lasted a month.

Then the girl went back to wearing her old clothes, her hair was tied in a ponytail or braided in two or wearing a cute accessory with a picture of a strawberry-like what she is wearing now. Mai also returned to wearing her pink sneakers. She only maintains her contact lens. Her face is also just polished with powder and lip gloss.

Ivani sighed. Such a childish girl could not possibly attract Aaron's attention. Cynthia's appearance is far above Mai's, but those brown eyes every time she sees Mai annoy Ivani. There was something about Mai that seemed to interest Aaron.

"What if he likes you?" Ivani asked while biting her lip. In her heart, she was afraid that her hunch was right.

"Ivani!" Mai said she felt ridiculous.

Although in her heart Mai admits that sometimes she feels overreacting with all of Aaron's attention and good attitude towards her. Mai remembered the way Aaron asked for her cellphone number some time ago. The mulatto man borrowed her cell phone and kept his number there. after that Aaron diligently sent her a chat that contained trivial to serious matters, for example about hemophobia or PTSD.

Mai again reminded herself that she had Thomas even though it was only a one-sided love.

"Are you interested in him too?" Ivani said she was still curious.

"No, no." Said Mai.

"Why not? He's cute." Ivani said. Every girl would want to be his girlfriend, Ivani also wants.

"Yeah..." Mai admitted. He's so damn cute. Many girls looked envious when Mai and Aaron were chatting. Sometimes Mai is even gossiped about by them. There were rumors in the bathroom too.

"But it's all about feelings. I don't have any feelings for him." Said Mai, Ivani was silent.

"I can't possibly compete with my own best friend. Don't worry," Mai assured Ivani, it seemed that Ivani was afraid that her best friend would become her rival. Ivani chuckled softly.

"Yes, I know. But it's a matter of the heart, I also can't force Aaron to like who. If he prefers you, what can I do? Let me know if you change your mind. I don't like it when someone stabs me in the back. " Ivani said.

"What are you doing? Trust me, Aaron can't possibly like me." Mai said she was sure. How could Aaron like a girl like Mai? Very impossible.

"Why?" Ivani asked.

"Maybe it's not like that, Van. I mean we don't know." Said Mai.

"Two families meeting? What else? Could it be that they are still engaged to be married?" Ivani said she was thinking further away.

"We're still in college. After all, medical school is the longest, they can't get married." Said Mai.

Ivani didn't listen to Mai at all. The girl froze and seemed lost in thought.

"That's it. You should calm first. We'll just find out what they're doing." Said Mai, she also stroked Ivani's back and patted her a little.

"Find out?" Said Ivani, she looked like an idiot. Mai nodded.

"Then how?" Ivani said.

Mai was silent. She was confused too. This is not her business. Why does she concerned about other people's business.

"Mmm... if they're engaged, right, we'll hear the news. If there's nothing, then there's nothing. Isn't that right?" Said Mai.

"Whoa....!" Ivani panicked, she reflexively hugged Mai and Mai again patted the girl's back.

Gone is the hope. Looks like she'll have to give up on this.

The music boomed again on the stage, Mai looked up but this time it was not The Whale Gray that appeared but Vierratale, a band that is being loved by young people today. The audience was immediately hysterical, more hysterical than when The Whale Gray appeared. Even Ivani joined in the 'noise', forgetting her worries for a moment. Mai just came out of the bathroom, a towel covered her wet hair, she felt very tired. The campus anniversary event just finished around 8 pm, maybe more. It's also her fault who told her to enjoy the event to the end. This is because of Vierratale, Mai is not one of their fans but Mai likes some of their songs. She hummed as she brushed her hair. Her cellphone rang and Mai peeked at the screen, from Thomas. Very surprising.

Thomas: Have you arrived home, Mai?

Mai: it's been a while. What's it to you?

Thomas: never mind, just want to make sure.

Mai was silent. What is Thomas going to do? It was unusual for Thomas to send messages like this.

Thomas: Is there an event tomorrow?

Mai: no, why?

Thomas: let's go hang out

Mai froze, What dream did she have last night. Does Thomas lead the way? Is this some kind of date?

The girl sighed, she didn't want to get her hopes up. The last time Thomas asked her to go and Mai was already feeling happy to death, it turned out that he just wanted to be accompanied to find a gift for Linda.
