Chapter Thirteen

THIRST FOR VENGEANCE

Its Friday and a busy day for us. Most customers flock the club on Fridays after work. As for me am counting two more days to get my first paycheck and am all excited. I have almost exhausted Hazel's kitty savings since I use the money for transportation. So am planning to repay it once that salary comes.

After much practice everyday I was now good. I took more hours before I got exhausted and this day I was definately on my feet.

I served customers cheerfully and by the way I was earning tips from the generous ones.

"There's a customer calling over there," Trini said as I reached the counter.

I turned to look at the direction where she was staring at and I almost freaked out. It was the girl that had pushed the guy at me sometimes back.

"You should go take her orders," I told Trini.

"Why? What's wrong with you going? Besides she seems to be calling you not me." She stared at me hands over her chest.

"Damn it Trini! Its because she is the girl with trouble from last time. And you promised to have my back remember?" I answered her angrily.

"She is the one?" She asked surprised, "that's the bitch that's freaking my girl out? Sorry dear. She will get a piece from me. I gat this." She said as she hurried towards the girl as I watched anxiously.

Few minutes later she came storming back to the counter. By the look on her face something was definately wrong.

"The nerve of that bitch," she said furiously cussing.

"Hey, what happened over there? You smell danger," I enquired.

Well, aparrently that bitch wants no one else to serve her apart from you," she replied, "she even threatened to tell on me to my boss claiming its insubordination and I would lose my job. The nerve. If I didn't love my job I would have put her into her place. Nobody messes with me and my girls and goes scot free. Never!"

"Damn girl! You sure would run through a wall for me." I shrieked. "Thanks for that let me go and listen to what she wants from me. I got this," I tapped her shoulder.

"If she tries anything, don't hesitate to call me for backup," Trini says clenching her jaw.

"Roger that ma'am," I salute her as I head towards the bitch.

"Hello, you called for me, how may I help you?" I asked her making sure my tone was as serious as I looked.

"Oh, Alexa!" She exclaimed looking at my name tag.

"Yeah right am sure its written there you don't have to read it out loud," I sternly told her, "and as you can see I have other customers to serve, so ma'am, kindly make your order," I added.

"Ouch! That's so harsh," she fakes hurt, "can't you stay a little longer?" She adds.

"Well, am not paid to chichat, so excuse me since you don't look like you want to order anything," I told her as I turned to go. But the next thing she said made me freeze.

"I had a friend called Mercy and she looked exactly like you, I know the reason she went missing. I kinda thought you were related," she said.

I turned to look at her trying to read her expression. But found no emotion.

I narrowed my eyes at her and asked, "I have no idea who she is but just out of curiosity, did you kill her?"

"What? No, why do you ask?" She jumped in fright.

"I guess we are done here then,"I said and left her table.

Trini and Lyn were waiting impatiently at the counter keeping their eyes on us all that time.

"So, how did it go with the bitch?" Trini asked immediately I reached where they were.

"Looks like she confused me with someone from her past, nothing much," I told them.

"But it looked like you two were spiting fire at each other and I swear I saw flames in your eyes and its still there," Trini said looking at me keenly.

"Come on guys, we have customers to serve," I managed to change the topic.

We went back to serving.
