The boss of the dungeon

Kazuto and Yue are continuing their journies in the dungeon. All this time Yue is acting like a rear support for Kazuto which is a good thing but there is still a little problem with it. Yue would kill almost all the monsters instantly in one shot which is why Kazuto didn't even get a chanceto fight and enjoy his battle.

But it luckily stopped after having a small discussion with Yue when they were resting. He also told about himself to Yue. It seems she got many questions in her head like, how can he eat monsters, how did he get here, about magic manipulation, and many more. But he answered all the questions and seems like it satisfied her curiosity for now.

Now, he doesn't have any complaints against Yue but she has been sticking to him like a glue whenever she got a chance. She has marked his lap as a private territory for herself. She would sometimes rub her face on his chest with a content expression or sometimes would just keep kissing his neck without drinking any blood. It has been really hard to stop himself from doing something he might regret because of his lust. It also doesn't help when he knows that her age is fine to do it even if she has a child's body. He is a hormonal teenager, you know. For now the dungeon's tension and the danger of getting attacked has helped him overcome this but he isn't sure what would happen if she does the same after getting out.

In this way Kazuto has been travelling the dungeon and exploring new levels daily. Kazuto is sure that this dungeon has more floors than what was said in the information about it in the book because this is nearly the 100th level going down. He also has no idea how much time has passed outside.

Now once again he was going to a new level from the staircase, the level they stumbled upon, was a very large space supported by a vast number of pillars. Each of the pillars was 5m in diameter, and each had spiral designs and vine patterns engraved onto them. The arrangement of each row of pillars was very uniform, and was even spaced out evenly. There was about 30m to the ceiling. Unlike the usual rough ground in the dungeon, this place had beautiful flat ground, and the room gave off a solemn atmosphere.

They stepped into the room while they admired it. All the pillars started to shine faintly then. This got them to regain their caution. Pillars lit up sequentially towards the back of the room.

Kazuto was vigilant for a while, but they decided to advance because nothing was happening. They advanced while making full use of their senses and perception skills. After they progressed 200m, they found a dead end ahead. No, not a dead end, but a huge door. The double door was 10m tall and had extravagant sculptures engraved onto it. Particularly, some of the patterns drawn were the same as the ones on top of the octagon system.

"…This looks amazing. By any chance…"

"Abode of Traitors?"

He had a feeling this was the room with the last boss. Kazuto's instincts were sending him warnings, while there was no reaction from his perception skills. The fight ahead would definitely be a troublesome one. Yue seemed to feel it too because there was sweat on her forehead.

"Isn't this the great? We finally reached our goal."

Kazuto disregarded his instinct and put his excited smile on. He had no choice but to keep going, no matter what was behind there, so why not enjoy it as well.

Yue eyed the door with an expression that told him she was prepared for it.

The two finally walked past the last of pillars and advanced towards the door.

At that moment, a huge magic formation nearly 30 meters wide appeared between them and the door. Crimson light emitted from the magic, and it pulsated.

Kazuto recognized this magic. He couldn't forget it, since it was the same magic that triggered because of the trap that day and caused him and Hajime to fall into the abyss. But the magic formation for the Behemoth a measly 10m in diameter. Compared to the magic formation from last time, this was 3 times larger than that, a lot more complex and detailed.

"Wow, it looks like a last boss in RPGS. I am really excited for this battle."

"I will also help."

Like usual, Kazuto smiled with a glint in his golden eyes. Yue tugged on one of his arms tightly with a determined expression on her face.

Kazuto nodded at Yue's words, and glared at the magic formation. Seems like they wouldn't be able to advance if they didn't defeat the monster that came out of that magic formation and it also looks like it will be a hard but enjoyable battle.

The formation shone more and more until it finally burst. Kazuto and Yue both held up their arms to prevent the light from blinding them. When the light disappeared, the boss awaited them.

A monster over 30m in length, 6 heads with long necks, sharp fangs, and dark red eyes. Comparable to the Hydra of the myths.

Those six pair of eyes stared at Kazuto as it gave off a strange roar. It seemed to want to bring judgment upon the intruders who didn't know their place. A fierce thirst for blood, that would have stopped an ordinary man's heart, was flung at Kazuto who shrugged it like it was nothing. 

The red head of the hydra fired a fireball which both of them avoided by jumping to the side. Though this didn't stop it as another one joined by firing ice shot towards Kazuto which he avoided. Another head also fired a wind attack towards Yue as she avoided it by flying in the air.

At that moment Kazuto ran towards the red head with "divine step" in full use. This skill was the one which is closest to derive into a new one but couldn't because of lack of proper stimuli. Kazuto took the katana in his hand and slashed a powerful slash by also using "lightning clad". He avoided another wind attack shot by one of the head and jumped back.

As if on cue, Yue also attacked the monster with her magic. She raised her hand and said,

" Scarlet spear! "

A flash of light and a blazing spear shot towards the red head. It hit squarely on the target and the head is barely alive.

Their plan was to take down the heads one by one and it also looked like it was a simple but effective plan until a white head showed itself and started healing the red head to healthy condition.

Once again the heads attacked with their respective elements but Kazuto and Yue dodged them while talking using "Telephatic communication".

(Yue!, I will keep them busy while you attack the white one.)

(Okay!)

As Kazuto's speed was higher than the head of the hydra he started launcing a barrage of slashes on each head while also trying to attack the white one. At this moment he got a message from Yue and jumped back so that she could attack the white head.

" Imperial canon! Scarlett spear! "

Yue aimed the spear towards the white head and also launced another vacuum wind slash as a failsafe but before the spell could hit the white head, a yellow head came before it and took the attack. If it were the other head it would been gravely injured but it looks like it focuses on defence as the attack only managed to injured it lightly.

Seeing this Kazuto tsked insisde his mind and was going to attack once again but stopped when heard Yue scream.

"Noooo!"

"Yue?!"

Kazuto dashed towards Yue while dodging the attacks from red head and green head respectively. He wondered what could have happened when he noticed that the black head which didn't attack till now was near her and was trying to sallow her.

Trying to disturb the black head, Kazuto fired the last remaining bullets from the gun towards it. It hit it's mark as the black head stopped moving towards Yue and moved backwards to avoid more attacks.

Yue was still standing there with unfocused eyes so he picked her up while going behind the pillar to take cover. He also didn't forget to empty his last falshbang towards the enemy as he needed some time to help Yue.

Looking at Yue he noticed that her face was pale and she was trembling. Maybe it was because of the black head of the monster's attack and from the looks of it, it is a mental attack. He tried waking her up by calling her but it didn't work so he quickly took some sacred water and fed it her.

After a while, light began to dwell in her hollow eyes.

"Yue!"

"...Kazuto"

"Yeah, it's me. Are you alright? What happened?"

Yue confirmed Kazuto's existence with blinking eyes. She extends out her small hands and touched his face. A relieved sigh escaped her lips as she realized that Kazuto was really in front of her, and tears began to collect at the edge of her eyes.

"…What a relief… I thought I was abandoned… alone in the dark again…"

"Ah? What are you talking about?"

Kazuto was perplexed at her state. Yue said she saw a scene play out where Kazuto had abandoned her and resealed her. When she saw that, a strong sense of insecurity struck her. She became bound by fear then it paralyzed her body and mind.

"Tsk! A debuff spell? Seems like the black head can induce panic into its opponent!."

"…Kazuto."

Yue watched Kazuto curse at the troublesome enemy with her anxious eyes. It was a frightening scene, being abandoned by Kazuto. He was the person to risk his own life at unsealing her after 300 years. He, who didn't treat her differently after she told him she was a vampire, and allow her to feed off of him day-by-day. It was unavoidable that her heart yielded.

The only place for Yue was beside Kazuto. She didn't even want to imagine being alone again. Therefore the planted nightmare was stuck in her head and ate her up. Kazuto stands up at the sign of the Hydra recovering from the confusion. Yue detained him involuntarily when she grabbed his clothes.

"…I…"

She was shaking with an uneasy expression that was close to crying. Kazuto finally understood what nightmare she saw and what she was currently thinking. In his usual manner, he was able to perceive her feelings. Either way, she was his responsibility and both of them trusted each other with their lives. There was no reason to pretend not to know.

He would probably be able to comfort her with words, but there was no time for that. If he said some half-hearted words, she would still fall prey to the black head's magic. There was a possibility that Kazuto would mess up, but at that time he would follow Yue. While he thought of that excuse, Kazuto scratched his head and squatted in front of Yue to meet her eyes.

And then…

"?…!?"

Kazuto inclined his head and kissed Yue.

Their lips only touched a bit, but Yue had a dramatic reaction. She just seriously stared at Kazuto.

He stared at her eyes confidently with red cheeks and led her to stand with his hand.

"We will kill that beast and survive. Then, we will reach the surface and enjoy our freedom together."

Kazuto was a little embarrassed as it was his first kiss and the words are also a little chunni but he has to do it so that the mental debuff don't work on her. And looking at her face blooming with a beautiful smile, he thought it was worth it.

"Yue, I'll take care of the white and yellow head while you handle the others."

Yue's eyes shone with confusion as to how he would do it but she chose to believe him and nodded her head with determination.

At the same time the effects of confusion on the heads of the hydra monster finished and the heads attacked the pillar with fireball, iceball, windbalde and lightning. Both Kazuto and Yue dodged it by jumping outside the pillar.

Kazuto once again started running towards the monster but this time he was aiming for the yellow head and he dodged all the incoming projectiles on the way.

Using "divine step" Kazuto jumped in the air and attacked the yellow head with the katana coated with lightning. This time the power of the attack was more than what the head could take as he had used "Herculean strength", "lightning clad", "Air claw", and "Qick draw" all at once.

Facing this kind of attack, the yellow head collasped on the ground with a big wound and without giving other heads a chance to react, Kazuto once again attacked and destroyed the white head by oblerating half of it's head and retreated. But he was panting as nearly all his mana was used.

"Scorching Heaven!"

Yue also attacked the other heads seeing as she got a chance.

Once the Vampire Princess —an existence which caused her own people to fear her due to her talents and ultimately sealed her— poured her power into the spell, it was like turning Heaven's vengeance against the hydra.

Immediately after, electric discharge started to gather around the 4 heads and soon, 6 lightning spheres surrounded the heads. The discharge soon lengthened and connected all the spheres together, forming a huge lightning globe in the center.

Zing!!

When the globe burst, it rained down lightning of great power within the confines of the 6 smaller spheres. The four heads tried to run, but the surrounding lightning spheres were acting like walls. As the wrath of God poured down from the sky, flashes and thunder filled the room.

Helpless, the four heads screamed in agony as they were charcoaled and erased by the superlative magic that lasted more than 10 seconds.

Like always, Yue collapsed into a sitting position after using that strong of a spell. She was breathing heavily as her magic power was exhausted and on her expressionless face was the eyes that conveyed satisfaction.

Kazuto gave her a thumbs up and smiled. He began to walk while he carried the katana on his hand. What remained of the Hydra were left behind him as he made his way to Yue.

Just after that.

"Kazuto!"

Yue's desperate voice sounded out. As he wondered what was up, he followed her line of sight. From the Hydra's remains rose a seventh head that glared at him. Kazuto stiffened unintentionally.

However, the seventh silver head shifted its gaze to Yue and it let loose an aurora without any preparations. Like the bullet, the aurora shot towards Yue in an instant. She couldn't move because of magic exhaustion.

The moment the silver head turned to Yue, Kazuto had jumped out as his body was attacked by chills. He didn't even think much and used the skill to reach towards Yue. At that moment his speed had dramatically increased because his "divine step" had exceeded the limit and it has been derived into "Light steps".

Kazuto took Yue in his arms and moved away from the area of impact. But the shockwave still hit them and Kazuto fell on the ground with Yue still in his arms.

The damage and earlier magic exhaustion hit Kazuto hard as he nearly fainted but he still held on. Kazuto didn't have much magic left and he also couldn't drink the sacred water right now because the monster attacked him with a dark purple coloured poisonous ball once again.

Kazuto once again activated used "light steps" and started moving as he avoided the projectiles fired by the monsters. He couldn't do much in this condition so before Yue could say anything Kazuto called out to her.

"Yue drink my blood. Your magic is the last resort… Do it, Yue. We will win."

She believed in him and buried her face into his nape with her fangs. Yue's body was rapidly healing when Kazuto's blood flowed into her. The two of them were dancing around and avoiding the storm of light bullets while in each other's embrace.

"Yue, when I give the signal, cast "Azure Sky"."

Until then, put your heart and soul into evading. Kazuto put Yue behind the pillar and moved towards the monster while drinking sacred water. The monster had a taunting glint in his eyes as he fired it's special magic. Kazuto jumped around as he avoided all the attacks of the monster. He jumped around in the air near the ceiling, dodging the barrage.

Irritated, the silver head gave off an aurora attack carelessly. Naturally, Kazuto dodged it easily with a grin. Kazuto got ready to play his cards. The head became stiff while it did its aurora attack. At the same time Kazuto attacked the celling above the monster with the same attack he used on the yellow head but this time he used half of his mana available in a single lai draw strike and produce a lightning slash.

An intense explosion and shock occurred on the ceiling. After an instant of silence, it began to collapse in one go. The debris was 10 m in diameter and weighed dozens of tons. That large mass crushed into the silver head. If this could defeat the monster then it would be easy but this has only trapped the monster.

Kazuto approached the trapped monster and attacked with the same move and retreated after injuring it.

Yue!"

"Okay! "Azure Sky"!"

A pale sun appeared in the blast furnace and melted the silver head that was restrained. There was explosion inside, and the power broke through its defense. The damage the silver head had suffered was not negligible.

"Guuruaaa!!"

The silver head let out a death throes. It tried to violently run away and shot off light bullets randomly. Walls started to break but Kazuto was there attack it to prevent its escape. The Hydra tried to use its aurora attack but the silver head melted in the high heat and was unable to shoot it.

Kazuto's perception could no longer sense the hydra, as it disappeared from his senses. This time he was convinced of its death and collapsed backward.

"Kazuto!"

Yue crawled to him as her body had lost all its energy.

"Looks like… I'm spent…"

All the intense pain and the draining of magic hit kazuto and affected him severely. Kazuto let consciousness slowly fade away as he felt Yue embracing him.
